Hello everyone; recently got the freeware Searchlight Simulations GE GEVO-12 Enhancement Pack but have noticed a problem with it after downloading. So the awesome light flares and a few other sounds from this pack installation work just fine but the engine sounds don't want to play on any of the ES44 locos which is strange. I have tried multiple methods, re-installing, un-installing and then re-installing, clearing the cache, exporting the files from the installer to a non-railworks folder and then manually dragging and dropping the enhancement pack files into the RailWorks folder alongside going into World Editor with the "enhanced' locos in question and making sure it's associated asset files are correctly ticked and active too. I even tried using 32-bit! I haven't contacted Searchlight Simulations for support as the GE GEVO-12 Enhancement Pack is one that they say they no longer provide support for this so I am not going to bother them with this. I installed the Searchlight Simulations EMD 16N - 710G3B - Sound EP freeware pack today and that worked just fine upon installation as well as the payware EMD 16-645E3 Sound EP which also had no problems after installation. I haven't tracked down any fixes so I have resorted to making this thread post in hopes someone has an idea of how to fix it; if there is a way. I am really impressed with the sounds with the other packs I have downloaded and the videos I've seen of the GEVO Enhancement Pack working so really hope it's a fixable issue. Thanks in advance.
I ticked both MLW Audio and Searchlight Simulations assets in the World Editor however that did not work.
There is a GEVO improvment pack that uses the sound pack but fixes things that the original pack didn't. You can find it here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1x4WFOXC5PjyTOnyFDkxFSdNlwKDbTVRg&usp=drive_copy
Thanks a lot mate wouldn’t have found this without this reply; I’ve really been diving into the US freeware and cheap payware scene recently for enhancement packs and such they make a huge and great difference. I’ll try this one out later, thanks again!
I seem to get a few locos with sound dropouts in the 7FDL16 pack as well but so far havent been able to find a solution but Im not very technical when it comes to sound issues in Railworks. This one is also not supported so that might point to inherent issues
