With development time being what hampers TSW route building the most, maybe choosing a route for which at least all the research, photography etc. is all done already - e. g. one that was released (perhaps at least somewhat recently preferably) for TSW's precursor - may serve as a workaround to that issue. Let alone the fact that there were quite a few damn interesting routes and vehicles I'd love to experience in TSW's fidelity.

My personal Top 10 (in no particular order though) would be as follows:

Portsmouth Direct Line; London Waterloo - Portsmouth (444/450/455)
Riviera Line; Exeter - Paington (143/150/165/166/220/HST)
South Wales Coastal; Bristol - Swansea (66/67/70/143/158/175/HST)
Hudson Valley Line; New York - Poughkeepsie (M7/Genesis)
    WCML Over Shap (47/86/87/HST)
    West Rhine; Cologne-Koblenz (120/146/155/185/189/401/402/425/460)
    ECML London-Peterborough (90/91/180/319/321/465/800/HST)
    North Jersey Coast/Morristown Line; NY Penn/Hoboken - Bay Head/Dover (ALP45/ALP46/Arrow III)
    London to Brighton (319/377/387/442/455)
Chatham Mainline London Victoria - Sheerness (59/66/73/375/421/465)

    Any other ideas are welcome!

All of your suggestions are really interesting and I would love to see them in TSW in the future. Personally, I'd enjoy a portion of the London Overground with the new class 710 for some urban commuter action.

Norfolk Souther Coal District, yes. That street running section would certainly make it a unique route in TSW, but then again, it might be a bit too similar in character to CHH.

Not made by DTG unfortunately, they won't have the data for this one. Frankfurt Highspeed is DTG though, it has a bit of S-Bahn too.

You're welcome. In fact I would have added the Edinburgh to Glasgow route to the initial list, but that's from another developer as well.

Good point. The main difference would be new engines and rolling stock and that street running bit. Speaking of street running, can't wait to try that out on peninsula corridor.

PIC will have a street running part? I don't even remember that from TS2019, but then I didn't drive that route a whole lot.

South is third party, I'm not sure if DTG actually made North and Over Shap.

Whatever the route is you’re limited to 60 miles so a lot of the TS20xx routes are out of the question at least for the moment as it’s a “less limited” sim

    Well that's precisely the idea.
"choosing a route for which at least all the research, photography etc. is all done already - e. g. one that was released for TSW's precursor - may serve as a workaround to that issue."

From a technical standpoint there is no limit to route length, (other than harddrive space perhaps) just the time it takes to make it.

I would love to see the new Gotthard Route in TSW, and the other Swiss routes.
Also the Rhein–Main railway from Karlsruhe to Mannheim, and the „Dreiländereck“

Frankly I don't care. Buy a PC. It's called the master race for a reason. Consoles are for people that are just smart enough to find and hit the On/off button.

However, with the way more recent TSW routes are built, consoles should be able to handle them as well.

The consoles can easily play them with optimization, and in regard to thearkerportian there is a very real possibility that the next generation of consoles (well, the PS5 at least) could run TSW better than PCs.

The street running possibility wasn't included. The beginning of street running branch is cut off right before it starts.

So you just called all of console players "dumb." Nice going. And frankly, consoles are typically cheaper, the reason I have one.

If it turns out the PS5 is better* than every single consumer PC available to buy at the time of its release

    *better at
I didn't say some smart people wouldn't be buying them as well. ;) For reasons I'll probably never fully understand, but that's nothing I want to judge.

In other words, apologies. I didn't have you in mind when I wrote this.

What about them? The routes work the same as on PC and the limit is disk space when it comes to routes as they're not loaded in one shot, but in tile format. Matt has said a few times that the limitation on route length is dev time rather than anything technological

Oh, ok, I didn’t know that, so thank you ;)

And thearkerportian, as Big Papi34 said, the reason that I got a console, not a PC is, that it’s cheaper.
And I’m way smarter, than just turning it off and on ;)
    Cheers!
