The timetables for the Bakerloo Line, and for the Lioness overground line, are not at all complete! Less than one service in 2 for the Lioness, and the same for the Bakerloo services on the WCMLS. Is an update planned? Are we going to have half-empty schedules forever?
They have said there are no plans to touch the timetable. The main person who could do that is Joe but he is busy with a million other projects
Thank you for your response, but I find it so frustrating, to have had a complete suffragette, and now, to have zero trains for 1h30 sometimes, like that. I hope in this case if they are not modifying the thing, that someone from the community will take care of this in the future... and the same for the bakerloo !
If I was DTG's management, I would hang my head in shame at the half hearted attempts, that it's staff give us these unfinished DLC's 90% of the time. If I did the same style of working that the teams developing the DLC's do, then I would be at the job centre Very shoddy work indeed.
This is what happens when you pressure the development team too much to meet deadlines to the point you have to leave a half-baked route. Oh no this is only half of the truth, someone thought it was a brilliant idea to source the development to RIIIIIVVVVEEEETTT GAAAMMMEESSSS!!!!
In any other industry, the person in charge would be asked to leave their position for something shipped with this quality and the end product slowly getting worse with each release. But then DTG are operating in a parallel universe to the rest of us.....
Liam has confirmed that DTG are working on fixes for the timetable, however he has said that no new services are planned. For PC players; you can get the WCML enhancement pack and timetable once it comes out.
Like I said, it's an interesting concept on how they are going to fix the timetable, as most of the feedback has been that the timetable is empty.
Again stuff being posted on the Discord server that should be posted on the forums as well. Clearly the Community Director doesn't value the forums... I would point out that this was posted on the forums, and then deleted by moderators as being "confidential" information.... Double standards again....
Fix, as in broken services that block up with red lights. For all we know the service level could be what was designed in the first place. How do you propose to fix something that fits its design specs?
Honestly not seen this bug on the WCMLS route, not saying it's not there, but with an empty time table, it's incredible to think that services get stuck at reds with no where to go. You've got 16 platforms at Euston, so it shouldn't really be happening.
Pretty pointless committing to fixing a route with many blunders, but to avoid the time table altogether which is one of the biggest faults in WCMLS... I honestly think that is one idiotic decision. What do I personally think has happened? Rivet probably took on the project at DTGs request and bit off more then they could chew. And now when updates need doing the predictable shoddyness and reputation catches up with them... probably "we are to much of a small studio and don't have the man power or hours to commit to it" and that's why we get these half a***d fixes. Quite honestly, and this might come across nasty, but I really hope this was the nail in the coffin for Rivet as a company. If DTG has any sense they'd bring this in house, take on Rivets 3D artists who make good models and leave Rivet as a development company in the back of the cupboard... and fix the timetable themselves. There are individuals at DTG that make some incredible stuff. Incredible routes. But WCMLS seems to be one of the worst (if not the worst) flagship route that they have ever put out. Although I will say as I've said before that the Class 390 is really nicely made and I really like it? and it is probably the only saving grace of this whole fiasco. But again I feel the 390 was a DTG product, but the rest... fill in the blanks.
I think they think the forum is a bunch of ever complaining weirdos and cringey fanbois... let's leave them on their own Face reality. Forums and Discussion Boards are a relic of the past. It needs moderation, sorting and moving threads, closing them, all paid work. Discord is easier to handle, it's just flowing (and it's not needing DTG moderation as it's not their own.) If you look at rail-sim.de for example, this is what a moderated forum looks like. You have exactly one feedback thread per DLC, not like in here where information is lost in multiple same topic threads. A new thread must be approved by a moderator. A preview and announcement speculation thread gets closed and redirected to a following release thread. On the other hand, these forums are more lively and chaotic, often entertaining, on rail-sim there's hardly any activity any more except for screenshot threads, trouble with obscure 3rd parties I have never heard of before, and an occasional support request.
I'm on another railway forum and have been on there since 2009. The problem was, it started off being able to be human on there and having a good discussion, but it got to the point where it become so overly moderated and it killed the 'buzz' of it, and even a single comment outside of the topic was deleted and infraction points issued. I will say about this forum I've enjoyed the room for debate, criticism, and it not being ridiculously policed. DTG have got the balance right here. There are some minor tweaks on here such as not allowing several threads all about the same thing that information or feedback can be lost in... I agree there.
Yeah, by the time you posted this I've added the pros of this unmoderated forum style to my post . But finding information in here "has this been reported already?" is almost impossible. I often happen to remember sut Meaningless thread titles ("A Question") and no tagging. And if you read the whole forum from day one (I have), you see it's all repeating itself over and over again, the ever same story. That's why I often advocate to not expect a change, only your own expectations is what you can manage. There's a deep truth to "Don't like it don't buy it".
