I hope with this coming DLC from Skyhook, we will have correct length formations. All the current intermodal services in TSW UK routes are too short., they need another 10 wagons.
There are some photo's, but they do not show the full train, has anyone seen any further information from Skyhook.

Was wondering this myself as the screenshots looked like the existing stock.

The intermodals in TSW are based on DB Cargo UK flows that were at the time shorter than any GBRf (average 101 SLU) or FLIM (average 95-100 but can go all the way to 118 SLU)

Yes. There will be a new 66.
I believe every route (with freight) is required to have a 66, in case you don't own any other routes with a 66; making the freight runs impossible, even for AI services. So any piece of UK content with freight, will bring a new 66.

It's correct what trainguy says, vol. 1 & 2 also included a Class 66 in EWS livery. Because of the different layers on different routes, it makes no sense at all if no Class 66 was included. I doubt that these layers would work at all without an included Class 66.

Didn't know that. I'd imagine it's the same awful 66 from a base pack, they won't be making any changes to it.

I think it was stated in the past that since vehicles (thus rolling stock) were detached from routes, that rolling stock packs have to come with a loco as otherwise they would be unuseable by someone who does not own a route on which a 66 exists

What if you have neither the basepack in question nor a British route containing a Class 66 and are only interested in vol. 3, for example? It's annoying to get another copy of a copy of a copy of a particular loco over and over again, but that's the way TSW has (unfortunately) been programmed. It's the same with the DB BR 146.2 or 185.2 or what feels like a thousand different Dostos that we get over and over again. All in different stages of development, all with different bugs, so we don't get bored. :D

Ah, sorry! I forgot to mention; the last two Cargo Line packs have had a 66 included.. so (annoyingly) we will get another 66...
Maybe one day, we'll get a different loco, like a 60 or a 56 instead. We can only dream! ;)

Well you've got the Training centre variant if you don't own a route with the Class 66.

At least it could be a different livery or something. But honestly the fact that all 3 gives you the same Class 66 you most likely already have from any of the UK routes is just ridiculous.

How many class 66's will this bring the grand total to?
We seriously need something other than a shed for modern tsw routes.

Hopefully these wagons will be compatible for livery designer, will be nice to see some other companies instead of the same old repetitive ones.

Hopefully in the pack after this Skyhook will include a new locomotive such as the class 60.
They did a great job with the 158 DMU, no reason why they couldn’t do it again but with a locomotive.

It's not called a loco dlc. It's called cargo pack for a reason. It has new types of cargo, not loco

(sigh) Nevertheless, my point regarding a general desire for more variety of traction stands (which many in these forums will agree with), and Skyhook thus have an opportunity to do so with a combined loco/cargo DLC.

I personally would live to see something like the British Rail Heavy freight pack be added to TSW 5. Maybe a collection of British freight locos from 1980 onwards.

    Class 56
    Class 59
    Class 60
    Class 67

There's your 4 for a pack right there. All with the ability to be used on any of the freight consists. Imagine doing some Aggregates or coal runs over WCML North with a Class 56.....

    Cooooor.

Agree. Man (or woman) cannot live on wagons alone, no matter how well made.

We need something different to haul these with. A Class 56 or 60 being the obvious choice and would sell like a hot cake.

Totally in agreement with the consensus here that, while these packs deffo add value, we really do need a Freight Loco DLC at this point to break up the Class 66 monotony. Perhaps start Freight Line and have a loco and wagons. Vol 1 can be a Class 56 or 60 with some coal wagons say.

I’ve been saying this for a long time now as well. We need a UK route based on freight, maybe with the including of some passenger services depending on the route. For example, the Oakville Subdivision route which released in TSW 2 I think, that was a freight route. I think it’s about time we get a UK route based on Heavy freight. We could include the class 70, 56, 66, 60 etc.

Honestly you've got a lot of routes that could do with better freight timetables.

    Great Western with Mendip trains.
GOBLIN could have a lot more freight including the CAT Groupe car trains.
WCML South has so much mixed freight, so hopefully when they re work the timetable they add a bit more variety in.
MML has a fair bit too.

Just think that UK freight isn't a priority when they build a timetable.

Even just a loco pack would be great for modern UK freight.

Ah, plenty of options then, clearly!! Hopefully in the near future DTG/whoever will start to take a bit more interest and give more love to freight..!

Doubt you'll get to see a Class 68/88 from DTG, you might get one from Rivet, who I believe have some kind of DRS licence.

There's so many different 66s that it's difficult to choose the right one, I do wish it was possible to just have a choice of two, with 1 being the default the 66 and 2 being the RHTT variant

I don't see a problem at all - a locomotive model can be created in a fictional livery, and modders will do the rest))

Assuming this pack is the same one mentioned in the WCMLS Update notes, what is the likelihood of it being a green and yellow variation..

I think you are right, when JT and DTG did the WCMLOS stream I believe one of the JT members on stream said that DTG got the rights to Freightliner before G&W which allowed them to utilise it which Matt confirmed IIRC.

Unfortunately freight isnt a priority.at DTG but needs to be... Like with US freight they do passnger commuter focoused routes and freight gets ignored and US freight is dominant than passenger its been a hot topic on other forums on here but there is also new ppl joining that not informed yet s, Serms to me more and moe want freight to have a bigger presence in TSW in UK and other countries ,

DTG have done UK routes that include a lot of freight as we have mixed use railways in the UK, unlike the US. They just decided that including freight in the timetables didn't really fit with their imaginations. WCML South is prime for this.

I've yet to pick up any of the two cargo packs, or the one for the Edinburgh-Glasgow route. I like having more traffic on the lines, of course, but not sure I can justify spending £10 - am I being a skinflint? Are they worth picking up on sale?

DTG has taken a few steps recently to add freight layers to US passenger routes like San Bernadino commuter and the Boston Commuter if own the needed freight DLC s , They have been doing this some with the cargo paks for UK there is added freight layers now in other UK routes. I m waiting to see what they add freight layer wise to the upcoming WCML improvement update .if its decent that would get a purchase from me..since i like freight services and playing both passenger and freight timetables scenarios is a plus for me when i consider buying a route..

I couldn’t justify it to begin with, but have since purchased the Vol. 2 route which adds more life to Mountsorrel and the MML route (one of my most frequent routes) and feel it will soon be invaluable. The Vol. 1 pack, and likely the upcoming Vol. 3, add plenty of services, scenarios and traffic to a decent route, and is supportive of developers continually improving existing routes.

I got Vol 2 during a sale as a bit of a thanks for sorting out MML and to give more life to Suffragette line. Is it as good value as a route? Nah, but I think routes are priced very aggressively (especially as many people will buy them on sale - it’s basically built into the pricing forecast), so it’s unsurprising that devs try to make money back on rolling stock packs. But do I regret buying it? No, I think it adds useful life, however for me it’s an exception rather then a rule.

Now, Vol 1 I don’t have. I don’t have GWE, nor do I plan to get it, so the value proposition is super low for me. I’d love to make MML as busy as possible, but there’s a limit given how little I get to play TSW

I don’t have WCMLS yet, which is where Vol 3 appears to be going big, and even then it’ll probably be a sale item for me if I do partake.

It will definitely later into MML as well. There’s no playable, or even ai, intermodal on the route - outside of some scenarios.

There wouldn’t be loads to do on the MML though, just the runs from Syston down to Leicester and back. There’s definitely gaps that need filling however!

Fair, I’m not sure how far north in the route they go.

Hopefully drivable in the next add-on / update!

Same I hope they'll be driveable as well, I know in reality most will head towards Peterborough so leaving the Midland Mainline at Syston.
