I think TSW4 will be renamed TSW2025 following the suspension update. Just my guess not ITK.

Don’t know why they don’t call it just Train Sim World.

That would be the sensible option, align with the TSC business model and sell us a decent set of DLC or a Season Pass.

Well, less than a week until we find out!

I also think there wil be a name change. It's gonna be TSW V

  8. At the end of the day, what we want is TSW 5 to be TSW 2025 instead, be a free upgrade like TSW 2020 and TSC did for years, and for it to continue like this. There is no reason for dovetail to release updates as TSW 2/3/4/5/6 and so on. Everything that was in TSW2, TSW 3, TSW4, and likely TSW5 could have been ported to TSW2020 as TSW2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and so on. Train Simulator Classic did that for years. You would get the upgrade for free, but if you didnt want to pay for routes you didnt want, you never had to. Heck, TSW2020 did it fine. TSW2 Rush Hour proved that an engine upgrade is possible within the same game, so that is not an excuse either. Every paid TSW update has been a cash grab.

"we"? You mean you? I want TSW V!!!!!

  10. In a way I'm grateful. Locking dlc behind a pay wall has definitely reduced my impulse buying.

This question is very clear. If DTG has no plans for TSW5 this year, then considering that they upgrade a headline account every two years, it will definitely be available next year.

Look up the Monty Python 'Dirty Hungarian Phrasebook' sketch, which the post I was replying to may or may not have been paraphrasing (as was I).:)

I think TSW does better in sales than TSC. So the yearly release seems to work just fine for them.

Remember 60% of players are on console and have no other choice like TSC.

I can give you a reason for yearly releases but you won't like it.

Sony and Microsoft require games and DLC to be certified which costs money for every release. You know you are going to sell more base game w/3 routes than potentially a single DLC.

Also making old users buy an upgrade pretty much guarantees that you will have enough in the coffers to certify all DLC fpr the year.

Another reason is simple to make money, like all businesses do. They don't make it out of the kindness of their heart. And according to the bean counters at Pullup they want/expect a yearly flow of money yearly for a TSW base game. As per their website.

A lot of updates and improvements have recently been released for TSW4, so if there is to be a TSW5, l hope it is an upgrade on TSW4 and not a new game. I am annually sick of laboriously reinstalling my 100 items of content into a new game. We don’t have to do it with TSC, so l hope it’s just a name change with TSW4

And then for us PC users, having to install our mods one by one again to see if they work or not

Stating the obvious, but this time tomorrow, we will all know everything DTG has in store for us. If it’s TSW5, it is bound to be yet another new game full of bugs, which will lose my interest totally in DTG for the future. I have a feeling that l will soon be very disappointed.
