If you... let's say... if you let your mouse cursor hover over A Scenario Definition file, you will see something mentioned on the lines of cooking filepath length, unreal has a limit of 260. If you exceed this then, you may get that error?
Unsure as both TSW4 and TSW5 editors look identical, so hard to say at this point. I personally hope that you have, as I'm itching to start making custom formations.
I can't see any difference between the two editors, except unfortunately I can't use PIE in the new one as it always crashes the editor.
I hope to see something from DTG themselves point us, in the right direction for use on cooking/packing for easy distribution with TSW5 editor.
DTG Matt please could you confirm if the PC Editor improvements mentioned are live yet, or are they coming later? It appears cooking still does not work like the TSW4 editor.
Ah thank you, can't wait for this to be working =) The file discovery fix is wonderful and the timetable simulation loading is much better now. That's great fix so far, just waiting on cooking now.
Hi Matt, sorry to bother you, (anyone else in this forum can also answer this aswell) when you say the cooking process isn't working, do you mean it's not working and is crashing upon entering the necessary commands and pressing enter? Thanks In-advace KRYST4LCLR
The crashing is normal it does it with simulating timetable, it just means its done. Nothing bad happened, its just the cooking command isn't actually doing anything.
Yes this is normal, it's supposed to do that. It's nothing to do with the cooking. Just the way the engine behaves.
You won't be able to as per Matt's message in this thread. It's not working currently and they need to fix it.
No worries. I hope to see a quick fix as they said that, it would be available in time for TSW5s release. After countless hours of trying many written tutorials and watching a few video tutorials it has come to my mind that I'm, going round and round in circles with no gain. I'm now going to uncouple myself and hope the fix is as quick as it can be and hope to re-couple if such fix arrives.
I'm pretty sure trainsimcz will come up with the fix. DTG promised the same last year, acting like they had no idea what was gone wrong, while the fix was apparently ridiculously simple. As a company, I've never seen a more unprofessional software house than DTG.
The thing is this time they stated it was working in the release notes, which it isn't. They should be getting a fix soon hopefully.
They often stated things were fixed in announcements, turned out to not be the case. Myron made two threads asking if the Training Center would have the new track shadows. Confirmed by Matt - not the case actually. Also suspension can't be really turned off as they promised. I'm not angry, I just know my old DTG well. Only seeing is believing. Make of that want you want, after all, the Editor is still branded as Beta, so we can't really demand anything.
I was a bit surprised (well, not really) to see that the Training Center doesn't have the new tracks. Which is odd, since it should be part of the core package. So.....why does Matt think something is included or working when it's obviously not (it's not only the track shadows but other stuff to)
The log states this is the error: Assertion failed: !BasedOnReleaseVersion.IsEmpty() That assertions can be found here: [File:F:/DEV/ND24-BuildPublicEditor-EpicRelease/Engine/Source/Editor/UnrealEd/Private/CookOnTheFlyServer.cpp] [Line: 6935] This seems to be the problem as it is a critical error whereas failing to load the asset registry appeared before with TSW 4 editor and trainsimcz mod without ending in a crash. Another problem is that the editor cannot delete the old cooked directory. But that can be solved by deleting it before cooking.
