Here is a question, how long will it take to fix wcml, the guard mode, lighting, time table. How many months?
I was playing The West Coast mainline the class 710s which are used for London overground are missing. I don’t know if it’s going to be next week or this week. I’ve got the London overground installed on TSW4 so I don’t know why the services are not showing I’m playing on PS5
DTG Matt thanks for managing to stay on this thread and respond to some of the feedback on the route. Really is appreciated, one thing about the 350 is there any chance that we get more 8 car 350s added to the timetable (especially on tring and Milton Keynes stoppers) as a lot of them are 4 car instead of the usual 8 car
And this is why we don't early access, I advise players to wait till bugs are fixed, otherwise you are just the paying beta testers.
It’s not a bug, it’s clearly defined in streams & FAQ’s. TSW4 content will be available for TSW5 on the 17th.
The barebones timetable really starts to be noticable south of Tring. I was the only train at Watford Jct at 0715. Haven't seen any LO traffic, but did see LU at H&W. And now....there seems to be an unclearable red light starting just south of Wembley Central. Despite there being no trains in Euston itself. Looks like they've been stacking up all morning tbh (that new map is pretty cool i gotta say). Gonna give it a few minutes, but no mainline traffic in either direction is moving south of me and i'm already late 6.6 miles from Euston after being ahead or on-time the whole way. And ...now i'm quitting after being stuck another 5 min. 2K02 on Series X if anyone wants to try to replicate. The route itself has massive potential, and TSW5 overall seems good, but yikes this timetable!!! Please commit to fixing it DTG!
Since I cannot find a DTG created feedback thread, I'll post my feedback here. I started by driving 2K20 Milton Keynes Central to London Euston. Good: The class 350 looks and sounds great Most stations looked excellent The approach into Euston looked amazing There are good areas of scenery, it looks especially good close to the track. The class 377/2 transformer buzz was present Bad: Some areas of scenery look quite bad, it's clear this route has been rushed. Stations outside London should NOT have Oyster pads. The previously mentioned off route destination issue, which annoys me to no end. The font for the Overground stations isn't the TFL one, and it looks wrong. Harrow and Wealdstone lacks detail, the clock tower is missing. Most 350 services are 4 coaches when most if not all are 8. The route map collectible has reverted back to that horrible looking blue cartoonish one The Ugly: The frame rate between Watford Junction and Euston was awful, I don't usually complain about performance, but it took away from the experience quite a bit. On arriving into Euston, which was about 12:40ish there were loads of trains, but when I spawned into a 390 service at 09:17, and the frame rate was better, but probably only because there were barely any trains present at all.
Harrow Wealdstone platform 2 is narrow with large polls sitting in the middle of the platform. The top section of the platform buildings are white not grey, platform 1 has a door with hand rails either side. I am sure there are even more things I have missed.
If I may provide a suggestion, I would highly recommend you contract Joethefish to do a complete WCML timetable overhaul. His London-Brighton timetable is one of the best in the game to this day and it would be a shame for WCML to end up a wasted route due to the poor timetable.
On Steam Installed blank base, then had to exit Steam and reload steam to get the dlc installed. I'll let you know in 45 minutes if dlc old and new is installed. Update All installed as it should; profile too. On WCML Thanks to the team.
I know it’s not strictly to do with the WCML but would it be possible to have a setting so that AWS, TPWS etc are on by default? So we can globally pick if we want safety systems on or off without having to set them for every train?
You may want to cancel and restart the installation. There was a bug that accidentally send out a dev version of TSW4 instead of TSW5. (It got resolved about 10 min ago)
Something that i'm looking into, to see what the feasibility is. It might not be as straight forward as it looks due to how trains are all coded uniquely - but will see what the options are. Not promising anything at all at this stage beyond looking into it. Matt.
Is there a particular reason the timetable has ended up in this state? I’ve noticed above you mentioned it hasn’t met our expectations but this is below par by DTG’s latest standards. There’s layers such as the ROG37, RHTT & 08’s that could very realistically be used here, but it seems the only layer to have got in was the 710. Then you look at the incorrect consists for the 350’s and general lack of traffic across the route - it’s a huge step down from previous timetables.
On Series S, the past 3 services I’ve tried to take into Euston have all crashed the game around a mile down the line from Euston.
Odd, Series S was showing up with lots of free ram for us - but most likely cause of crashes is out of memory - can you try disabling some layers and see if that helps?
This is at least encouraging. But will not be getting my hopes up until we see something tangible (if we ever do). As it stands, I should have been having a go of WCML tomorrow (I’m at work tonight), but will not be partaking due to the lacklustre timetable and the cancellation of my pre-order. Interesting reading the issues being flagged in the feedback streams in the meantime.
