I have enjoyed it quite a lot, but then, I am not a local or someone who knows the route too well... the reason I dont play it more than I usually do is that the speeds are quite low, so I reserve this one for when I want a longer but chill time I am hoping for more routes that have nice length and can support both regional/commuter and IC traffic... and branches/different routings - loving it when there isnt just one variant of how you can play a route, like being sent onto different tracks, utilizing different underpasses or flyovers... oh yea looking forward to that... thats another thing I love in TSW/trains in general - the sound and all when going over a joint/switch, changing track etc... the sound bogies make when passing the point ... and how the train is bending... especially if going out/into a major station and the train looking like a winding snake the map has me kind of excited, but they mentioned shorter services... I hope that those take like around 30mins to complete, I dont really enjoy stuff thats shorter than like 25-30 mins
Is it me or is the flickering much improved in the WCML stream? Is that because of it not having AA turned on?

Kinda annoyed about Harry Closing the WCML South- Not Good Enough Thread. I mean absolutely pathetic, everyone was giving really good criticisms and nothing was personal. Like I said on a post We are giving constructive Feedback and correct criticisms because we are passionate and want the best. DTG don't seem to feel the same. I expect an update tomorrow. It was a really good thread. Basically we were all giving this feedback for DTG to make WCML really good. And DTG are like 'Nah, thanks for your feedback but go an F yourself' basically. What snowflakes of the community reported it saying their was attacks towards staff?
I didn't necessarily see stuff aimed towards staff, but I did see some swearing and some nasty arguments starting, and I will say in fairness, that the parties involved were warned by JD and continued not to listen to the warnings, so they sort of brought it on themselves. All the valid criticism has just been brought forward to this thread though.
You know what grinds my gears the fact that it ended at MKC. Not only that but the timetable being in the state it is. At the end of the day man it’s kind of sad that asking for DTG to be more ambitious gets shut down quickly. Especially with rugby literally being 4 stations away (2 if you don’t include Northampton branch) and an extra 30 mins of gameplay. Even if it ended at MKC the timetable is so poor it ends up being a net negative. This route is really giving SEHS pre extension
Mate, totally with you! That has really boiled my blood a bit. Rugby is much more acceptable. MK ugh just annoying we only get a 30-45 min run with the 390 is just depressing as hell. Happy we are finally getting the 390 and 350 but man :/ 50 miles as well.
In a different post Alex confirmed that their post-release plan will be posted this week. I assume that they try to have this post out before the stream on Wednesday in an attempt to "safeguard" the livestream from WCML questions.
Or they will just do the same as they did with questions about the licensing with the WCML stream. Put out a satement a few hours before the stream and as soon as a question about it is raised say there is a link in the chat to said article.

Couldn't agree more, ending at MK killed it for me regards the Pendo. Similar to ECML when they could have taken it to York which was just another 20 minutes by Azuma. Always so over zealous with restricting us all the time and preventing average routes from becoming great routes. It's ok doing short routes for regular stoppers, but once you start playing with fast expresses they really have to up their game if they expect us to pay top dollar.
The scenery isn't done properly so just as well it doesn't include the beautiful rural scenery of Northants+ the Watford gap canal view as it wouldn't be done properly i feel.

Yes..you can buy it with early access up to the end of day on the 16th. I don't plan in getting it until the 13th if I do.
I don’t blame Gen-8 players, but you can’t be complaining about the timetables when you’re running a piece of hardware that has 9x less processing power than a Gen-9 console. e.g. (PS4 - 1.84 teraflops vs PS5 - 10.3 teraflops). DTG have to make cuts somewhere for a smoother experience on Gen-8, unless you want a constant 20fps

