Guys I got an idea Dovetail could do: East Coastway Remaster **Services** Class 377/4 - Brighton to Eastbourne/Ore/Hastings and other terminals aswell as Seaford-Lewes (on to London Victoria), Eastbourne to London Victoria Class 313 - Brighton to Lewes/Seaford/Hove/Portsmouth etc Depending on the time of the map - maybe layer the 166 from GWE from when they operated in Brighton. AI Only - Class 700 - AI services from Brighton - owners of class 700 AI Only - Class 387 - AI services from Brighton, 2tph - owners of London Commuter AI Only - Class 377 - AI services from Brighton to London Victoria, 1tph Would be a nice improvement and definitely something Dovetail should consider aswell as making it more realistic and making Eastbourne a lil more traffic as rn its a bit dead compared to what it could be.
I have wanted East Coastway improved since its disappointing announcement that the route ignores anything after Eastbourne towards Ore. Yet, recent routes have seen expansions and remastering whilst East Coastway continues to gather dust. I hope I am wrong and they are working on it with expansions and remastering as we speak.
I have previously suggested that BML traffic be added to ECW to bring Brighton to life. The current traffic is spartan at best and does not reflect the real Brighton.
You need to separate the ideas of remasters and extensions as they are two different things. A remaster will ONLY improve what already exists. Extensions are pretty much fully rebuilt routes in order to give new working sections. If ECW does get the remaster treatment, it will not add any new mileage at all. However I do agree that it would be much better if it reached Ore or Hastings and also gained the Wivelsfield branch but it will probably never happen just as GWE will not get the Thames Valley passenger and freight branches any time soon, more to the pity.
I hope it gets a remaster and extension at some point. Every ‘new’ TSW release could include one extended route and two all new routes.
Why can’t they be both? A route can be remastered and extended at the same time. Just look at Southeastern High Speed.
