I can speak for all in requard for this incoming patch. And frankly I think everyone is instantly ready for this patch to come and now. I think few of us here have had it up to the core of our console. Majority of us want to throw the console out of the window due to the insane and yet insidious crashes that continue to win more then we can expect. Since the patch gonna be large I hope it shade some light for the crashes that continues to win in uh insanely way. But once again it coming we all want it to come now for we can have a better playing experience but yes patience is the key to putting your head in dirt to ride it out until it get here. Mannnnnn TSW5 should been a smooth play ride on the first day but I guess something had to give…………………… I’ll let you finish the rest. But yes the wait is incredible.
Nah, don't want to throw my console out of any windows, and have only had 1 crash to home screen on my Xbox series x, so sorry, you don't speak for everyone as you ain't speaking for me, I'm perfectly happy having patience and waiting for patches as got plenty of other railway stuff to enjoy til they arrive.........
I can accept your opinion and yet I wouldn’t want you to throw your console away. It just a perfect example of how it may feel for the ungoing crashes. Not literally throwing your console away dude
I'm guessing November, maybe December ..... .... and even so, the question is whether it will solve something ... I'm starting to be a little skeptical ... personally, it only crashes sporadically, but the blurring of textures is stronger
It is an incredibly long wait, but we can all take comfort in the fact that the more time DTG spend on these patches, the less chaotic they'll be when we receive them. If enough time is spent, we may not even need another patch to fix anything broken by this upcoming one!
If DTG had a dog I bet they would call it Patches. Every year there is this mad rush to get early access to a game that isn't ready to launch 6 months after it launches. Come back in April and some of the issues maybe fixed. Best course of action is to buy TSW5 when TSW6 launches.
That is 'if' their will be a large patch. Hopefully they have taken in every bit of feedback but sceptical t
Yeah I agree. It seems like every single route crashes. To the level that there’s no point in even trying to use Free Roam mode. Even on the older routes, I never get from A to B and back to A without the game crashing to the Home Screen. And even if it didn’t crash, next speed change doesn’t work on Sherman, Cajon, Cane Creek, Sand Patch, and is spotty on Horseshoe, the cab signal box doesn’t work on the CTC Cab Car, half the trains still have constant alerted noise on Trenton-NY Penn, etc. It’s been really disappointing.
And to think we had releases launching in August in the past. I wonder how much worse TSW5 would have been if it had been released in August. I still don't understand why everyone seems to have different experiences on the same hardware, though.
The next large update, 3/4 time bigger than earlier updates are coming this week! This is a small summery that will come the rest will be reveal with the release: *******Hi folks - apologies for the ping, I wanted to share a quick message as we go into the weekend on when you can expect the next patch, some top fixes we've implemented, and generally just a thank you for everyone for staying patient whilst we get these improvements added ## **We've got a big ol' list of improvements coming!** You know the rules, if I give you an exact date of when it's coming out then reality itself tears apart, but what I can say is we intend you to be playing with these improvements ideally this time next week. It has a whole lot of changes for TSW5 core content (WCML, San Bernardino, Frankfurt, FlixTrain, Pendolino) and also for Expert 101, Bremen, Niddertalbahn, Rosenheim and Birmingham Cross City. I'm still in the process of actually writing up the notes, but some bigs ones included in this patch are: **West Coast Main Line** - Euston lighting changes, added OHLE outside Milton Keynes, Bletchley station texture fix, Watford junction no longer annexed by TfL - Improvements to stop passengers clumping in stations and getting clogged on stairs / passageways - Class 350 headlights no longer stay on when de-activated in the cab - Class 350 added track joint sounds, updated gangway door audio and removed clicking sounds in fans **Frankfurt Fulda** - Fixed BR 114 brakes not working correctly **Birmingham Cross City** - Improvements to conductor mode **Performance** We're also taking more swings to improve performance, including on WCML, but also more generally on consoles to help stop memory crashes that players are having. It's not quite the full picture yet, we've got more we want to do on this, but we hope it'll start making the experience smoother, one patch at a time. There's a ton of changes, it'll be ~3-4x the size of the smaller patches we put live so far - I'm still going through the notes, but I will confirm them all once we're ready to get them live Catch you all in the October roadmap next week!******* I expect, thats not 100% confirmed they will release it before the roadmap will come so tomorrow!
