Is it possible to limit the number of passengers on a given train in TSW 4. So it is not always full with no spare seats to sit in when you board a train on a route. Sometimes this happens to me and I have to restart my on foot session.
Not without mods, although if you wait for that train to open its doors at the first station (ensuring that all doors are closed before the AI opens them), most of the passengers will disembark anyway.
Not only that but I find that I often have difficulty moving around stations, especially on bridges because there are too many people. I have noticed this more since upgrading to an Xbox Series X (I know there are more passengers on Series 9 consoles and PCs).
Never really encountered full trains in TSW. If anything they are too quiet. ECML should have people standing in the vestibules on many services, they are so busy IRL. Routes like BML or SEHS in the peaks should have trains full and standing with passengers stood inside the passenger saloons and the vestibules.
I remember the Bakerloo Line being fully packed in-game. Maybe that was just Elephant and Castle, though. Regardless, even with Rush Hour passengers, the ratio of passengers boarding to passengers waiting for the next train is far too high.
Then you should look at Class 313, where at the start of a service 50 people gets off the 3-car train and still no seats available.
The passenger system is very buggy and needs a total overhaul imo. I asked about this in a live stream nearly a year ago and the response was they are looking into it… It seems like there’s no consistency. For example AI 72 stock trains are usually totally empty, as well as most of the platforms on the Bakerloo and when there are passengers waiting, they don’t board anyway! 710’s are always overcrowded regardless of how many leave the train and when they do leave, they just gather in the same spot blocking the platform. Not to mention also, aimlessly walking on the tracks, falling through bridges, sinking into platforms. I appreciate the fact that there has been some upgrades for TSW4 but ultimately it could do with an overhaul.
No. All 72 stock in the timetable has passengers (evidence is that when you spawn one, you can't sit in any seat), but are all invisible for some reason. They get off at the first stop the train arrives, but before that happen, platform passengers think the train is full so they don't board. Unfortunately, AI train passengers only activate when you're close, which means they'll look empty and behaves like a new train. EDIT: forgot to mention, some coaches are bugged so they never have visible passengers
Weird. Some people are saying the opposite... there's "never enough passengers." That's why my favorite number is zero. Freight trains for the win ;-)
Early TSW had separate versions of wagons for "empty" and "loaded", this was later redone with rush hour with endlessly spawning people at platforms. What we really need is the system that OMSI used thirteen years ago already, where passengers spawn ten minutes before "their" train, with each station configured with how many people should be waiting for boarding and exiting in different times of day. This would eliminate the current nonsense where expresses pass through overcrowded platforms in rural villages even when no train is stopping there for next hour.
Yeah, I use passenger mode mostly and is annoying when you can't park your backside. I've looked on godmode to see if there's a command to kick off all the passengers but nothing obvious stood out and a couple of commands I did try didn't remove them. I wouldn't mind if the passengers looked semi-real but they just look like dummies and ruins the immersion for me
I dunno, I get some dirty looks from 'em. Mind your business, "Steve NPC" I don't criticize YOUR driving! ;-)
TSW3 broke the ENTIRE passenger system. Its not even closed to call it "fixed". Actually on bakerloo in tsw2, the tube trains had standing passengers. Now the entire train is empty. Seems DTG botched something with the invisible passengers and left it behind. At least now they have all kind of luggage, phones etc. which is nice.
If you watch the TSW2 Bakerloo Line preview, every train that arrived had the maximum capacity of passengers. It seems that when they ported a lot of routes over to TSW3 and beyond the passenger behaviour stopped working as it previously did.
