I shouldn't have to get on the internet and be making videos and asking questions to figure out how to do something And can't even figure out if it's broken or me doing something wrong When you got a price tag on a "simulator" up to a hundred dollars thousands for all the content And yet all these tutorials that don't explain anything....... enjoy the money [EDIT - Jan - Language]
I hope you understand the price raises with the amount of content that gets delivered with each edition? Duh. We have over 100 DLC in total now, of course that's gonna be expensive with the price of each DLC. [EDIT - Jan - Insulting] Also, the community is help enough on topics that are not covered by tutorials (such as PZB, one of the difficult safety systems). You can ask people, there are videos on YT that explain things, etc.
Can you be more specific about the issues you are facing? It is a simulator and not an arcade game, it's not meant to be easy...
Like I said appreciate the help man All of that.Aside, when you charge a $100 for something and I load it and I close it and I open it again. It should fk work period
Hmm... I don't claim to be a marketing expert but I suspect "azrail" may not be a satisfied customer.
That when I open it and I do what it tells me to do.It works more than once when I grab a handle and move it.It moves again. You guys keep talking all this smack? It's got nothing to do with knowing These games have been out for 30 years. We know how to use a LOVE air brake But when the game loads and the handle's backward or the handle doesn't move or the sounds are messed up or I open the map in the game crashes Or I buy a DLC.It says there's training how to do it.And then there's no training how to do it And then you got All these people hear the hell and all you guys wanna do is make some smart ass comment back Like it's not working one plus one in the game does not equal 2
Going by what you are saying here, you need to go to the Training Center to learn how things work with locos. If you want to learn signalling you need to watch Youtube videos for the basics. Are you on PS5, PS4, Xbox One or Xbox Series?
No my point is that when I load it in it does not load the same as when it was in training everything is LOVE different When I go watch a video and I do it in the exact same way and it loads in it's completely LOVE different I. It just physically stops working. The handle starts pointing up half the time but it's only supposed to move left to right Like I don't know it's broken, dude. It's not me not knowing it is not working Easiest way, I can explain it.I'm waiting to log in and the sky's green like. It's every time I load the game. It's different bro I don't know how else to explain it
I'm done bro. This auto correct s*** is just too much. I just spent five minutes going back and editing that for nothing
I'm still none the wiser as to what you are on about and am more confused then when I initially asked... One way to get help/or assistance is by breaking down the individual problems step by step and articulately. I can only just make out sentences. Also, one way to get banned is by swearing and carrying on...
I think...probably the best thing for you is to raise a support ticket here https://dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/support/home
I must say I am a bit lost in the rants. May I suggest you take a step back, have a cuppa and come back when you are calmer? Once you have done that, which route(s) and loco(s) are causing problems and which platform are you on. Then we may all be able to help each other out.
I must be getting old.....or stupid as I still can't work out what the OP's problem is! Not sure of the need for the intimated swear words either!
Doesn't really help when you don't say what ROUTES or LOCOMOTIVES you are trying to use, it makes everyone here confused on your actual problem.
Exactly, think a bit of trolling going on here... If you've run the tutorial anyone with half a brain should be able to get a train moving in the game, as there's usually less to set up when you take over a train in Timetable and if it's a scenario it prompts you what to do. On the back of a postage stamp, if you can't get moving a few things to check. All trains usually require you to turn on the Master Key or main switch, Ctrl W on PC then put the reverser into direction. Many German trains also require you to find and turn on the brake key and to be thorough, on an electric loco or train double check the pantograph is raisd and MCB closed. On American locos you will probably need to switch Engine Run and Generator Field etc. switches on, also operate the two brake valves into the correct position. Also, isn't there now an option in Settings you can enable that will popup help if the game senses you are getting stuck?