Yes, don’t let the money burn a hole… As I just commented in another thread, for me the final, final decision probably rests on how Frankfurt to Fulda and the Flixtrain comes across. WCMLS as we know looks a bit of a dud. SBD has promise but the awful lighting, shiny road and ground textures. Which means the German route needs to impress, hopefully accompanied by some last minute fixes to WCML and/or more than vague assurances that a more comprehensive makeover is top of the priority list.
I've decided the same, I have a feeling it will be good though on Wednesday. So I figured it is $20 less (with the discount) for 2 routes and 1 loco. I own Cajon, not thrilled about WCML. But I do like the Pendolino, and Bernie so if Fulda and the Flixtrain look good and I want (It was the one I was looking forward to anyways) then its worth it. I get 2 routes and a loco I want, a free loco, and a meh route that may be improved to a good route for free. And bonus to me if they do fix it. I won't have to pay another $39.99 for it then.
Yes that’s the rub. £54 while it looks expensive there is quite a lot in there for the money, quality notwithstanding. And part of me wants to drive WCMLS and the DC Line, warts and all. And how many of us are really prepared to wait potentially until Easter next year to get an effective discount on the full £60 selling price?
Yeah, but the problem is that you may have to wait till Easter for an effective discount, but you will probably have to wait till Easter for an effective TSW5 or WCML and the funny thing is you probably know I am right. Don't get it because it is shiney and new because if it turns out to be a dog you will have that DTG have fooled me again feeling and they have my money again. You may lose out on a discoint, but that is what DTG are hoping, that people will see the discount and pull the trigger. You would be better buying the game at full price knowing it now works fully, than to buy a discounted broken game on a promise that some of the issues might or may get fixed, my advise
Yeah, it is a free country till it's not. But there is no way someone can even try to defend wcml, ain't no way.
I wish also they would commit to making extra layers for the BCC and Glossop , it would be such a waste not to include these new trains on those routes . This would be something else that would persuade me more to get the deluxe edition . I probably will anyway , but this would have helped sway me .

There was talk on the stream of guard mode being basically ready for BCC so hoping they might sneak in the Pendo as part of that update. Here’s hoping.
Personally, I would suggest that if you’ve pre-ordered on Steam then hang on to the pre-order, wait until early access starts then set yourself a 1 hour and 50 minute timer. If after that time there’s enough in it for you then great, if not then request a refund. Constantly flip-flopping backwards and forwards will drive you mad. Watch the pre-streams but don’t be swayed by them. In my opinion the vast majority of the ‘ambassadors’ are pretty poor and many play the game on machines that struggle to stream and play at the same time. Remember that YouTube is YouTube, you could make a pig look like a princess with the right editing and this applies to TSW 10-fold with pre-recorded videos. Only by seeing it and experiencing it for yourself can you make a proper decision. I can’t help feeling that’s a metaphor for life. Ignore about 98% the LOVE you see on the internet (particularly people who call themselves ‘influencers’) and make a calculated, considered decision for yourself. FWIW I haven’t pre-ordered it but will purchase when EA starts. I really don’t see the point in rushing to pre-order a digital product…it’s not going anywhere! I’d rather have the £60-£110 in my bank account earning me interest than pointlessly giving it to a company for absolutely no reason at all.
Agreed. Even more so when the pre-order discount doesnt go any where for another 5 days before general release! It’s interesting that other forum users are now seeing what the ambassadors are…a few months back when I dared to criticise the ambassadors I was shot down in flames by many forums users! I’ll reiterate what I said at the time and what Jetwash mentioned above….the ambassadors are poor in the main.
Trying to be fair to the ambassadors (I see your point - the word 'ambassador' has always made me nervous in terms of their perceived objectivity, if such a thing ever really exists), none of them have actually 'reviewed' it yet, have they?
I agree entirely. I have not pre-ordered, for which I am thankful after watching the WCML stream. Right now my backside is sore and aching from sitting on the fence waiting for the DTG announcement. I could not believe that during the stream inside Euston that the team were swooning over the luggage trollies whilst completely ignoring the bright shiny carriage opposite. There are just so many things that need fixing in WCML. I am not going to fall into the trap of watching the stream again and reaching for the rose tinted glasses. I'm still waiting... DTG the ball is now in your court.
The ambassadors will probably do what they always do, just go through the stream not mentioning anything that is wrong. Why? Because they want to continue being ambassadors of course!
Even if it doesn’t (I’m not sure if it runs on other routes IRL), you could use free mode or scenario planner to run it on, say, the Carlisle route when it comes or the TGV route if you have that. That will give you a longer run.

Fair. But it's not as if they're hiding anything, i.e. we know they are ambassadors, so we have to adjust our expectations accordingly. YouTube is full of this stuff and much of it is a lot more subtle than what's happening with TSW, so I don't feel particularly manipulated by it, unless there's part of me that's desperate to be swayed in one direction or the other, which is ultimately on me.
I can see your point, but going on past experience these folk tend to gloss over any significant problems in the past, and just give a general overview of the route and what it contains. In actual fact watch one and you've seen them all. I have known the British Ace pick up on a few things, so of the ambassadors I'd say he is the most honest.
