Remember this is still just a remaster, the existing route will be upgraded but nothing new in terms of track or stations is being added, it’s still set in 2015/16 which means electrification will still be cut off at the Heathrow branch
There was a bit at the bottom saying “something blue” now if I think what it could be we may be in for a 50
I would say the 43 pullman. As that would tie in with the ECML diesel legends pack thats being worked on
Very glad to hear there is a remaster coming for GWE. After playing the Scottish remaster I'm really looking forward to see this route come to live
I'm wondering what Alex meant about "More blue things" ? If DTG don't have the GWR licence anymore, could they be thinking about taking the route back to a 1970s or 1980s setting?
Regarding the blue comment, my immediate thought was the FGW livery, which I'd be far more excited for than the hideous eye sore that is the Pullman HST. That livery simply does not suit the Class 43. If there was any route in TSW I wanted remastered it was this one, so I'm excited but also very curious. If no 387/800 is being added and the era is remaining the same, what exactly can they do with the timetable?
I recall many moons ago that Matt mentioned that multiple 166 formations were intended to be included but for some reason weren’t (Either because there was some issue at the time or they just forgot and decided to move on)
You can only really get an additional 3+3 formation unless you had the 165 which would allow 2+3 formations aswell
It was on the direct stream near the end on the illustration demonstrating what’s coming and roughly when
The ins and out of the GWE haven't been shared just yet... But reflecting on what Matt has said in the past, did he not say it would need a complete rebuild, and need to be completely resignalled? If that was the case I'm not saying it would change the period it's set in, nor the length, but it would be interesting to see the level of remastering that goes into it.
I thought he said it would only need a complete rebuild / resignalling if the period was to change? I certainly recall a similar explanation when a lot of people were requesting the route to be modernised with IETs and extended
There's not much information to speculate what will happen with the GWE remaster. Time will tell though. I'm already impatient with excitement for all the upcoming routes announced today!
bruh :/ when i was hoping to get an extension to anything outside of reading. I was more thinking about an HST in BR blue. Aka 43001 or 253 001 aka Sir Kenneth Grange. possibly to pay tribute to his recent passing? NO just no. Both trains are honestly horrible and we already have an IET to drive. Who even like this horrid trains with horrid seats.
That would be a separate route which I assume you’d be willing to pay for? Something like London - Swindon would be nice
GWE will be in the same era as it currently is (2015/2016). Electrification has been fixed with updated OHLE models and some extra bits around depots which were missing before. But the route nor the OHLE has been extended past what is currently in the route. The London Underground tracks have been remade and signalled to allow AI and player trains but that's about it for new track. As for something blue...you will get to find out very soon along with some other GWE surprises that have yet to be revealed
Potential return of steam? (probably wrong) Spoiler: SUPER POSSIBLE THEORY SECRET Great Western 6000 class in BR Express Passenger Blue?
Question, will the train itself be receiving updates too like additional functions on the HST MK3s? And allowing the end gangway door in first class be removable/openable?
There's a few stock improvements, such as both the HST and 166 getting the new weather glass, lighting and GSM-R. For the HST itself there's nothing new with gangways apart from some fixes to how the cables attached. There is also a new interactive guard panel in the Mk3s
Ah awesome to hear that the guard panels will finally be in used. As for why I asked for the gangway to be removable is for formation combabilities reasons. As I want to put 2 First class carriage together and being able to walk through the 2 carriages without a need to get off the train. And i mean this end gangway door that isnt interactable. Would be nice if this door is openable like on the EMT HSTs. Would this function be added to the first class carriage? In additions there are some stickers being placed wrong also wondering will you guys be fixing that on the MK3s?
No plans to make those doors work like the EMT one. Will take a look at the stickers though. I'm sure there is a first class GWR Mk3 that does have both doors open though so you can join them together and use the one with the closed doors at the end of the formation before the power car.
To my recollection even in the formation designer I dont think there is apart from the coach itself having one end being open. Problem is say if i want to make 2 first class carriage at the end and like 6 plus the first/buffet coach. I wont be able to reach one of the first class coach just by walking through the train due to the block door. And hence my suggestion for the door to be openable. Or can there be a version of the carriage where rear gangway door is completely removed and players can use that in formation designer? as for the sticker inaccuracy, i only simply watched youtube as references and found stickers are either placed in the wrong coach or just outright missing.
Suspension for all GWE stock (66, FKA, HKA, 166 and HST) Suspension for Diesel Legends includes the 08, Mk1 and Mk2. It's possible the rest of the stock get it but for now that's everything.
awesomeee. hope the open gangway door or have a version where its not there be considered for formation designer.
Thanks for the reply I was hoping for at least all the base trains and hearing diesel legends may also get it is great news
Would be nice to add the "speed control" to the cab in the HST if there is any development time available. Heard they wanted to do it when the route was originally released but there wasn't time for it.
It actually suprised me that GWE gets a remaster - I thought DTG won´t touch the route because of licensing (and yes, I know that this just meas not to add stations, trains and logos)
No speed control I'm afraid. GWE is a special one for me as it's the route that really got me into TSW. Plus the HST's being one of my favourite trains it felt like the right choice for the next remaster
Is that just visual, or can we now use electric rolling stock on the electrified lines without Off The Rails?
Proper fix. All track that should have electrification now correctly does. Missing wires and gantries have been added in places where they should have been (North Pole Depot for example) and the pantographs now correctly raise/lower.
Especially because its the first ever UK route for TSW. Its time they get a update look! Seriously GWR's First Class looks so nice and its good to see it with new lighting!
Just thought. Does this mean they might actually fix the numbering bug on the HST power cars after 6 years?
This made me smile a lot, I really am glad to see some polish on this route, as it does show its age now. I really look forward to what it will be like and if, as I suspect from the interactions in this thread, it is a workpiece of Liam I know it will be great! Can't speak for the 387s but 80xs aren't that bad, and lovely to drive, which is more important in the sim. Don't do that. The mental torment of dreaming this will happen when knowing it won't is too large.
Now you got me wondering if that something blue is changes to DLTOGW in terms of scenery because they use the same route hmmm.
I know it's probably a long shot, but is there any chance of improved MTU sounds for the HST? Also, would love for that "something blue" to be a certain something that's in my pfp, but given it wasn't allowed on release and I believe the GWR licence has been lost or something since, I'm not getting my hopes up for that, but I'm sure it's still something great anyway. Can't wait to hear more about the remaster, and see some previews. Likewise, GWE is a special one for me - while I started playing TSW before it's release, it wasn't until GWE's release where I really started to get into it. Like I said, can't wait
