The entire UK route is dark with no exterior lights along the way.
Please add more street lighting as it is almost impossible to drive at night as the train lights in night mode barely illuminate the tracks.

According to the overlords at DTG that IS how it should be….I told Matt P that the drone footage they used for comparison is wrong because the human eye and the camera lens perceive darkness differently but my comment fell in deaf ears unfortunately!

Because the actual real life train driver who took the footage, said that it reasonably accurately represents what he sees as a driver.

I took that as being more authoritative than your comment on a twitch stream, apologies if that offends.

    Matt.

Not offended at all Matt. I appreciate what the actual driver says but that still does not detract from the fact that what the human eye sees & what a CCD see are different! :)

Ok, I haven't communet, irl, UK routes in the dark, only Slovak, Austrian and Italian, but boy... do is ever does pitch dark quickly.
We, living in urban areas, have become so accustomed to light smog, that we kinda forgot how dark night really is.

That said, reflective signs have been used for, like, etherninty, and it is sad that only so few routes have them in TSW.

Whether realistic or not but it still seems to me we are lacking serious light/ambient pollution in large city areas.

Fact is, seems TSW is too bright in the day but not bright enough at night. Certainly compare to driving around large cities in ATS, ETS2 or even TSC. I did a twilight run on Surselva the other evening and running into Disentis the night lighting was awesome.

Otherwise staring at a black screen is not much better than playing Paul Lee's Simudrive all those years ago and probably not that good for the eyesight either.

Perhaps something else that needs to be user configurable along with some built in brightness, contrast and gamma controls.

    I agree 100% with Oldvern.

Can be dark in real life, and i understand that, but in the game its almost impossible to drive at night. Really don´t make any sense
In TSW4 has the same problem and no one care about it, was it even necessary for someone to create a mod to give more light at night

I can see from the conversations that the team will continue to make the same mistake in TSW5

I agree with your other points, but ultimately if you push everything else aside, this is the solution.

It really irks me when devs block you from settings. Everyone’s screen & environment will be different, let alone preferences in game. This is one of those things you can’t really put a blanket rule in place for.

It is naturally dark at night. I have sat in the cab of a train in the evening and you generally can't see much.

The first screenshot is 2.2KM out of Frankfurt, that is not the WCLM.

However the 350 on Xbox app/pc doesn't have any passenger lighting in the night and couldn't play conductor mode either because the train was complete darkness

You can turn on coach lighting using the display panel in the cab.

Oh okay thank you for the heads up but I'll double check later and see if this was happening on other trains too
