On earlier versions of TSW, there used to be a facility to give up control of a train i.e. if you got out of the cab and sat in a passenger seat, a prompt would come up after a couple of minutes asking if you wanted to give up control. Has this disappeared from TSW5? I have driven from Euston to Watford Junction on a 710 and returned to free roam. I got out and went back to sit in a passenger seat. 10 minutes after the return service was due to leave and it just sat there. I tried a different route and service, spawning into a timetable service at LA Union on San Bernadino, exited the cab and sat down on a passenger seat. Same result.
Most of the time this is working for me, I've only had it fail on Fulda. As a work around you can spawn on foot at the station and get onto the AI driven train to ride as a passenger.
Not come across this yet, if you are at a route hopping station hop to a different route then back again and should be good
You can just delete it. On the selection to pick up a train in free roam. I think that the reason why the give up control not present anymore
It is present. I have had it pop up several times since the upgrade to TSW5. On stations where I have a minute or two of dwell tine I get out to admire the station and have it give up control pop up. Has happened on all the new TSW5 routes as I recall
On PC Matt mentioned in the WCML stream you can press Shift F to bring up the fast travel menu choose anywhere then I think straight away there is a pop up asking if you want to give up control . Then you can cancel the fast travel . It’s a good way to quickly give up control .
Don't sit down in a seat, for some reason that eliminates the "countdown". If you want passenger mode, find a nice empty window seat, stand over it and in couple min the prompt should pop up P.S. This works in timetable mode/on foot, not freeroam afaik
[SystemSettings] ts2.dbg.RelinquishPromptWaitTime=12000 This will give you 20 minutes before is ask you to give up control
