Well said. This forum lately seems to have a lot of very childish members now. I wonder how they would respond if people were wishing their company or maybe their parents company would shut down? This thread is representative of the worse excesses of the internet sadly. I wonder how many of these people would say the same thing to Jaspers face? Some people really need to grow up, it appears they are in the minority, thankfully.
My assumption actually was that this thread has the correct title and the other one is wrong. While not being 100% clear about it, nothing stands here about a reopening of the forum and store in 2025. Given that in the announcement by Jasper: To my understanding, they are planning to overhaul the website, but not the forums and/or store.
That's how I read it, too. Given that Rivet don't add any new TSW content to their store anymore, and that the forums are pretty desolate, I'd have thought they'd just pack it up and only keep the website.
In Germany, we call this a "hen and egg problem". Seriously, some folk here aren't exactly nice, so we definitely don't want to throw a dev in here. Believe it or not, sometimes we cannot or won't share information for various reasons - it's not a black and white world and even we make mistakes. But, the process of developing routes isn't exactly easy and there are a lot of people involved who can make mistakes. Shouldn't, yes, but we're all humans. Sorry about these issues, we're working on it in the background but since we're getting quite a few requests, bear with us for a few more days. Thank you very much! Not sure what's going wrong there, please email us at contact@rivet-games.com! Let's clarify this: We're closing our forums and the shop. The shop will be closed after the ending sale, the forums will be around until the end of the year. The website will get an overhaul sometime later this year.
Really it is just a handful of some very verbose and prolific individuals that are constantly unsatisfied with everything to do with TSW and or DTG. And it is like a pack of dogs, when one starts barking, the others join in to where even legitimate concerns get lost in the chaos and noise.
I find it baffling why those individuals are still here if they're never happy with anything TSW and/or DTG. Just makes them look like a bunch of whining attention seekers that have nothing better do with their lives. (I can guarantee what I've said will upset somebody who will feel compelled to reply).
No worries mate. Don't think it gets locked, rather moved to OffTopic as it's related to a third party forum, not the game directly.
Some people will moan about anything, most people are happy if they get what they paid for. Thier release history is littered with subpar and still broken releases, this is a them problem, not a customer problem.
Broken? All content from Rivet is perfectly playable, as opposed to DTG stuff that doesn't work anymore (BR 185 for example, or Munich Augsburg - that deserves the term "broken").
Thanks for letting me know solicitr, I'm just four months in with Train simulator world. Still like the three routes,I'm assuming the other two are from the Rivet development team?
Might be helpful for those having problems with keys. Jasper from Rivet has been keeping an eye out here.
Still expensive for a fictitious route. l hope when Rivet return they make this route more realistic, but somehow l doubt it. Can never ever see that happening. Should be a free route as there are far better realistic freeware routes available as well as in Workshop. Will be the same old Rivet as before, when they return. Why bother!!!
JT are selling fictitious routes for much more (Valley Corridor) I've had fun on WCL, got it for even less in TSW2 days. Can't complain.
So glad you enjoy it Spikee1975. As a Cornishman and having ridden the route so many times for over 75 years, it’s diabolical and insulting.
WCL is just about tolerable if… 1. You drive it in the dark and, 2. You avoid the 150 like the plague.
Sadly not really possible. It's basically a freeware level thrash route that vaguely resembles the prototype.
I might pick that up in one of the autumn or winter sales. Especially now Sainsbury’s have restocked on Steam Wallet Gift Cards, I can pop down there on my bike and sneak them past the wife to fund my little hobby!
Rumour has it she's wangled access to the Sainsbury's CCTV, watch yourself there Vern. She's going to get suspicious when she sees you going there so much without so much as a six pack of eggs and a pint of milk to show for it
Careful what you say. You never know as she might have a secret account on this very forum watching your every post.
l totally agree with you on WCL. It’s a pity it wasn’t produced by Just Trains. It would have sparkled!!!
Really thinking about getting MSB and the 204 for cheap. Not really interested in MSB itself, but it might come in handy for layers for other routes. I assume the "buy TSW/TSW2 version and recieve it for TSW5" deal works through the Rivet store as well, right?
It does - I've bought a number of add-ons from the Rivet store since this offer started and activating them on Steam has resulted in TSW5 versions of them being downloaded.
Hey cool, that's a bargain, thanks for the tip! Ssssssoooo I just went to buy all 5 of their TSW products; but was only delivered 3 Steam product keys after payment. I hope there are people left at Rivet who will be able to fix this for me..
Just give them an email and someone will get back to you. I had the same problem on Saturday buying several items and didn't get the codes for most of them. Support was really helpful and responsive and managed to give me the codes individually.
Customer service is always handled and will be via contact@rivet-games.com, as mentioned by Jasper. Has nothing to do with forums.
Yeah and with that said I stil don't have my WCL code that I purchased on Friday evening...but hey, I have the Steam RailTour Addon for WCL at least!
I received my 2 missing keys on Sunday and the correct key for West Cornwall Local today. No wonder they're dropping Fastspring.
Someone from Rivet Games sent me my missing keys this afternoon; this was handled promptly and efficiently!
I also got my WCL code today. The support was professional all the way through, I give them that. A little bit of technical problems here and there from time to time are normal, but it is about how company deals with them, and here it was A+.
Mine arrived too and I was impressed. Just been playing the WCL, while it has flaws, I'm liking the route and the class 150.