Not at all. More time spent, in general, means more bugs fixed (obviously we won't ever reach 0 bugs due to diminishing returns, but we can get there). EDIT: Wait, yes, I do hope, but I believe that what I said is true. I interpreted from your post that you thought it wasn't true.
On TSW5/PS5 I get numerous crashes when accessing the live update 2d map and also when attempting fast travel. Have also had a few crashes mid game whilst just driving a train. TSW5 to me is by far the least stable version so far out of TSW2020, TSW2 and TSW4. Still, can't complain as I think TSW5 is worth the price I paid for it. (Yep, you guessed it! I got the free starter pack)
Do you think I'm making this up or something? I'm not so sick that I'm going to lie to you about this!
Sadly nothing to indicate the Save Game issues have been addressed. Just did a down 390 service from Euston to MKC. Returned to free roam and crossed to the Up Platform where I picked up a non stop 350 service to Euston. Saved the game, exited to main menu, reloaded save and yes - the clock and objective data/lollipop not loading back in.
If this is true, dear DTG, please consider posting updates like this on your official forums where everyone can see first rather than on some random server not everyone has, or can access.
Its included already but it is buggy. I think they fixed this (i hope it will works fine) for this route it will be a great addition and this route is perfect to have it well working
Ty! My message to dtg still stands though. If you have snippets of news like this regarding upcoming patches please post them on your official website and forums where the vast majority of your users will be visiting rather than some random unofficial website no-one knows anything about.
Sorry its a little childish how you do! If you know now your'e very welcome on the Discord so stop with this whole show. And yes they could be share it here on the forums but they choose to do not so get over it and next time better. Otherwise check out the nice discord server with a lot of happy people
Ah okay it's just I thought it didn't extend to tsw4 routes the guard mode. So in theory I can play on ecml. Apologies, I clearly haven't done my research on this!
Yeah they have add it in BCC! I Guess they have use it as a pilot to bring it in before TSW5 routes but thats what i guessing
Thanks for posting the screenshot. Xander - You never linked or said it was official so I just thought it was a parody post - not outright made up or anything as you didn't say it was official. Tbh though, never before seen DTG say 'you know the rules' so had you said it was official and just pasted the text (not linked, or screenshot etc.) I probably wouldn't have believed it anyway. It's certainly much less formally worded than the posts we get on the forum thread, but pleased they've shared another update nonetheless - thank you for sharing it with us.
Sorry no im not that level to take advantage for my own joy! Its not fun to make fake things like that... I hope nobody will do this kind of bizar jokes!!
Absolutely. This should be pinned at the top of the Announcements forum. Sorry for ping, but DTG Alex for many users this forum is still the primary indeed only means of getting updates on what’s happening with the game.
Agree, this is the official forum, so this is definitely the primary place for updates. Not everyone wants to join multiple forums, tracking posts across platforms, looking for scraps of information. We would rightly expect updates to appear here.
... the way it is communicated by DTG has a strange effect on customers (players) and enhances their emotions
Given past experiences, I think it is ok to be a little skeptical (especially those of us that don't have Discord). Nono, Birmingham Cross City has a very unstable version of Guard mode - the official guidance is to not play guard mode on Birmingham Cross City. Guard mode is only available on the new TSW5 routes, and the GWE remaster when it comes out. My guess is that they used Birmingham Cross City as a starting point for guard mode back in TSW3. They then furthered that testing with the Glossop Line Scenario. Then they developed it throughout TSW4 to release it now. It is not recommended to play guard mode on the Birmingham Cross City Line.
Just to respond on this, ultimately the message I added in the Discord was not an announcement, it was more of an update for that community to cover the weekend. It isn't worthy of being an official announcement, simply because the message isn't complete and we've yet to confirm the full contents of the patch completely at this point in time. We have been talking about this update in our previous few update threads, so there should be some expectation it's on the way. We have the roadmap later today which will confirm more, and we can discuss it tonight in our live stream, but currently I am still working through the patch notes, so until I've been able to confirm a top list of highlights to share. I usually would talk about patches much more in advance, but in this case it's very important we are clear on what we're delivering with this update, and what may be coming later down the line. I apologise I didn't share this through to the threads in this channel, but once the notes are ready you should be able to ready them in full!
Roadmap today - update hopefully hitting before the end of the week, but again this is still being confirmed
No I personally think it's a valid point. He's claims it's for that community for over the weekend. Clearly he feels that, the community on the TSC Discord need to be kept ahead of the community here on the official forums.
