Just want some general help and advise!
I’m quite a newbie to TSW but have quite a few of the addons. I play on Xbox Series X and was wanting to know why that on some routes it will say you are taking the train from say Leeds to London Kings Cross but then you actually take the train from Doncaster to Peterborough. This is just an example on the ECML. Do I have to purchase additional routes (I have the Southeastern High Speed add on) to be able to do a journey like this?
I don’t use the train at all so I’m not that familiar with all the routes but I’m loving TSW and when I see a particular route that I’d like to do then find out it’s not the actual one I’ll be doing, it’s a bit confusing.
Here is a list of the add ons I have:

    Southeastern High Speed
    Glossip Line
    Cathcart Circle
    West Somerset
    ECML Peterborough - Doncaster
    Bakerloo Line
    London Overground
WCML - London Euston - Milton Keynes
    Spirit of Steam
    Canon Pass
    Antelope Valley
    LIRR New York - Longbeach
    San Bernardino Line
    Frankfurt - Fulda
    Nahverkehr Dresden
    S-Bahn - Vorarlberg
    Kassel - Würzburg

Would I have to purchase different UK addons to be able to do a York to Kings Cross or is this something that’s not available to do yet?

    TIA

Because only the section between Donnie and Boro' is modelled, they'd have to model the entire route for you to do what you want to do.

But why say it in the game if it’s not possible to do?
I could understand if you could buy additional DLC and then do it but if you can’t do it full stop why put it in the game?

Leeds to Kings X would be the service on the timetable.

It's because it's replicating a section of a real world route, using a real world timetable, and in reality, that service runs between London and Leeds, and in game would arrive at Peterborough "from London", and depart Doncaster "for Leeds" when it actually just comes in and off the game map.

If you read the service description it says the points you drive between.

Because in real life, like in the game, the train goes from X to Y, even if a certain driver only works from A to B.

They do this because it may help people to know the stopping pattern. There should be a small box to the right of the services list that states the start and end points.

Do you not read the descriptions which quite clearly tell you where you're driving to/from?

The ecml in its entirety runs kings x to Edinburgh I believe but the in game route only covers the section between donny and Peter so that's all you can drive

If you want the route in its entirety, you may be better off looking at Train Sim Classic. I own the whole ECML on that
