the route is cool remaster is cool and all but i don’t like that some of the trains are unbranded like don’t they already have the license for fgw and some others why couldn’t they get the licenses necessary?

Elizabeth Line opened in May 2022.

The remaster is set circa 2017.

At no point was the GWR livery on all GW HSTs in service. Right up until the very end there were FGW sets and some mixed sets. Until the 'Castle' HST refurbishment, very few Mark 3s received the GWR interior except for the first class coaches which as far as I know all received the new interior. Therefore the FGW interior that was cut was technically incorrect, although having it was appreciated.

"In Hertford, Hereford and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly happen". C'mon name the film without Googling. People my age or older will get it straight away. ;)

Exactly this. In the remaster all 'FGB' HSTs in will have a matching interior with 'GWG' also having their own interiors. The amount of FGB vs GWG HST's you will see on the route should be fairly accurate going off the numbers I have of what HSTs were in what livery at the time.

I must admit this one came out of the blue and got me really excited. I remember when I first purchased TSW for my PS4 and loaded up GWE and the HST was gorgeous. Then over time we got Diesel Legends, and freight layers added.

Now we are getting a complete remaster and I am so pumped for it. It'll be spectacular.

Now we simply need some locomotive dlcs on it, even if unbranded, and it will be the best it can be.

It's a bit disappointing to see that (assuming I've read this right) the 166 and HST in FGW livery will have the GWR interior. I guess I'll still need to have TSW2 installed for my FGW fix.

FGB has their own interior. GWG also has their own. No sharing between them.

This route pre-dates the Elizabeth line.

I hope the 165/166 does get added to livery editor. But the first timetable was set in 2015 and the new one will be 2017, so predating Elizabeth Line.

Route is set in 2017 so its pre October 2017 when the 800s were in service.

We don't know yet. We won't know until it comes very close to release.

Better to wait for a finished product than to be impatient.

We will most likely hear more in the October Roadmap. Hopefully we can have a few more screenshots between now and then to whet our appetites. Liam gave a good rundown of included changes in my GWE Remaster Masterlist thread, which are the green highlighted items. Unsure if this is the final list or if more changes are being made. Can't wait to see this route through new eyes.

I have to say I quite like the addition of bonus content by means of debranded or slightly-inaccurate trains.
Using the 166 as a 165, the 484 as a D Stock, or some debranded 387/166/HSTs, are a fairly nice way of bringing life to a route which, as is the case with GWE, has fairly limited opportunities for additions.

It works for now, although I would rather have the actual stock. For things like Heathrow Express which have no hope of making it in, fine. But for stuff that has even a slight chance (GWR 387 and 165) I hope DTG don't see this like they do the high-entry Dostos.

The unbranded extra liveries are purely to fill empty spaces in the timetable where we have the right or close to the actual stock. If we ever did get the right stock for these services then I would like to go back and swap the unbranded ones out.

Completely agree with you there. Utilising existing stuff and making it as useful as possible... And in this instance it will work really nicely. Hopefully DTG see Liams work and will consider this approach for other routes where possible.

Exactly as I suspected Liam. Perhaps some of the missing classes/types will be the subject of future locomotive dlcs. I would by all of the genuine types for fullness of my collection.

Great to see the first route I played in TSW come much more to life! I do have a question which I think hasn't been asked yet: will the DLGW Mark 2's have dynamic coach numbers now or will they still all display W12345?

Another question; will all the trains have the new wheel motion blur effects or will it still have the old effects?

Very excited for this. Would love to see the Windsor/Eton branch.
These remasters show DTGs passion is there still.
Also please remove those 2d npcs from Paddington Station and let us walk around the concourse. Plus scenery has come along way since the founders edition.

As much as I too would love to see the branches, Windsor and Eton Central is not coming as this is a extension which is beyond the scope of a remaster. Now that Route Hopping is about to become a thing, perhaps someone will rectify the situation and make the seven or so branches that are currently missing. We can only live in hope.

Apologies if this question has already been answered. I was wondering if the new timetable will feature more realistic timings for the Class 166 services. I have barely played these services since the 166’s acceleration was adjusted to make it more realistic.

While I always prefer more realism in the sim, I found that this made the timetable extremely difficult to keep to. The few services I tried seemed to require full power departures from nearly every station and close to full service brake applications for station stops. Obviously this is completely unrealistic and not how they are driven in real life.

The route is still set in 2016, and the Valentas were long gone. In fact, the blue "dynamic lines" livery was inaugurated in 2006, five years after the last Great Western HSTs were re-engined.

DTG Liam, does the 1972 stock operate as ai for the central line?

That's for the Hammersmith and City line from Paddington.

The 72 stock will be at Ealing Broadway for the Central Line.

Is this the Class 360? What would you use in its place?
