Route West Coast Main Line: London Euston - Milton Keynes - Feedback

PS5:

Service 9S44 (Pendolino, first service of the third chapter of the Pendoline journey mode) seems to be broken. Game crashes after reaching the first tunnel after leaving London Euston. I tried this 3 or 4 times.

 

Well, if you are on pc, then we will be getting the full tt when the mods by JetWash and his friends are finished.

 

My only issue with this route is false AWS warnings on greens

 

Could it be depending on layers? Genuine question, Idk

Me too mate, Like amount of services missing is Ludicrous. Again as I have said that is me going onto RTT and checking, a 10 year old could do that but a Qualified Dev (Apparently) can't. Abysmal, no wonder it feels Ghostly at Euston and on rest of the route. Should be passing lots of 710s but don't because someone clearly didn't do research because they literally run every 15 mins right?
It is frankly a disgrace it is.
Hopefully something big happens tomorrow on the Roadmap for WCML update.

 

I wouldn't say RTT is exactly a reliable source, coming from someone who uses it on a near daily basis. It doesn't always display all services in a timetable, nor is it always accurate.. They only update when the systems they pull their data from have been updated.

Take my local stopping train for example. Until it reaches my station, it will not tell you whether or not it will depart from platform 1 or 2. Most of the time its platform 1, occasionally platform 2 if another train is due to pass platform 1 at the same time, but you won't know until it arrives.

What’s the deal with these reflective posts at various locations, evident on a night time drive? Look like it’s the cable supports from running the route in daytime but why would these glow or reflect train headlights in the dark? Wrong material property possibly?

Tunnel interiors on the fast lines at Primrose Hill and Watford have a horrible repeating texture with a triangular dark patch across the lighter brick, every few yards. The interior brick is too light anyway should be engineer’s blue brick and what’s with the blocky bits sticking out here, there and everywhere plus, as previously mentioned, the portal “hole” not flush with the tunnel tube?

This will be repeating someone else but I’ll add my voice anyway, the Watford Bypass scenario leaves a crash just outside Euston, in a minute I’ll replay it to check if it’s every time

 

I had two crashes when I played it, I saved it first about 7 miles from Euston. The second time I saved it about two miles. The second time it crashed I was actually approaching the buffers at Euston

 

I’ve just redone it and it crashed again, I’ll do it to get 100% done for scenarios but that time is not now

 

Had my first crash to desktop today. I was doing a free roam drive in a 710 and had just got the signal to pass through Stonebridge Park on the Up DC line.

 

Seems to be an increase in crashes on the PS5 since the last update. Thrown off at Bushey having spawned an Evero from Euston during timetable mode.

 

The scenario " Heavy Traffic " is more than a misnomer. It's an acute embarrassment. There is no traffic.

What there is is plenty of false AWS alerts. It's green all the way.

Plus someone had a little bit of fun writing this one. When the fog descends on NW London, it's also foggy in the passenger compartments.

Was this a joke or just plain sloppy software coding??

I've run several scenarios and services on this route and most of them become foggy at some point. This surely can't be typical of NW London. Occasional fog maybe but every day??

The obvious question too is how was it possible to fill the BML timetable in 2022, but not WCML in 2024??

 

Does anyone notice any performance improvements? Anyone? Any?
I didn't notice any. Watford Junction(heavy drops), London Euston(lite drops) - same FPS as before.

Update does not appear to mention anything about changing passenger behaviour at DC Line stations to avoid the pseudo "one unders" when standing in the four foot.

I can answer this. Fog is increasingly rare in the South East. More likely in the middle of the country between October and March.
Mist is very common all year round sometimes but along rivers and valleys, it's usually a momentary issue when you cross these.

The amount of fog in TSW, for my neck of the woods, the South East, is far too common.

 

Which is why I gave up on dynamic weather long ago.

 

Euston is better now for me was in the 40's
Now 58; locked at 60.
Watford still has a few stutters
Wembley yards same as before patch.

 

Sure. Otherwise why would I ask?

Euston was good for me even before update, like 50, sometimes 48, sometimes 60. This is a slow speed section, so I'm OK with some drops.
But Watford! When you spawn on foot its 60 stable FPS, but when you drive on full speed through the station - it's around 40 FPS. Sometimes even much worse - like storm at the early morning(DTG OPTIMISE these gaddemn morning/evening shadows!!!) + trains at every platform. Like 30 then.

 

Well they've had a good stab at it.
Euston anytime of day is a fine improvement.The interior lighting is good now.
Watford still needs another go at it,if they did have a go, didn't see it in the notes, I'll have another read.
Wembley yards I'm taking it on the chin; needs a better processor on my end.
Off to read the notes again.

 

I hope Watford junction is optimised in the next update

 

On some platforms at Euston, you can't climb up. I have had to rely on platforms that can allow me to climb up

Why there is so many AWS magnets and why they are strange working?
Like at some signals there are 2 magnets(one after another). Some of them doesn't work, some gives you a warning on a green signal. And there is no speed restriction boards around. So AWS warning on a green signal, sometime 2 magnets - 2 warnings on a green, sometimes 2 magnets and no AWS sound at all.

 

Because whoever built the route does not seem to have a full working understanding of how UK signalling kit should be set up?!

I didn’t get this on last night’s run. I see from your other screenshots you are using mods (can tell by the branding). If you have any ini file changes this might be the cause.

Also the yellow line is drawn incorrectly onto the ramp

 

the .ini mod increases draw distance, so the vegetation is still there, just not seen for everyone, it still shouldn't be there and should be removed, it a fault of the route.

Have you tried removing the branding patch to see if all the issues you've posted above go away? Looks a lot like something is squiffy between the two.

 

Can anyone else begin service 9S80 in the 390/1? Every time I launch, the train is flipped off the track.

EDIT: Same on 9S85 in the 390/0. This seems to be a greater bug (or mod incompatibility, though I only have JetWash 390 improvements and londonmidland signal improvements installed).

 

Basically you are right. When posting issues, run the game without mods, as false flags are eating up DTG resources.

In this case though, the branding patch is harmless as it only replaces a few sign textures, and is not modifying blueprint data. Mods like these will most likely survive any route patches, not needing updates.

Without mods, same effect. This will likely be seen as non-game breaking and low priority.

It looks as if, to avoid flickering z-fighting issues, the paint is actually a box, not a decal, and the car protrudes it. That's DTG's very strange ways of doing things - the paint should have been baked into the texture, which would have also saved resources.
