Xbox Series X [resolved] Dovetail Live Is Terrible

Ever since the first tsw the DTL mastery has been completely unreliable. Things are constantly not registering, even though we are connected to DTL. And I've tried every work around I can think of. I've tried logging out of dtl and back in, restarting the game, saving before finishing a required scenario and re loading it to "finish" it multiple times (SOMETIMES this works). But most of the time it's just completely stuck. Such as right now, no matter what I do for the new LIRR "drive 60 miles" or "complete 5 scenarios" it refuses to update. Ive tried timetables, journeys, and scenarios, and nothing registers. It's so frustrating doing these and not counting. You just have to keep doing the same thing over and over and hope maybe this time I'll be blessed my the dtl gods. What's it been, 4 years now it's been this way? Will we ever get reliable mastery?

 

I have the same problems on XBSX. Whatever the route, I have to do the required scenarios or timetables several times before they update.
I have unlogged / relogged several times from DTL (ingame or on the computer) with no result.

 

Having many of these same kinds of issues. Fulfilling requirements several time, yet nothing registers. Very frustrating.

 

I have a set of steps that I follow every time I play the game before attempting any Mastery challenges, and so far, it has been pretty foolproof.

1) Load up the game as per usual, and once in the main menus, wait for the green Dovetail Live box to fully "load" and disappear.

2) Tab across to the Live tab, click on Mastery, and check to see if all of your previously completed awards are showing their gold shield status.

3) If you're seeing locked ones you know you have completed, or ones are unlocked that you know you haven't done yet, click back out, go in again, and repeat until the correctly unlocked awards are showing.

4) Attempt a route mastery challenge, depending on the type that you're going for, make a note beforehand of previous completion progress, such as miles driven, or amount of scenarios completed towards a total etc.

5) At the end of the run, wait for the Dovetail Live box to fully load and disappear again, click your way back through to the main menu, and once again, wait for the Dovetail Live box to do its thing.

6) Check the Mastery tab again, and all being well, progress is hopefully being awarded.

I have completed many masteries this way, including San Bernardino, and almost finished the German TSW5 route.

Apologies for the long-winded description, but I hope that this method can help others.

 

There are some really good points here. For me on Series S the hardest ones to register are usually where you have to drive a certain distance. What I will do is drive a little bit, save, and then see if the mastery is updating. If it is then I drive a little more and repeat. If not then there is sometimes nothing you can do besides try again later. I have found that the weekend can be an especially bad time to try masteries. Once I could not get anything to register no matter what, and then it all came through on Monday.

Of course there are those who say masteries are pointless anyways. But if they interest you, it can definitely be frustrating on Xbox.

 

We've been experiencing problems since tsw 2 I'm sure you've had 100s of tickets about how bad it is.

 

The most important thing I was told was.. "after each service go back to the Main Menu, because that is the point at which your game updates with the Dovetail Live servers". since remembering that, I've not had any issues (on PC)

 

I have completed numerous mastery objectives several times within several routes (Rhein, HSC, SPG, Leipzig, Dresden, etc.), and my progress is rarely updated. Playing on xbox series X.

 

i did submit a ticket, and to my knowledge nothing has been done to address these issues.

i have continued to play, have completed many objectives multiple times, but no progress updates. It's getting frustrating and frankly feels somewhat pointless to play at this point. It is interesting that the store works very well, no issue taking in the money. Having basic functions work in the content for which we've paid...not so much.

A link for account verification was sent (again), and after clicking that link, the ticket was closed.
I can't see that whatever was done has changed much; I have not received credit for scenarios and timetables completed, and even as I follow directions given in the ticket. I have played two timetables and scenarios after the ticket was closed, and those were also not recorded.

Respectfully, it really shouldn't be this hard.

As for the ticket still being being open, I was sent a message telling me the issues were resolved and to log out and back in. That's exactly what I did, and my issues remain as stated. If you are awaiting my reply, I'm really not sure what else I'm supposed to do at this point.

 

Once again dtl is a complete joke. No matter what I do, the blackpool "drive 75 miles" won't register. I'd put it a ticket, but I've learned what good that's done, clearly

 

Mine often don’t show up as registering, but the mastery still unlocks once they are completed.

If you’ve done tall the necessary tasks. Raise a ticket, they’ve fixed mine every time I’ve asked.
