Hi folks, as far as I can tell some people might have some problems with calculating the ZDE data for the BR 101 and the IC Cab-Car. So with the help of Chat-GPT I made this small tool for calculating the ZDE data: https://zde.tkessel.net The tool is available in english and german language. I hope some of you find it useful! If you find any errors, please report them and I'm sure we can solve them.
Not bad, but there is one thing that would be missing in there: A brake mode setting. During some faults, for example if the electric brakes fail, or if you have a more general brake issue which requires you to use P or G mode, then it is not possible to use this tool to make new calculations. Ideally, for the carriages, it should include the following: G, P, R, R + Mg. For the 101 it should have R + E 160, R + E, P + E, R, P, G.
Raph' Thank you, I will try to make something like an advanced mode and add this. The idea was to have an easy calculator without too many options for the beginners.
I think this is easy to use and very helpful for many newcomers. Should be pinned imho. Another idea would be to precalculate the data for the available timetable services, so people can just look up the values for a specific service instead of needing to do calculations.
Hi, very nice platform but I have a question how do I know my "VMAX Schedule"? I still can't find this information anywhere I just go with 200 since It's the maximum speed of 101.
200 is actually the Vmax of the IC coaches, the 101 can do 230 I believe. Your train Vmax is the Vmax of the slowest element of your train not the loco.
StenioBlackHawnk On most routes it is 160km/h. Only KWG would be 200km/h as it is the only route where the 101 subs with LZB enabled. Otherwise it also depends on the coaches like the IC coaches are allowed to drive 200km/h. But when you drive the NJ on KWG the VMAX would be 100km/h as the car-trailers are only allowed for 100km/h when loaded (empty 120km/h). Fitz BR 101 is only allowed VMAX 200 since 1st of December 2014. It was 220km/h before.

In reality the max speed from your schedule would match that one from the coach with the lowst max speed. So in TSW it depends on both. On one hand an IC coach could go 200km/h but if your schedule for the route only allows 160km/h it would be 160km/h. With the NJ on KWG on the other hand it would be 100km/h because of the coaches but the scheduele would also be max 100km/h in reality. In TSW we only have something like a max route speed which does not have to correspond with the max allowed speed of the train formation you are driving.

So If I understand correctly, my IC coaches are 200 maximum but If I go for Rosenheim route I think their maximum speed is 160, I go for the maximum of the route right?
For any run there can be several "maximum" speeds, you always are limited to the lowest. Add into the mix that a properly calculated fahrplan may generate a max speed for a particular train on a particular route that is even slower, especially freight trains.
What? The age is not the case but more the coaches are not fitted to drive above 200 km/h. All Eurofima coaches in Europe have a maximum top speed off 200km/h or lower. Only the Metropolitan was a different train with a separate "Zulassung" for 220km/h
I have made a simple spreadsheet in LibreOffice which calculates this and in the column with braked weight, I have R+Mg values cos thats what I would use mostly I guess... but if I needed other values, I just change the value... it is really just simple math in that spreadsheet once I get home I could upload it somewhere and link it here, it isnt as nice as this tool, but serves the purpose just fine as for vmax, in some other threads I believe it was cwf.green who told me that while some IRL formations of BR 101 could go 220, those arent simulated/represented in-game, so there BR 101 vmax is 200 kph, but you only go that fast on Kassel Wurzburg and Koln Aachen, so most of the time you would use Vmax 160 kph... am I right here, guys ?

The braked weight is near the middle of the wagon, 58.1t (the image shows 581t, but that is a lot. Looking at the distance between the 5 and the 8 compared to the distance between the 8 and the 1 I think there should be a dot between the 8 and the 1 that was weathered). It is valid for G and P brake mode types. The weight of the habbiins is 26960t, so you round it up to 27t. The maximum weight of the payload is 63t. Maximum total weight is 27t + 63t = 90t. Maximum speed loaded is 100 Km/h Maximum speed empty is 120 Km/h
