The advanced suspension on Trains from TSW 3 to 1 have not been reworked (yet?), and the Rain on Windows From TSW 3 to 1 Trains looks like snow, for example:

Class 101 BLG (Northern Trans-Pennine) TSW 1 Route

Class 465 (Southeastern High Speed) TSW 3 Route View attachment 173343

BR 425 (Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr) TSW 2 Route View attachment 173345

and on Trains from TSW 4 Routes it looks much more realistic for example:

Suspension requires changes to physics and simugraph so it's a huge amount of work

This is, unfortunately, intentional. Suspension and the new rain effects will only come to those older routes if DTG decides to remaster them.

It wasn't mentioned anywhere that all trains would receive suspension, only those from TSW5 onwards (unless an old route is remastered).

Which, given that suspension was a TSW 4 feature, is pretty poor.

I’m not overly impressed with the new suspension system. Unless I’m blind to it, it only seems to have up and down motion (seen from outside). There doesn’t seem to be any side to side rocking motion.

    Only?
Try adjusting the head movement slider between 80-105 it can help a bit.
Azuma is good one to try it out on.
I agree to a point;it varies from one train to another.
More up and down on trains fitted with air bags between bogies and body; Azuma .
Crude rocking on 47 and 66 on older locomotive.
Overhang of the cab area in relation to bogie position.
    You get the idea.
Personally I'd rather have it than not at all.
Had a conversation recently regarding steam traction implementation in TSW.
Don't want suspension simplified in the same way.
