So, pretty much the final piece of the Metrolink puzzle, is the EMD F59PHR.

1st built as the F59PH for Metrolink between '92 and '93, Metrolink acquired a total of 23 units, numbered 851-873. These were pretty much the original units of Metrolink when they 1st started in 1992.

Recently, Metrolink rebuilt 7 of them into F59PHR's with the rest being retired by 2020, with some sold to other operators. Currently only 5 are rostered, 852, 856, 861, 868, & 873.

While no longer the main power for most trains, they can sometimes still be seen pulling revenue trains from time to time. Outside of that, their main role is for testing, switching and MOW work.

One bonus this DLC could add, is Metrolinks MOW caboose.

Think like how the MP15DC was used for Caltrain, DTG could make this loco DLC as one that involves some yard switching and MOW trains along both San Bernardino and Antelope Valley, with a small chance to spawn into regular timetable services as AI (Or if the player picks it by default)

While I'm not sure if DTG ever got a chance to get reference photos and audio from it, having the F59PHR would officially round out Metrolinks modern locomotive roster (As the F59PHIs and lone F40 are no longer in use)

    +1
This would be a nice change to have just a little more and the caboose would be a really nice addition and ad to what US content is already in-game.

The F59PHRs are a good addition to the Metrolink roster, but those continuous welded rail cars would be amazing to see in game. Plus, they could be used on any of the US routes already in game. We need MOW equipment in the game.

I think the F59PH would be a great addition to the game. It would be interesting and fun to run mow services with this unit as well as revenue.

Only info I could find is from the TSC version, which lists only 82mph or about 132km/h

Just wanted to add that the Metrolink F59PH’s are all currently in regular revenue service. They aren’t “mainly used for testing, switching, and MOW” now. It’s not uncommon to see at least one, or more than one, on regular revenue service everyday.

One of them may be sidelined as the yard switcher but all the units very much so see regular service on a daily basis.

Guess something must of changed recently, or Metrolink is just down on usable power.

Someone somehow caught all 5 current active ones on one day in November

There’s at least 4 MP36s out of service right now, one of them permanently. Its traction motors were used to make one of the F59s useable again. Then when you factor in normal fleet maintenance, there’s always a shortage and that’s why the F59s see regular service now.

Although it’s just temporary this month, you also have two F125s assigned to work the holiday train that runs most of this month. Metrolink needs every available, working locomotive they can right now.

So, any news on this one?
I wonder if the wagons we already have in game could be added with the old blue-white livery could be added with this one? That way Metrolink would be 99.9% complete!!

I haven’t heard they are supposed to come out; the loco is in the 0-3 months though. That means it should come out in February or March. Regarding the Santa Fe pack we don’t have any information though; could be in one month, could be in 6- no one knows

if it is a substitution I hope it is nimble enough to keep to the timetable... looking forward to it :) ... does it come live the same time as usual? I hope so, once I get back from work it is a buy for me

Judging by the number of F125s in the depot I am suspecting that ‘substitution’ may be stretching it and we may get another ‘pacer on WCL’ or ‘vectron on semmering’ where it’s choose-able but not spawning in. Also needs to have F36 working on both routes and mixed consistent on both routes for all 3 locos.

I hate to say it but, given recent events, I suspect. We’ll get none of the above on release and a ‘it will be looked at’
