Am I right in saying that reading the section I’ve attached an image of below that this is the first time with a new iteration of TSW that liveries already created will need to be uploaded to Creators Club to keep?????

I have dozens and dozens and dozens that I have never uploaded because they are not finished or are just for my own use so I’m now going to have to put them all on CC or lose them if I want to move to TSW5????

Oh nice they still haven’t found a way to transfer at once all our liveries…
It’s been this way since TSW2 and frankly when you have plenty of liveries it’s a bit exhausting to upload manually each, then, install them again on TSW5. I’m also wondering if liveries will be broken, like it was when transferring from TSW3 to TSW4.

I had to redo them and honestly I’m not in the mood to redo over 200 liveries every years, they promised us they’ll fix the broken liveries on TSW4 but the fifth iteration is coming in 3 weeks…

But I didn’t upload them before and I have liveries I created in TSW3 still available in Livery Designer in TSW4???

I can’t remember doing anything to move them over from TSW3 to TSW4 (copying the contents of folders over etc).

    I’m a PC Steam user.

TSW4 liveries are saved to location \My Games\TrainSimWorld4\Saved\SaveGames\UGCLiveries_0.sav
I doubt this format will change with TSW5; as when TSW4 launched, I just manually copied that file over from \TrainSimWorld3\Saved\SaveGames to \TrainSimWorld4\Saved\SaveGames (as I did from TSW2 to TSW3)

When TSW5 launches, I will just copy the file over to \TrainSimWorld5\Saved\SaveGames and I bet it will work fine

They probably do not want to alienate / confuse the non-PC users by getting technical, so easier to just say 'upload them to CC' which covers all bases

Oh ok my bad you’re on PC I didn’t know. I’m on PS5 and that’s the only procedure to do, that’s why I answered that.

Of course, PC users could simply copy their old TSW4 UGCLiveries file over to TSW5. As a console player, you cannot transfer program files and are dependent on CC.

When I switched from PS4 to PS5 or commuted from PC to console, I only had to download everything I had uploaded again. It's actually simple and easy to do. Even with liveries that are blocked for copyright or profanity reasons (it's enough to mention the name ÖBB or TGV), they can be downloaded by the same user who uploaded them, they're just not unlocked for all other users. If you have a livery that you want to keep but don't dare to show it to everyone else, just write in the description: caution, this is a test or transfer, then everyone else will know. Would be my approach... ;)

Afterwards you can delete the corresponding uploaded liveries from the CC, as they were completely downloaded with all layers in TSW5.

Now it has been mentioned I think I will have copied the liveries file over so will do the same again.

But……. A rather big issue I’ve thought of about the upload to CC process that has been decided upon.

DTG-Chris I’ve tagged you at this point as you replied to a comment I put on another post but this post is specific to the subject.

Has it been considered that users will have custom content that can’t be uploaded to CC because of copyright issues??? Therefore how can this content be uploaded to CC as it will just be removed and therefore the user will lose the work the have created for their own personal use.

Can content uploaded to CC by a user and then downloaded again from CC after upgrade to TSW5 be edited as it was before being uploaded or will it not be editable as with content normally downloaded from CC?

I ask this second question as I can’t think of anyone ever having to do this ands have never had to do it myself.
