Hey everyone, There are a couple things that have led me to believe that we're getting something French. The first thing, which seemed rather odd, was that the nearly 4-year-old TGV DLC is getting the improved track shadow rendering. Feels rather strange to just pull that one out of the blue. The other thing that caught my eye was this, from the Wikipedia page for Mannheim Hbf: So it's clear that the TGV has some role on the upcoming Mannheim to Kaiserslautern. My prediction is that we're gonna get a new TGV train to accompany the route, plus a remaster of LGV. What are your thoughts?
We need the RGV 2N 4700 series with a different cab, coaches’ interiors, PZB/LZB etc… so we could use it on other German routes as well. I’m quite pessimistic but I don’t really think we’ll have a TGV for that upcoming German route. I’m not against a remaster of the LGV if they add the other section to Lyon Part-Dieu, and of course a better and realistic scenery as on many places it doesn’t looks like the South all. Let’s not talk about the 1.5kV DC catenary on the classic line which is… a joke. I think the biggest problem is the fact that the SNCF is quite reluctant to give a licence now.
I'd love some french commuter content starting off from the same terminus as the current TGV route. They could layer into each other nicely.
I'd be happy with part of the old main line between Paris and Toulouse. Perhaps the southern half starting at Limoges. My favourite part of the world and some wonderful scenery.
As the great Jean Gabin used to say “Un train peut en cacher un autre”. Maybe if DTG were to venture into French territory again they could do a smaller regional route with some branch lines, maybe TER could be an option if they acquire the license.
I 100% agree with this, it feels so sad that the Duplex basically gets to enjoy 2 routes and that's about it.
Is this not referring to the TGV AI services which were left off the Frankfurt-Fulda route as not yet ready?
If you mean the two routes, those are LGV Méditeranée (the base route), and SEHS (1 round-trip to Ebbsfleet and 1 round-trip to Ashford).
A remaster would be amazing. We definitely need some more France. It seems odd we only have 1 route. France has some of the most beautiful scenery and trains. I agree about the current route needing an extension as it is quite a short run….
