    Let the bells ring out and the banners fly!

    Seriously though, that's going to make testing our plugins a lot easier; as lucky as we were to have the mod, not everyone found the prospect of setting it up undaunting. (I was a bit daunted.)

    Also, I hate to contradict my vote on making our plugins backwards-compatable to TSW4, but...

    Busy downloading the core game at the moment but can't see how to get the updated TSW5 Editor. It isn't showing on the Epic Launcher.

    Got it installed you need to download the new editor from the epic store. But I don't see the cook option.

    I'm by no means an expert with UE4 but I don't think 4.26 has a big Cook Button on the main toolbar like the unofficial mod.
    Apologies if that's incorrect, I'll have a good look later.

    I've tried the command and it throws an error as stated here by the provided screenshot. any advice from anyone more savvy than i on how to get around this is much appreciated as I've been trying for days at this point and no success as of yet and it's driving me insane.

    PS, i have tried many tutorials and none of them have worked getting my files to be seen in-game.

    Either there is a typo on chapter 15 of the editor tutorial or something is up.

    Oh you mean it has to be called cook.bat? Not sure what's going on tbh.

    Not necessarily it just mentions it in the tutorial however, i have named it as cook.bat but regardless of filename still cant get passed the error shown in my previous msg with uploaded screenshot.

    I get stuck on the running Automation tool.
    Somethings not right with the cooking, followed it as it says but it fails with a cooking error.

    I'm currently re-installing TSW5 and TSW5 editor and trying that and see if the same happens.

    They just updated it to mention TSW5

    The name of the batch file doesn't matter, only the contents. I don't have a current script to do this sorry.

    Do you mean go straight to creating pak file? without touching the cooking part? Please do excuss me as im new to the world of pc editor TSW5

    Nah they likely aren't using the editor for cooking yet since they haven't made anything

    The problem is that the editor does not cook or pack the files.

    No, it does not work because the editor cannot read or convert any files from add-ons.

    I mean there must be a way to see own created content such as scenarios, formations, etc in-game. Community mods over on TrainSimCommunity and other alike websites has been successful in creating own content and seeing it in-game. Are they using something that we don't has access to?

    So when people create own custom scenarios are they add-ons or replacements?

    For texture mods, I've been using the original UE4.26 editor to cook the textures. Then set up the folder plugin structure according to the original, and pack it with UnrealPak.exe.

    I've never used the TSW editor for all my mods.

    Would u say that, the same could be said for creating custom formations or scenarios?

    No, because UE4.26 doesn't know these TSW specific blueprints (as opposed to a simple texture). You have to cook them in the TSW editor. People used trainsimcz's cooking mod so far.

    Much appreciated. Given by the interfaces and layouts of both TSW4 editor & TSW5 editor, i cant work out how to perform the packing process. I mean DTG Alex has mentioned that the ability to cook/pack for distribution is in the TSW5 editor but cant find or work out how to use it.

    I mean for packing itself you don't need an editor. Setting up your folders and ResponseFile, UnrealPak.exe is all there is to it.

    It's been very poorly explained by DTG, they really need to get a tutorial for this out.

    When creating your own plugin, yes. For modding existing plugins (which is what I'm doing), no.

    Sure. In this case for me I'm trying to create a new custom train formation that isn't in the game by default. now, correct me if I'm wrong or anyone for that matter, I would need to create a new plugin?

    Just putting this out there to anyone, has anyone be successful with the method in this video tutorial beit train formation or scenario?

    For added context, I've used this guide (https://tsweditor.github.io/docs/createPlugin) to create a custom formation and then moved on to cooking and paking but unable to see own content in game.


    I've done IIITTT!!!!
    It's official I have managed to create a silly 2car 710 albeit without power to move but that is ok as its only just to test to get it to spawn in game. I't took me long enough however major breakthrough. Next stop is, creating missing formations that should already be in game. Wish me luck guys as it gonna be cool. I've provided a screenshot as proof that it has worked. :)