But isn't the Discord server an "unofficial" one. That isn't hosted by DTG but the few selected community members?
Yes, it's hosted by AlexNL, owner of TrainSimCommunity. As it's the largest community, DTG members are in there too (zero costs for moderation and maintenance for DTG) I'm sure last year Alex mentioned in a Livestream that the forums play the smallest role in customer - dev communication now. (Just go over to Train Simulator forums, irrelevant threads still pinned like RailDriver.dll or JD's Introduction thread from Feb 2021. Not talking about the abandoned Steam forums (Birmingham Cross City pinned for whatever reason....) DTG forums looking like Detroit....
Morning all I wound up on the forum because steam with a few exceptions is pointless to get serious answers. Alex appears on steam to address issues on one of the locomotive's brake problems; nothing here. Why? there and not here? I asked on September 27th for a separate thread for the 350, afterall it's the new emu for WCML route, the 390 was the optional purchase. I honestly feel like we've all been put on the naughty step and purposely been left to own devices. Official forum ; I've watched people on here get more and more worked up over issues they're having. Instead of calming the waters it was just left to turn into civil war. I'm not interested in putting anymore down, life is too short for that. Don't know who is officially in charge of the forum.I'm asking you to please make sure we're not kept in the dark. You're customers are here on the official forum.
Yeah it does seem weird. Every roadmap they reiterate that they listen to feedback and constantly advise that they want your suggestions put on here for duture DLC discussion. This is often followed by links being posted on the YouTube. The roadmap is then timestamped and links put on YouTube to get people here. Yet, when things are not quite as rosey as they should be its tumbleweeds. Have no issue with Discord being used, though I'm more of a forum generation person, just think whatever is being shared should be put in both places. Doesn't seem right getting additional community staff input on ongoing queries linked from third party sites.
Looking at things in the early evening on wcml I see that a train leaves euston. Its pathed onto a line where a train is heading into euston! Both trains meet head to head for a Mexican stand off! And that's that. No more trains enter or leave euston and eventually trains start stacking up all the way to Milton Keynes. The train leaving euston was a 710, so I can assume why the dc timetable is non existent. If I spawn a train in free roam near euston and set a path to mk, 9 times out of 10 the dispatcher paths me onto a line that isn't bi directional in the wrong direction! This results in a head on collision with a train stopped at a signal further down the line. Of course I don't get stopped at a signal because there are no signals for my direction. The timetable and pathing on this route is completely screwed up! So I wouldn't expect dtg would complicate it even more by adding the missing services between watford jct.
All the routes into Euston from Camden Junction to the blocks of all platforms are bi directional in real life, you often come head to head with other trains, separated by nothing more than a set of points taking you across each others noses. It's bloody brilliant in real life!
I bet that looks cool from the cab. I would definitely be concerned about the points being set in the right direction each and every time I approach.
Yeah no timetable update for many many months if at all. At the moment my four least played UK routes are Cross City WCML Glossop Spirit of steam Mostly because of how empty they all are because of a lack of decent timetables.
Thing is the cross-city is my local route - I do like it however not having a 170 for the Hereford/Cardiff Routes stopping at university but Birmingham New Street is very empty. I think if bcc has a new add on with the 730 and more ai traffic in new st I'd probably play it a lot more. West Cornwall and midland main line was fun but it's super short and Glossop is okay just feels very empty
Judging from the amount of traffic on the wcml whilst rocking the Bakerloo or the Lovelace line (I know it's called something else my arse)So many women more deserving. There's no reason for it not to have been much busier than it is. Rushed out the door,or third party failed to meet a deadline . Doesn't matter anymore,it needs addressing . Timetable. Wcml 5-8 am or 5-7 pm isn't a disaster; under/ over and the freight is poor. No more huffing and puffing about it. It needs putting right, those on console should at least have the option. I know on PC it's a fix with the binary railways boys and girls. It's not possible for consoles to have access, the fair thing to do is a timetable all can use. And that ladies and gentlemen and others is in Dovetails hands.
True fact related to the TSW5 release in the first place. Clearly unfinished and rushed. On top outsourced to 2nd party with "a questionable" reputation. TSW5 in 2025, but polished dlcs would have been the content i like to pay. Since the first preview there was a salty taste with annoyance around. The hype followed by delivering a solid product is a boost. The wcml south thread had so many pages of disappointed players by the time TSW5 wasnt even released.
Well done to all that voiced issues and concerns. You weren't acknowledged at the time, but you were indeed heard. Things already look that little bit brighter.
