Hi all, does anyone know how to enable the red flashing lamp that should be present on the end of the train once a runaround has been completed?
I think on the older locos and rolling stock they just appear automatically once you set the direction of the train. Manual placement only works on certain locos and rolling stock. Mainly newer additions to tsw.
The player doesn't need to do anything (and cannot). The EOTD placement is set in the timetable: when a service starts, you can set the EOTD on either the front or rear of the formation. (Not the same as the direction of the service: when loaded trains run from Newhaven to Lewes, the locomotive is facing backwards so you have to set the EOTD to the front of the formation to show up on the last aggregate wagon.) I built a timetable mod for East Coastway and had to figure out how this works behind the scenes.
Manual tail lamp placement was available on Tees Valley Line... then DTG decided to remove it from every other route. Sometimes tail lamps will automatically appear at service start time, but if you are continuing on from a previous service, you'll often be stuck with a tail lamp on the front of the train.
Some tail lamps Will even auto appear on the front of tour class 66 JT enabled the placement of manual tail lamps on their pacer.
I only noticed it because I was doing an immersion run on the East Coastway.. its funny how the small stuff stands out when youre in the moment so to speak.. Dammit..
By the way, if anyone knows the length of these trains in feet, that would be very helpful information.
Pause the game while sitting in the driver's seat and you'll see formation length in yards. 3 feet in a yard. Also, since the main purpose of the train length is for the button for speed limits (at least in game), an estimate is good enough.
