We've been West, we've been South, we've even been up the North. But never East..... well, East Coastway and ECML Peterborough i guess, but i mean PROPER East; Essex! East! Well i do think it's about high time that changed, so here we are. Train Sim World 5: GEML (Great Eastern Main Line): London Liverpool Street To Norwich or alternatively, To Southend Victoria and Clacton-On-Sea - with the new sleek BR Class 720 (Southend Vic/Clacton) OR BR Class 745 (Norwich) Alternatively could also as DLC have BR Class 321 "Dusty Bins" for Southend/Clacton or Class 90 for Norwich Either way i do hope this gets considered as the GEML is one of the busiest train lines in England and by far Greater Anglia's pride and joy.
I like this suggestion very much, I myself would love something East Anglian in TSW5 but I don't see the likelihood of us getting the whole Great eastern mainline likely, I think it will be just like train sim classic (London - Ipswich) and with one train (360 or 321 most likely.) It doesn't seem dovetail like doing routes in east anglia hence why the only one they made being over ten years ago..
To be technical, TSW already enters Essex. One of the HS1 tunnels on SEHS enters Essex for a brief moment before entering Kent.
Wherry Lines out of Norwich is oft requested and would make a good addition. BR Classic preferred for the loco hauled Saturday services and a Cravens DMU, but any other era also welcome.
The Wherry Lines will be a great edition to TSW, being listed as one of the most scenic rail routes in the country. Our only hope is as long as Rivet doesn't touch the route.
If we ever got Wherry Lines, I would want it to be set either in 80s/90s or during the period of time DRS Class 37s & 68s were running services on that line.
It isn't much, I know, only for a few brief seconds in a deep tunnel I believe. Probably the closest we'd ever get though. A route based in the area is definitely needed.
