I'm really interested to see everyone's favorite trains, you can post below explaining about your choices. You can pick up to 4 trains. Also, let us know your least favorite train in the comments only. *For the lack of slots to create more options, some consists are put together like cab cars and the locomotive counterpart, to specify your choice use the comment section!
So, my choices are the new Gallery cab car from Peninsula, fantastic sounds in this one. BR class 33 for the detail and feel. DB BR 155 again for details and feel, besides the sound bugs still a fantastic lomocotive. And the Class 37, sounds great and have a good feel to it. My least favorite at the moment must be the Class 166, I'm not sure why, but maybe lack of sounds in the cab bothers me.
For me the 101 is my fav because of the gear system and tap brakes which makes it more rewarding to drive. Can't go wrong with a Class 37 either (The thrash and clag is iconic) If TVL had a journey mode I would spend weeks on that route. Least favourite would probably be the Talent 2, but mainly because Rapid Transit is not very good and stopping at every station is annoying. Also the horn is loud enough to shatter the windows in my house.
I just love the DB BRs but the 185 and 155 the most. Spent a lot time with the Talent 2, too. I tend to not like anything with a Class 101 in it ...
DB BR 155. Loved it in TS. Love it in TSW even more. Patiently waiting for the mighty DB BR 151 to be added at some point . Cheers
The Class 101 for sure....gears and lapped brakes adds a layer of complexity. Plus it is the closest match to one of my favourite DMUs as shown in my avatar
For relaxation, the 166. For a challenge, the 101. For agricultural simplicity, the 66. For brute power and thrash, the 45. (For 'Myst'-level puzzle-solving, the F40PH. "I've left you a message of utmost importance in our fore-chamber beside the dock which explains how to get the locomotive moving. Set the generator field switch to 'On', train brakes to 'Handle Off', independent brake to 'Full Service', brake cut-out valve to 'In', wait 60 seconds, insert the reverser handle, and say a brief prayer to St Matthew of Peddlesden to retrieve this message.")
Once the loco/route combinations get opened up it would be interesting to rerun this poll I think. The class 37, 47, 33 are all locos Id love to run on GWE but which I didnt vote for here. Great idea to put this poll out here
Predictably Class 45, Class 33, Class 08 and Class 37 for me (No bias here at all!), least favourite is probably the 166 as I can't forgive how dull as dishwater that thing is to drive or the sounds.
DB BR 143 and DB BR 155, because I like LEW and have a lot of respect for the people who worked there. The GE and EMD locomotives, because it's awesome diesel power. DB BR 185.2 and the Taurus, because they are some of the most powerful locomotives. HST 125, because it's the iconic fastest diesel train in the world. I hope so much that it will be remain in real.
Best modeled loco is class 08, but my favorite is 182, I bought it specifically for that unique sound it makes. Still waiting for 33 and 52 to get some nice discount, though. Least favorite is acs-64, not because the loco itself is bad, but the route just made me hate it and never use it. Also class 08 needs more services, and generally all routes need more switching services, I always go through those in a day, and then I'm left with hundreds of identical passenger services to play, which are as fun as watching the paint dry.
19 votes for the F40/cab car surprisingly right besides the HST. I would say since I had to fit 2 units in one slot, votes are split between these 2. So technically the HST takes the cake.
I voted: F40 (seriously, the sounds are amazing, and the cab car horn is the best in the game) Class 66- (just a beast- only wish there was more to do with it- would it be at home on any of the other UK routes?) M7 (best MU in the game, just really fund to drive) DB BR 155 (something about that box on wheels just feels right, plus the wheel throttle thing is neat) Honorable mention: Class 08 (love it on NTP heavy haul, but the services on TVL are underwhelming), Class 45, DB BR 143 Least favorite: Class 09 (like the 08 but missing the fun) Dishonorable mention: Class 166 (so many services to drive in silence ugh- otherwise it's fun to drive though)
I agree with this. I'd love to see those on GWE. I'm still waiting to buy the 33 and 52 (only DLC I don't have) once they're drive-able somewhere other than WSR.
I absolutely love the DB BR182 because this Locomotive is more Powerfull than the Other German Locomotives
I put a small video on my channel today to show all my locos and levels/mileage to date. According to the stats my 'best' loco is the M7 and I voted for it above as one of my choices, then again also at a high level is the Talent 2 which I named earlier in this thread as my least favourite. I'm assuming I got more points for using that as the RT was quite a long route. Not sure.
This were my votes: SFJ - F40PH 2-CAT: The sounds and the felling are amazing, the horn is also very good. The level of detail is (imo) the "floor" of quality all locos should have. GWE - BR Class 43 (HST): I like it. A lot. Again, the quality is good enough, as it is one of the first ones(a shame that its only for going from London to Reading -a couple of services stop at Slough-) NTP/TVL - BR Class 101: mostly for the challenging gameplay. Also you could drive both NTP and TVL routes. NTP - BR Class 40 (DLC): Like the F40, the feel and detail, the sounds, are awesome. (the class 37 could be here too) Now i got MSB and RSN dlc´s i find the BR 182, probably the best loco in the game (now i have to decide which vote im changing). Im enjoying it too much. The quality here is awesome, in all aspects. You can do freight services in the 2 mentiones routes, and passanger services in RT route, which im now enjoying a lot; here i can add, that my least favourite loco is the Talent 2. I quote this because i totally agree, that it could be a more enjoyable train...
Br class 37 because its fun to drive and it sounds great. Db br 143 because i like older locos and it has a unique throttle system Br class 101 because its challenging to drive but alot of fun Lirr m7 because its precise and alot of fun to drive My least favorite loco to drive is the amtrak train
