I'm looking forward to the new gwe remaster, a route that is very much part of my heart, a route that I have travelled all my life. A route I was really wanting to get a remaster. And now it's happening, making it my all time favourite route. (non-bias)

 

I live on this route on it every day so I'm glad it's getting an update

The driver puts their number in first followed by the VT number which is the timetable code (not headcode, unless ECS).

They were withdrawn by 1986 and given the route is set in the late 80s, so probably 87 to 89 which would rule out the apt. Having said that 40s are on the route and apart from 40122 and a few others they were all gone by 85.

 

Most of the stop signs for Avanti here in North Wales (or at least Llandudno Junction) are still labelled as "VT stop" which is pretty cool to see!
The 221s and 805s currently use the same signs for the WAG sets (5+2 car stop) unless they're 10 car, in which they then use the VT stop sign board.

 

Also a part of my heart. Although I left Hayes back in 2019 it was nice seeing the GWML slowly transform over the years. So seeing it get a remaster is very nice

Maybe the new loco that's included isn't ready yet potentially? The Welsh network mention dmu, wondering if it'll be 231s or 756s?

I’m fairly certain that as long as you switch to an external camera view before entering photo mode then the driver (you) will be present. You don’t have a physical driver model when in the default driver camera view and that’s why the driver isn’t there if you go straight to photo mode from that camera view.

Although I really only play US routes and am waiting on the release of the Tadami Line, the Dutch Route piques my interest for the rolling stock. Mainly because the ICM3 heavily resembles JR West's 273系, 273-series, EMUs. Might just grab it and head straight to livery creator

 

A question i would like answered is there going to ever be any US freight content for TSW5 we haven t gotten any since TSW 3 we were told that some freight content is being worked on . We need a update something re assurance that its coming . As a US customer im upset that we only get passenger routes and in a country where freight is dominant..we want and expect more freight content it s really getting fustrating ..we get ignored on this and its become a major issue on the forums if anyone at DTG reads them this needs addressed and Freight needs to get rolling again on US routes ..

 

Although if you look at it, the Xbox store says the Pendolino and WCML are not sold separately. So if you wanted to buy them as standalone it could be a bit of a wait and the cost much the same as the pre order costs for the whole lot now.

 

I'm also quite pleased to see this one, and even more so as they mentioned Diesel Legends pack as well. Hopefully we can finally run the express Class 52 services and score better than bronze only.
Now, if they also pulled some magic and include an option to turn the OHLE off when running the Diesel Legends, that'd be super (I know, it won't happen. But one can always wish, right?).

 

Are you referring to the diesel Legends timetable? because if the 52 had services on the main timetable, they would be railtours

 

They will be available separately but only on release, not before.

 

I'm really waiting for this one as well. I was impressed by the Blackpool Branches, and this will definitely be on my shopping list, too. I hope they can sneak in the Windermere branch someday in the future (at least I didn't see it listed yet).

 

Yes, I meant the Diesel Legends for GWE. In the current version of the DL, none of the Class 52 services give enough points to score more than bronze medal. I know most people don't care, but I like to try to complete the Journey Mode runs to gold level if I can.

Tadami Line is famous for its beautiful scenery and UW do pay a lot of attention in scenery, those screenshots look awesome.
The first screenshot is the Daiichi Tadami River Bridge (Ja:第一只見川橋梁）, a bridge that is consistently ranked among the top three famous bridges in Japan and becomes a famous shooting point for railway fans and photographers.

Hope that UW can represent this in game, the autumn foliage season in this area is so beautiful.

The third screenshot is the “Miyashita three brothers” (ja:宮下アーチ3兄（橋）弟), located in Mishima Town, Fukushima Prefecture, is the the only three arch bridges in Japan that can be seen together, the bridge on the top is the New Miyashita Bridge (ja: 新宮下橋) on National Route 252, on the middle is the Ohtani-gawa Bridge (ja:大谷川橋梁)on the JR Tadami Line
and the bottom one is Miyashita Bridge on the prefectural road (ja:県道宮下橋). This location is a famous train spotting point along Tadami line, and here is what it looks like irl.

Hope that UW can share more infos about its scenery and which rolling stock it would use, and I can't wait for its release.

Union Works / DTG are really keeping me in suspense. I cannot wait to find out what kind of rolling stock they decide to depict, and to see the renders. Fingers crossed for the KiHa 40.

I want to see "free roam" and "scenario planner" banned from any announcement articles. "We're not going to add it, but you can do so in a a way that's 1% as good" is not a selling point.

 

yep... Free roam has known issues/bugs, like neutral sections not working, among other things

 

Even if it worked perfectly, it wouldn't be anything close to as good as having it in timetable, as part of the overall immersive experience. It's not just about being able to drive the Flixtrain, it's about seeing it from a passing train, or seeing it whip through a station. Timetable mode is TSW.

 

timetable mode is probably the x-factor in why I dont play TSC... it has worse UI for me, non-walkable cab and such... but the timetable mode (and pretty user friendly livery editor) is why I play TSW... and I believe my trust is paying dividends, as TSW is gradually opening up with new routes, different locos, an expert loco, new features that are very cool and will be very cool... such a good time to see the game improving... even though it often stumbles along the way, you can see they LISTEN and incorporate stuff in time

cant wait to play new routes, especially looking forward to how Frankfurt Hbf will make my PC burn lol (too bad we also dont get Frankfurt Flughafen station, but well, cant have everything )

 

yeah, and the Frankfurt and Offenbach S-Bahn tunnels are missing, meaning the playable S-Bahn services will be very short. Shame, as that would have been a cool addon.

 

but then we get sth we didnt get with Kassel Wurzburg, where we only got highspeed line and not regional one(s) that run alongside it on different route... here we get the highspeed line and the regional one as well ... kinda looking forward to BR 114 as well, looks like cool evolution of 112 which has some interesting driving quirks to it

 

perhaps I should cancel my pre order then as I’m not fussed for the other routes.

 

It would be good if we could do a straight swap of the train we are driving in the timetable, i.e. take any service from MSB and swap out 'our' train for the Flixtrain, it's too much hassle to recreate a service in Scenario Planner just so we can try a train on a different route, and free roam doesn't let you do station stops.

 

I'm really looking forward to this - the free update and the WCML with Pendolino could be fun. I don't play much outside the UK routes, so being able to just buy that is a bonus for me.

With the route hopping option, they should do the MK to Birmingham line so you could do a service all the way by changing routes, so getting past the limitations on the system. It is a shame to see that these trains aren't layering into BCC, so that we can get some more movements at New Street, but never mind.

Obviously, the new route from Just Trains has to meet the standards they set with Blackpool - and good to see it building on from that - a little shame that they haven't included the line on to Heysham as well, but JT have set standards on expansion packs that others really need to match.

I'm also liking the look of the Cardiff routes as well.

So, I'm happy with this upgrade and what is promised!

 

Yes, you are by no means alone in your frustration.

The only dedicated US freight content that's been confirmed will come from High Iron Simulations but there's really no information as to when this will be available.

I wonder, wouldn't it be possible to re-model the Class 484 a little bit to better resemble the D78? At least removing the headlights and adding the old ones (quality good for viewing from a distance) would do a lot and should be just single hours of work especially considering that each livery uses a separate 3D model.
