Blackpool is Arguably the best uk route money can buy, it’s one of those very few routes, that’s actually worth £29.99 and not some absolute nonsense like Edinburgh Glasgow or Fife.

Definitely. The amount of stock that's included makes it a very compelling offer, and it doesn't feel like it's relying on layers like a number of other UK routes. The scenery is lovely and the scenarios seem decent as well. They even managed to make Mastery worth using, which is probably the most impressive thing of all.

I do find it relies a lot on layers if you want any freight on it (and even that is limited) but the Pacer is original and quite nice. Scenery is good. I dunno about the "best" route, but it's decent so far.

I presume the sale is gone already...? Sadly I did not get any notification from Steam...

The JT sale ended nearly two weeks ago. Next confirmed Steam sale not until November with their autumn event though it is possible DTG may have their own in the meantime. TSC at present seems to be getting a different sale each week!

Nice, that's even 16% cheaper than it recently was on Steam with the same -51% discount.

Blackpool Route is a kind of master piece but is too short.

Actually I perceive Blackpool Route as a beautiful demo rather than a complete version.

Not speaking for Denis, but in my mind it should have gone on to Manchester Victoria. However I also accept JT were cut ting their teeth on this while probably doing the groundwork on their “symphony” of WCML Over Shap. The drawback is that other than specials the loco hauled services only run across half the route.

It's about 50 miles.... that's about average for a TSW route.
    *shrugs*
It's pretty much standard now that people complain everything is "too short" and "needs to add this and this and this and this."
I think you want TSC... it's on the next shelf over =-)
Going to Manchester and Crewe would triple the route and put it beyond any other route.
If you want to go to Crewe there's this OTHER route that goes to there AND Liverpool you can buy....

You do know that it is a full route, right?

Also, why is the text in your post so big?

Imagine if we treated every "masterpiece" like that.
"The Mona Lisa is great but... there needs to be like 3 of them to make a complete set otherwise it's just a cheap demo of what Da Vinci could REALLY do!"

Keep in mind that the Pacer from the Blackpool Route will also layer into JustTrains upcoming route. (WCLM Preston - Carlisle)

And it layers on several other routes already in the game.
    The Pacer is great =-)

No it doesn't, only route the Pacer supports right now is the route it's built for, you're confusing the PC mods for official support if you're thinking otherwise.

You can use it on TVL and WCL.

For Tees at least no it's not, wasn't available in timetable when I bought Blackpool for TSW4, nor when I installed TSW5, and it doesn't appear now. There's a mod which allows the Pacer to work on the existing timetable for Tees, and there's a new timetable made that uses the Pacer, but that too is a mod.

You can't use it on TVL by default. Cornwall, yes, but it onlu substitutes with the 150.

Yeah I've played it on WCL. It's not a mod. It's a straight substitution layer.
The TVL thing is the opposite layer.
Instead of bringing the pacer into TVL, what it does is replace the Pacer on Blackpool with the 101 FROM TVL.
I don't know enough about the pacer irl to say where else it "should" go.
I think it COULD go on the GWE since it uses it to get to the WCL route from London (or did) but it would just be a non-stop from London to Reading so kinda boring I suppose. Don't know where else it historically went in the timeframes we have in game.

It wouldn't be suitable for GWE. It isn't suitable for WCL for the era it's supposed to be set then again neither is a class 40 or 45. Really BPO and TVL are the best routes for it plus the new Shap route.

    TVL would be nice.
The 40 and 45 I think are "rail tours" so they don't really count for anything in my book since they're not "active" on the roster.

Not on WCL they were supposed to be service trains.

A quick question - I have TSW on Pc, so how would a direct download from Just Trains integrate with the game?

Do you happen to know which routes? I couldn't find any info in dovetails gameplay guides.

Thanks for the heads up! I had a drive and found there to be a guard's van on the rear (just got SoS so wasn't aware of this formation).I drove the first leg up to the loop then spawned on foot at Preston and rode it from the guard's van. Great fun with nice views from front and rear.

Does the bardic lamp on the cab desk serve any purpose or is it just a might little detail?

It's really just decorative in the case of this route, more to just add a little extra piece of history to the cab as it was and still is standard for all railway crewmen to have a bardic (Though modern ones are way more compact), hence there's one on the top of the desk and one over to the right by the guard seat. They're basically handheld signals, either to hold trains or mark the final train of the night, so in the case of TSW nothing we can actually put to use.

Is there a 155 that you can play on this route?

    Thanks,
