The Amtrak P42DC and Siemens Charger (either the ALC-42 or SC-44),would be great additions to Train Sim World 5. These could work on the MBTA Boston-Worcester route. They can also be layered onto New York Trenton, Cajon Pass etc. The Amfleet coaches are already modeled too.
I want the ALC-42 Charger and/or P42DC Genesis and Superliner Cars for the SW Chief on Cajon and the Capitol Limited on Sand Patch Grade. The Charger or P42 could also be layered onto Horseshoe Curve. I would love to see a Pacific Northwest route (Stevens Pass, Marias Pass, BNSF Fallbridge Sub, UP Portland Sub, and/or Amtrak Cascades). These routes would be perfect for the Empire Builder with either a P42DC or ALC-42 Charger.
Does DTG have a Siemens license, since many of their locomotives are 'neutered', i.e. without the brand name and logo?
Yes! That's the point. There are so many existing or potential routes these could be used on. Would be a great addition and would sell well. A must buy for the American TSW community.
Matt mentioned earlier that DTG won't made those locos, cause there is no routes for the big amount of services. Creating a DLC which provides only 2 services for couple routes its not what they wanna brings to us. So we need to wait for some route, which can be the home(cough Chicago cough) with a plenty of services for those locos.
And thats not gonna happen cause of Metra. So RIP DTG could drop the licensing stuff, but then probably still wont do Chicago due to no access to their equipment.
At this rate, we are going to get a, really well-done and promising WIP, community mod of the P42 before DTG get around to it (if they ever). It's unfortunate I downloaded TSW on my laptop via the Microsoft/Xbox store as opposed to Steam since if/when that particularly P42 mode releases, I won't be able to access it. The only way I can see the P42 coming in is if DTG create the Pacific Surfliner, Capital Corridor, or Amtrak Cascades, at this rate. Though if even if they do, likely we would get the SC-44, F40PH, or F59PHI's in their respective livery cohesive paint schemes to go nicely with the passenger cars of that route; rather than the generic Amtrak P42s that often get tacked on as motive power in those state-sponsored commuter operations. A gameplay pack featuring the P42s, and generic Amtrak superliner cars could then be created separately, which would then give us mixed trains for realism (ex: 4 Amtrak California Capitol Corridor cars + 1 Amtrak Superliner(
