It’s been 6 years since the release of TSW. As the game has evolved throughout the years one thing is still not present (Ai announcements). If you’re reading this and you’re a TSC player than you’re know how much Ai announcements bring to the game, with added immersion and a better sense of realism. I understand adding official announcements can be a problem due to licensing or the company in question not allowing them, but a set of voice recordings by the DTG team or even a hired voice actor, like how they do with training modules. We’ve already seen positive results with announcements on both Fife circle and Blackpool branches, so why can’t other routes get the same treatment? I feel it’s time DTG start working on bringing some form of announcements to the game going forward, whether that’s recorded or Ai announcements. At this point I’d rather hear something than nothing at all.

I am an avid TSC user and the greater majority of the routes do not have any in train station announcements. In fact the best route for in train announcements is the TSW4 Berninilinie line. They are well done and in multiple languages as per real life ( route is by Rivet by the way). While I agree announcements are nice and do add to the simulation, I feel there are more important areas where DTG can be focusing that even the OP has mentioned in these forums. Instead of adding another across the board new feature, focused on refining the features all ready in the game lime non floating cars (minor in my mind) passenger intelligence, night lighting on some routes, road crossing working correctly and all the other standard stuff that many are very vocal about in this forum.
I believe many of the on train and platform announcements are actually copyrighted.Since professional voice actors were hired. So 'ultimate realism' might be unattainable. I doubt however almostvidentical announcements by a different or even AI voice will fall under copyright. Chimes and catchy company identifiers might also be copyrighted? And obviously the announcements have to be correct, taking into account delays and platform changes.
Then there’s no reason why announcements couldn’t be done in-house by DTG, if copyright would be a factor. I know “ultimate realism” will never be thing in this game and that’s across all features, but I’d still like to hear something on-board my train. It’s funny, just installing the azure announcements on RW Enhancer pro recently for TSC, I can’t tell you how much this has improved my overall experience. The announcements whatever shape or form they come in, should be a new core feature going forward. TSW6 new feature?