Yeah, I'm getting heated.Sorry it's just literally not doing the same thing twice like I can't put it in the other way Sd70 Sand patch Free roam Put one down it fine Play again put one down All swtches are randomly set and its stuck in dynamic brake and cant change under any circumstance So politis simplest way I can ask it Why am I doing the same thing twice? And it's not giving me the same outcome
I know the procedures and all that I got no other problems playing the game I've done most the missions its cool But the start of procedures kind of pointless and training when you go to use it somewhere else and it's got twenty other things set differently that it never explained to you that may or may not work on the same loco on yhe same map But I'm trying to like just play things on for your own and nothing will work.I try and set a path and it just literally does nothing.Sometimes it sets one sometimes it tells me.I can't sometimes it just does nothing Sometimes the map freezes and I got to restart Half the time I go to play The Game. It's got a cursor on my screen like I have a mouse hooked up but I don't.I'm on an xbox and there's no mouse and key settings
If you pause the game and press the physics reset button that may get it into a state you expect. Otherwise I have no knowledge on that loco, so I'll leave it to someone who knows the deal with it to go into further detail.
Yeah , i've tried that and everybody says that it resets the locosi've never seen it reset anything As far as i'm told , it was supposed to set all the breakers and switches back to the way it was when game loaded It does not do that I'm in fun fact. That's not the only loco that does it It's just the only one I can't fix all the other ones I just moved the dynamic brake handle to position one and back to position 0.My throttle turns to a white box and i'm good
Afraid I can't help much more then if you have tried the tutorials, basic setup process and physics reset. If it were a British loco I'd be of more use but as I say I'll have to leave it to someone who knows the loco in more detail to see if they can help out.
I think it may be a problem with resetting the simulation physics. I had a similar issue the other day where doing that didn't allow me to use the safety systems on the Azuma. You're probably better off submitting a ticket here: https://dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/support/login
A few people have told me to press that reset button and that things like a pipe dream. It doesn't do anything it doesn't flip any switches it does nothing It's like a dead button It has worked before , but it never works in this situation in most others so I don't even try anymore
Ok. Gotcha. With you so far. Uhm? One what? Not sure what you are doing that you need to do it twice? Or just something as simple as a language barrier issue, if English isn't OP's first language, then it might be easier to know what that is, so we can find someone who speaks that and can more clearly figure out what the issue is.
Good morning folks, first of all, let's stop with the unhelpful and rather sarcastic posts in here. I enjoy a good Monkey Island reference as much as the next Guybrush, but the OP is asking for help, so let's be helpful, okay? azrail#2580 We're sorry that you are experiencing so many issues with our game, this is not how it should be. We would like to help, but ask that you stick to our forum rules and remain respectful and civil when posting on here, insulting language is not welcome here. To help you we need a few basic pieces of information: What is your platform (i.e. PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S) A detailled description of your issue (Saying "putting one down" lacks context, we don't know what you are putting down and where) The route, train and version of game you are experiencing this issue on (i.e. Route: Vorarlberg, Train: ÖBB 4024, Game: Train Sim World 5) If possible, screenshots or even a video would be very helpful Please keep in mind that, if you spawn a train in Free Roam it might be in a different status compared to a train in a Training Scenario. All the best, Jan
I managed to pick up on the term 'free roam' and the mention of Sand Patch and the SD70. All I can say to that is that apparently American trains are built different and not in a good way, because it is widely known that almost all of them are completely and utterly broken when spawned in Free Roam, and it used to be even worse than this. In the rare times that I do drive American, I exclusively do timetable services for this very reason.
Just a thought, and I could be wrong, but doesn't it take 10+ minutes for the brakes to charge in the SD70? I Googled it and found an old thread saying the same thing, so maybe I am correct. I just wondered whether that is why the OP can't get it moving... because the brakes haven't charged enough?
