Hi guys, tried to run tsc today and it keeps hanging on updating scenario database then crashes, I know this is often due to a corrupted workshop scenario so I unsubscribed from all the scenarios, deleted all the workshop items in the folder and then thought now is as good a time as any to do a clean install so uninstalled, deleted all the files then reinstalled, still cant get the game to start, any ideas what I can look at next? Sorry mods should be in technical if you want to move it.
Yeah and it still wouldn't restart, however I deleted all the dlc and it starts so it seems that one of the dlcs is corrupting the game for some reason, in the process of adding them back in to see whats causing it but its going to take a while to find it.
Well no because at the moment I'm not sure what's causing the crash. I'm having to reinstall 1 by 1 and then try the game. I already tried mass installing them and it crashed, uninstalled them and it boots up fine. Might not be a route, maybe an old accessory pack or something, im not sure why it suddenly would start crashing the game tbh.
I would install all your Steam DLC and then try the game - it is unlikely to be one of those. If you did get a problem it is easy to remove a DLC by unticking it. Then the Third Party Payware - again because its payware it is unlikely to be the problem It will be the Freeware routes/reskins etc that I think would have caused the problem. Peter
Yeah well thats what im doing but ive not reinstalled any 3rd party addons yet, just the steam ones and it was crashing until I removed them all again, once the steam dlc is installed il try again, it did crash earlier until I removed the just trains common library, then I reinstalled it and the game then started but wouldn't start before until that was removed. Not sure why its acting strange all of a sudden. literally started it up yesterday and it would crash.
I assumed the OP would not install third party DLC until he got the game running properly Even if they are JT Routes it is still third party.
Well surely if its being sold through steam it should be no different in process to other dlcs, im not going through every dlc to see if its a default dtg route or not, if its being installed through steam then it should work just like the default routes surely. Like I said I had been previously using it fine then all of a sudden it just crashed on startup, no updates, no driver changes etc so baffled as to what is causing it.
You do understand that files can get corrupted on your computer even though it came from Steam originally? I had this happen a few months back and by un-checking the DLC's and then re-installing them fixed my problem. I did this a few at a time but never was real sure exactly which one was fubar at the end of the day.
Yeah I get that but just seems odd when there hasn't been any updates but that's what I'm doing , reinstalling them and hopefully it will work this time lol
If that doesn't work, try deleting "PlayerProfiles.bin" from the Railworks/Content folder. Mine did the same last week and this fixed it.
