Guilty. We must have the first take we did somewhere - I didn't tell Alex I was going to do it and he collapsed in a fit of giggles.

Must indeed say that they nailed it. Looking at the full roadmap a lot of requests of the community have been fulfilled.

DTG JD Please could you find sometime to show that. Especially as part of this thread. Would be epic.

I didn't want to speak too soon, but with both road maps out, I would agree with this. They have done a brilliant job of this, with help from the 3rd parties too. The first time in months I have enjoyed reading a roadmap. Oh and I must say JD, you did make me chuckle multiple times during that stream with some of the things you said, and did.

Really good job done by all the team at DTG, great presenters, great editing, great news and great overall! Loved DTG Alex 's Take A Ticket show, I'd like to see that return at some point in the future if/when possible and all the hosts of each piece of content were great! :D

The main thing I like about being here on the forums at the moment is that there are barely any negative comments going around, yes there are a few little needles in the haystack that are still poking holes at whatever they can, but a LOT less than what there usually are - it's really nice to see (and read)! ;)

I can definitely second this! The cheek stroke got me dying, as it did Alex based on JD's earlier post!

Jut thinking there is one department which did better in TSW4. That is the section of marketing which developed the trailer video. All due respect to the composer as it is a lovely piece, but can't help but have wanted another 80s classic like last year. ;);)

Okay, I can also second this - I absolutely LOVE 80s songs, so having Depeche Mode (Just Can't Get Enough) on the trailer was great for me.. kept rewatching just to listen to the song.. then I went ahead and listened to the full thing!;)

Must admit I did rewatch it multiple times for enjoyment as well. Great song with great times attached to it.

Sadly I don't have memories from those years (I wasn't even thought of during the 80s!) but thanks to my dad, I know most songs from that era. :)

Must admit Just Can't get enough holds more recent memories of the City Ground and promotion at Wembley, than memories back in the day for me. In actual fact I think I once said I couldn't stand it many, many years ago!

Haha that's fair enough, most 80s songs just make me think of my dad; singing along to them all, especially since he introduced me to them all as I mentioned. (Namely Just Can't Get Enough and most Ultravox songs)

My only issue with the presentation was DTG Alex's wallet. I mean seriously, that thing was so 1985! You gotta get a new one!!!!

With TSW 5, the first time it looks like this becomes a true sucessor to TSC and it feels kind of different than just a parallel franchais. TSW moves forward with a drive, which makes it very interesting currently.

    - so many devs as 3rd parties jumped on board
    - Rolling stock variety has increased to make timetables VERY imersive, rather then the lonley trips like in the tsw2 times along depressing stations without a.i services.
    - Lets be honest, would somebody go back to the time before freeroam? Just spawn a quick service and drive in the middle of the timetable. In my opinion the most powerful feature introduced with TSW4.

DTG nailed it (if they can keep up the quality!)

Throwing my opinions into this, I was very impressed with the announcement. My main gripe with TSW in recent years going to these yearly releases is the $40-$50 that would be required for a DLC I might not necessarily want, but in doing so I then get access to bug fixes or to put in another $40 for any DLCs I want that year. To offer a free upgrade pack so existing players don't need to buy a route is impressive, and exactly what I've been complaining about for years at this point, so well done on that and it definitely makes me have a better opinion about the game.

Moving on to the nearly equally as hot topic of US content I will echo the disappointment of SB being the route for TSW5 even though we've known about it for awhile now. It was nice to see a lot more details about it, including the funny highways, which I am going to just track to unreal assets not having a 6 lane road that could just be plopped in, ill admit I wasn't entirely surprised at seeing the streetlights there, my hopes about the highway portion weren't high even though the part of the route is interesting to me, but the streetlights in the middle of the highway are just about on par with the quality I expected from US content, which is a little unfortunate but just the reality.

As one who does beta test for a decently sized game, reporting on things definitely does not mean it will be fixed, TSWs scenery like vehicles feels rather poor, and understandably so since for the most part isn't a huge part of the game's scenery, however routes like SB may put some light on some of these issues given how the route is laid out.

Boston-Worcester was definitely the highlight of the stream to me. That might be because it was a completely new route that was announced unlike San Bernardino, It could be personal preference of MBTA over Metrolink, it could be because we don't have scenery pictures so there aren't things to be let down about, or it could be that cactus is doing the signaling and his work tends to lead to great routes. Definitely excited about that one and do plan to get it.

Little bummed we didn't see any info on High Iron Sims projects in either of the 2 roadmaps or the stream, its kind of obvious what the gameplay pack will contain in terms of motive power, but I guess they just aren't ready to show yet.

I'm excited for TSW5. I think TSW is slowly but surely building into a very good game. It's took a long time to get to this but as routes get more detailed and we get ones we desire I think more people will stick around.
I love that old routes are being remastered, well done DTG!
Keep the updates and improvements coming, I'd love to see a revival of steam locomotives in the future especially across more countries.
    Congrats to the team!
