Here's a suggestion that may be controversial and a little too demanding but give me a chance. How about DTG build a new route for TSC? The route: It could be anything that's not been released by DTG or other developers. The possibilities are endless. Alternatively, update some existing routes. Traction: This could be something completely new for TSC, perhaps some modern units to bring the game up to the year featured in its title? Scenarios: Again, endless possibilities. Map: The route is on this map.
DTG have stopped making content for TSC long ago, focusing on TSW as there's more money to be made due to larger customerbase. Watch ATS, Steam Workshop and TrainSimCommunity, but DTG won't make that. It's costing them more than they get back from selling the DLC from us ~1,200 active TSC players.
Even JT pulled what would have been their eagerly awaited Highland Main Line from Perth to Inverness, presumably to focus all efforts on their TSW work.
At the time I thought JT said they'd pulled out of it due to unforeseen problems or quality issues and did the Lincoln extension to their MML network instead. The more I think about it, I think the cross channel one was dropped by JT due to quality issues and having seen a video of it I'm not surprised they ran away.
