Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition.
This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG.
Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition.

    Rules:
    • TSC only shots allowed.
    • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes.
    • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish.
    • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory.
    • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves).
    • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge).
    • The Judge of the week's decision is final.
    • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so.
    • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum.
Entries will close at 9PM GMT on Friday, October 25th 2024 and will be judged by me - Craigie-C.

In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 17:00 on Sunday October 27th, 2024 a new thread will be created using the results of this weeks poll.

The theme for this week is: It's All About The Weather.
Feel free to interpret this theme anyway you wish.
Good luck to all, and remember to have fun.

I tried varying the fog to give a bit more clarity - I'd be interested to know which version people prefer:

I like them the best because of the semaphores that are tall big and right in your face. Is a good composition.

The mood of the photograph is most excellent, however it's not realistic. The world has colours and much less blur.
I mean, aging eyes kind of get there eventually.

My offer is habitually trying to puntastic.

However the game looks is all about the weather. Dark or bright, clean or moody, fine or bogus.
Instead of shooting an endless streak of semi-identical pictures using ideal weather conditions (and add-ons), I choose to make the most of it. So the result is, while not entirely, but quite a bit about the weather. (Also, work with the weather. Cinematographers usually pick clothes to work in a specific environment. I can do the same, pick the environment for the livery - except career stuff.)
Part of that choice is to storify whatever is happening. Black distant terrain? No problem, it's just a volcano, an asteroid strike, or maybe the usual: large scale wildfires. It even feels like being a powerful druid on Mount Hyjal - as soon as I'm getting close, it clears up and blooms. The powers of nature!
I could choose a slightly more suitable angle, but here we go, Pacific Surfliner passing the volcanic mountain range.

    LNER Thompson Class B1 10.jpg
The run up to Christmas in the United Kingdom during 1955 sees extra trains provided to cope with the extra rail demand. One of these services is seen here with British Railways Thompson Class B1 '61164' heading west into Manchester, England with 4 British Railways Mark 1 Coaches traveling over the Woodhead Line. Beside the line is an abandoned buffer stop starting to be buried under the snow; perhaps an ominous foreshadowing of the lines closure to passengers in 1970; and to freight in 1981 leaving the Woodhead Line almost completely abandoned.

Motive Power: LNER Thompson Class B1
    Route: Woodhead
    Scenario: [B1] Christmas Relief Special
Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, Golden Age Developments Woodhead Line - Track Patch, ReShade

Route: Northeast Corridor: New York - Philadelphia
    Scenario: Evening Clocker
Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, RW Enhancer 2, ReShade

Okey dokey decision time has arrived, firstly a massive thanks to you all for a great collection of theme interpretations.
It has been hard to wheedle out podium places but here we go.
I have decided to award equal bronze places to Blazin for this heavy rain Amtrak scene. EMD AEM-7 3.jpg
and at the other end of the weather spectrum mfeets for this glorious summer sunset capture.
Equal Silver places I award to OldAlaskaGuy for this stunning snow scene.
    20241019134003_1.jpg
and also to cscarpenter for this wonderful idea of the same scene in massively different weather conditions.
