Hello Folks. As a TSW player, I can say that downloading and buying new TSW games can be a real pain. So here's my idea: TSW5 would be the last TSW part, but the game would get regular updates and players would be able to appreciate TSW more. This would allow the developers to focus on making the DLCs better, which the players would also really like, because then the developers would have more time to work on add-ons instead of a new core game every year. This would solve the pain and problems of mod creators who have to convert and/or reprogram their mods to the new TSW every year. In addition, the players would then not have to download all their DLCs + new core game every year, which saves storage space and nerves. A unified TSW part would ensure that the team can focus on developing DLCs and updates. It would also relieve the burden on the TSW player because (as mentioned) they would not have to download all their files again. Greetings from Germany
They'd still be spending the same time on the new core features for regular core updates. It'd mostly be the marketing team who'd have a bit more time off. And if a route's not quite ready but has a deadline to meet, we know from experience it doesn't matter if it's a core route to a new edition or not, it's going to be rushed out unfinished and patched later. In most games with ongoing updates, mod creators still need to update their mods every time a new version comes out, because they need to account for the new core game features. It would change the tempo of those mod updates, sure, because they'd not be all at once, but they'd still be needed as routes got new features added, etc. It would remove the faff of doing so on platforms where it's not automatic, yes, but you'd still need to replace a bunch of routes as new features were added, the same as now. The amount of actual data being downloaded would still remain similar as it grabbed all the route updates, it would just be happening in the background.
I made some space for the new version, so I should be fine, although cos of the connection I assume I wont play it until Sept 13th lol