Brake charging time depends on train length. Charging a 10,000 ft long brakepipe to from zero to 90 psi will take longer than a short train. So you can't say an SD70 takes so much time... it's the train it has to pressurize. Charging a cold and depressurized train takes very long (long trains can take more than an hour), from a Full Service is quicker as the bp is already at about 65 psi, from an Initial 6 psi reduction relatively quick. Also, reverser neutral and throttle in 2 or 3 (1 for GEVOs) should speed up the compressor. Not sure it works correctly in TSW, sometimes you don't have a proper EOTD readout or it shows zero airflow - I can't trust US freight in TSW, it's way too flawed. If the operational stuff is not working correctly I can't give a toss about shiny graphics. Not even MU headlight setup is working everywhere. I've also found that the simulation is flawed in a way that your helper locos (DPUs) do not help in charging the brakepipe which they should in real life. If you need to, I can make comparisons on Run8 (which has the most realistic US airbrake simulation - the game is made by railroaders). Name me a consist with an SD70ACe and we'll compare the charging time after a full service.
I think to stay on point, I just wonder whether the brake charging time is the reason the OP can't move the loco – whatever the time might be. But we'd need more detail, then, to determine the expected charge time. Unless the OP has already taken that into account. Useful info, though. Thanks.
Run 8 also has the advantage you can click on the lead loco to bring up a QuickStart box, click on the relevant buttons and engine start, brakes, DPU is all set up for you. Jump in cab, into direction, handbrake off, train brake release, into Notch 2 or 3, Indie off and way you go. One thing I’ve noticed with Run 8, even in Hogger mode, if you have a helper loco on the rear, the train brakes come off almost straightaway.
Depends on route. On some routes one of rear locos is cut-in and also mimics the front loco brake lever position, so it helps with brake pipe charging. The bigger issue imho is... why do we get a train with empty brake system stuck on the main line, if the service start should represent just a crew change? Generally, the TSW air flow simulation is quite good (definitely another level compared to TSC, where the whole train has the same brake pipe pressure), we just lack working gauges (like CFM). Also the controls for 'banked' loco leave much to be desired. In Run8 you can independently control throttle and brake position in front and rear, which is really helpfull in some situations. And this is not TSW engine limitations, because you can do this stuff, in external camera, through the window, and it works, as it should. Another thing Run 8 does great is all the overaly and information you can turn on, to see the state of the train (brake system, coupling, etc), so it is easier to diagnose where some problem is.
Jan, if someone enters the forum, ranting across multiple threads, giving no single specific issue and calling you scumbags you will understand that most of us oldies are not willing to give support. As the thread ain't going anywhere I often like to fill such with some light hearted content, the world is terrible enough out there. Surprised you didn't even edit the OP. No support from me for the poster - there's certain rules of communication that should be enforced. And if trolls are let loose by the admins, more than often it's the established members suffering from that and getting into trouble with you. That's what trolls are achieving (not even always on purpose). If issues are brought up in an appropriate way, your old forums members are more than willing to help and remove a bit of workload from your support team. Please bear that in mind too. I am rubber you are glue.
That was actually quite good, as well as Rise of the Dragon (not Sierra but Dynamix). Super tough, people didn't give up that easily back then . Reminds me I haven't finished Operation Stealth yet... I might have a savegame from 1992 somewhere .. and there's still the very strange Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth Things to do while hauling freight on Feather River Canyon
There was a scenario on sherman hill with the heritage sd70ace where you re crew a loaded grain train parked in a siding near the top of 1.2 pct grade well as soon as you sit down the train starts drifting back and im setting the train up so i realise the brakes are already released then i get a SPAD because there is a signal near rear so train passes it on red before i can stop ..found out the brakes shouldnt already be released when taking over a train stopped on grade so i started the scenario over first thing i did was re apply the brakes since they shouldnt be already released ..then i set up did the hill start procedure. And finally got going up then down the other side got gold medal...seem s that scenario wasn t designed right brakes shouldnt be automatically released the crew before you would have make sure the train fully secured before they go off duty..
Hear, hear. Also hate threads where instead of going back and editing one post that hasn’t been replied to, the OP creates multiple new entries underneath it chat room or Messenger style as notions come into their noodle. Most other boards I’m a member of frown on this and may even give an infraction. On the SCS truck sim forums, if you reply to a message that is immediately above your reply you are told not to actually quote the message to save space and improve clarity.
That poor lonely driver. Terrible avoidable accident. This is the most well explained documentary I've found.
