Hey everyone, I've been searching around but can't seem to find a clear answer on this. Does Track IR work with Train Sim World 5 (TSW5)? I’ve checked some forums and official channels but haven’t found any mention of compatibility with this version. It would be a game-changer for immersion, so I’m really hoping it’s supported! If anyone has tried it out or knows for sure, I’d appreciate any info you can share. Thanks in advance! Cheers!
TrackIR works out of the box, just as before. It also works without any issues on my side, not sure what you mean with "poorly", Omnicitywife ? If TSW doesn't connect, make sure to update the TrackIR software games list (upper right corner).
This shiz happens only when facing West on Foot, it's incredibly annoying as you don't realize how often you face West until you see this consistently throughout your Gaming time. Been like this in TSW2, TSW3, TSW4 and now TSW5.... Is it EVER going to be fixed? Would be great hey... Apart from this massive issue, it works well sitting down.
I think the issue is on your side, this behaviour never happens on my setup. This looks like your trackIR camera momentarily loses 'view' of the markers on your head. If TSW is the only game this happens with, I have no idea why this happens on your side. I've used TrackIR successfully since it became supported by TSW (3? 2?) on my Win10 system.
It's impossible for it to lose view on the clip because I'm looking straight at the Monitor. The issue doesn't happen when I turn my head to look West, it happens when I'm facing directly West on Foot, and Walk forward. That's when the spinning happens. There has been many posts and a couple Topics [that I've seen in my times] about this exact issue. I've been using TrackIR for 20 years consistently as the Games I have played throughout that time have heavily relied on the Hardware, and I have not once had a single issue at all except in TSW2,3,4,5 [also on 3 different Rigs].
I'll do a test, but I walk around in TSW quite often and have maybe encountered it less than 10 times. I'll keep you posted.
Hey have you done anymore testing? And if it has happened to you previously, then in no way is it a problem on my end as you tried to suggest.
Looking for a bit of info on this Track IR thingy, I have a VR headset but sometimes I just feel like playing on screen instead but am interested in Track IR. I have seen this on amazon for £110 "Head Sight Tracking for TrackNP 5 6DOF Head Tracking System Gaming Professional Head Posture Optical Infrared Track System,Game Controller as VR" Now it gives an option to buy something extra for £53 that is wireless "ANRAIE Wireless LED TrackClip - Track Clip Pro Reflector Match with Tracking sight TrackNP 5 6DOF Tracking Head Tracker SystemANRAIE Wireless LED TrackClip - Track Clip Pro Reflector Match with Tracking sight TrackNP 5 6DOF Tracking Head Tracker System" Is this something I have to buy too if I want Track IR wireless or is this something completely different and the £110 one is also wireless? Confused.com as to what to buy! Basically I just want a wireless Track IR system Any advice welcome.
As a TrackIR User, I have to say I have never used or even heard of TrackNP until now. My advice is to NOT buy a ripoff brand that is slightly lower in Price, who knows how well it would work, or how long it would last. However, if you are actually interested in immersion then I would purchase the correct brand of TrackIR by NaturalPoint. I'm a little confused on your meaning of Wireless, but I just assume Wireless from your Head and not the actual Sensor Unit that sits on your Monitor. So to answer this, TrackIR is Wireless [as was the TrackNP]. The Unit itself has a Core which mounts ontop of your monitor, and you get a Wireless Clip to attach to a Hat or Headphones, so there are no cords to deal with.