It was the traditional isolation switch, the type you use a key for, but I will look for a circuit breaker next time.
Matt, any chance of getting the Pendos turned around on WCMLS? Almost all of them I’ve seen have First Class facing north which is the wrong way around (unless on the odd occasion they come off the depot the wrong way). DTG Matt
If you're turning AWS on via manual operation of switches, note that there are *TWO* switches that need operating on the Pendo. There's a master fuse switch at the top, do that first. Then do the usual key-in. CTRL-ENTER will do both simultaneously. Matt.
Now i know why i dont have aws ethier Also the class 377/2 services are missing and all of the class 390 service crash please fix this on ps4
I tried that and the crash happened again, and I’ve since discovered that 377 services to Watford crash the game about 900yds before the buffers.
Only 350 and 390 services are on PS4/Xbox 1 i'm afraid. Not sure why 390 services are crashing though. Matt.
The two locos are really good. Especially the 390. The scenery is fine. And I like the new features. But by far my two biggest issues are the timetable and the destination boards. DTG have already addressed the timetable issues. But I’m really disappointed in the destination boards and PIS. Really? In a 2024 release we have incorrect and incomplete destination boards? Come on. That’s unacceptable. This is just text input. The 390 services don’t terminate at Milton Keynes they terminate off map. Also Milton Keynes isn’t Milton Kns. London Euston isn’t Euston. And Birmingham New Street isn’t Birmingham. Can we please get that sorted quickly as it’s really not a major undertaking and really breaks the immersion. It makes the route seem so much smaller.
I agree with the missing off route stations - but - it's not a quick job, having done this myself for one or two routes, there's a hell of a lot of work involved in setting this up. Not saying it shouldn't have been done or that it won't, just want to correct that misunderstanding. Matt.
Yeah, I’ve discovered that unless the service finishes at Milton Keynes, the game crashes on Series S on approach to Watford or Euston to terminate.
I noticed this too. It needs the classic Johnstone’s typeface! You can’t exit the platforms on foot either. Compared to Goblin it looks like the Lioness line was a bit of an afterthought unfortunately.
No audio for any safety system on the 350. Makes the train unusable if you want to play with safety systems
These bins must be the chosen ones! These bins are at the end of Platform 1 at Euston, behind some fencing. Quite bright I must say. This is on Xbox Series S.
I will mention i hope that Ivinghoe Beacon is visible between Tring and Cheddington, it is one of the landmarks on the route and it would feel odd to drive the train without being able to see it, quite a prominent hill rising about 600ft above the surrounding land.
Also spotted a minor graphic issue on the Class 390! In photo mode as you can fly through things now, I stumbled upon this floating sign underneath the drivers coach. Not visible from the exterior but might be worth getting rid off. (Also unsure whether they are under every carriage) Series S!
Id just like to express my appreciation for your engagement here Matt. Whilst I may not always like the answers, I'll always roll with brutal honesty if I can understand it (and probably will just ask question after question until I do if I cant). Not every studio would have the resilience to front up in an active way, even when things are going well, as there'll always be flak flying at some point. I also appreciate how you fly high cover for your team- that hasnt gone unnoticed. Im also appreciative of the fact that no DTG means no TSW which in turn means no good UK based train simulation. I hope that you understand I (and pretty obviously a lot of others) seek to propel the title to greater heights. We do so robustly as its often the loudest hinge that gets the oil if theres a drop or two handy. I'll continue being a foghorn for issues which I think let the sim down, I hope others do too, and I hope you and your team rely on some kind of accurate data collation of issues to try to move the quality level upwards- in as far as possible focusing on the delivery of quality while finding a balance with the required sales streams and removing (or at least quantifying) sales numbers as a barometer of success in meeting quality standards.
The flickering looked a lot better in that video. I put a comment in asking what AA settings they were using. If its FAA then thats a massive improvement..
So first impression of the WCML on PS5 in the 390 Framerate was really poor Traffic seemed thin on the ground Poor lighting Poor aliasing (probably caused by the poor lighting) And tried fast travel at the end to the previous station and the game crashed So question. Is it to early to ask DTG's Liam for a remaster?
The timetable does need a bit of work. All the hallmarks of a Rivet timetable with missing services and the need to lock the doors at the terminus station to be able to complete the service. As anyone who travels will know, it’s completely unrealistic to lock the doors after 30 seconds when terminating. Overall, the service variety and scenery are good. Seems a bit odd not to be able to go onto the concourse at Euston, though. And there doesn’t seem to be any bank of departures boards.
The lack of collision I believe is intended (particularly to allow things like tunnel shots), but I will check.
