AP delivers both liveries, both using white. Could be the reflective finish that's causing it to appear silver in certain conditions?

Well AP doesn't care about trademark law!

That's not the point here. I'm glad AP handles it like that and LNWR doesn't have a problem with it as long as the files are provided free of charge. So nobody is hurt and railfans are pleased. Fortunately, not every TOC has your attitude.

Else it would be impossible to post any railway photos anymore, because of these trademark protecting maniacs.

I think the silver tint is just down to the material the real train is made out of, the same way you sometimes get a glossy look to the bodywork of modern cars, resulting from how the paint and bodywork catch the light. Game graphics obviously can't account for that, a surface will appear however it has been textured plus however that lighting system has been created. It still comes down to the same RGB code or whichever identifier they use.

Not that I really care, all I'm interested in is to have these liveries. :)

I haven't been on for a couple of weeks; have there been any improvements to TSW5?

    A few minor things, yes.
I´m starting to like the new 2D Map and the ability, to see all station names and trains on them. Also it´s handy to jump to different places around the map with the fast travel thingys on the 2D Map. I nice to just talk walks around all the stations without going back to the main UI.
the biggest one must be the trackshadow stuff on new routes. No more shadow running in front of your train on the tracks. The biggest "Gamechanger" for me.
There is also a feature called "route hopping", that is a cheap way of avoiding merges.

    I'd argue it is!
Something different is certainly an improvement, new stock and in the pipeline DLC is an improvement, the promised timetables are certainly an improvement, variety of services- plenty of 15-20min short services up to 2 hour freight drags is certainly an improvement. It's making me part with money for the first time in 12 months so that's an improvement..

In fact I would rather Maik/TSG prioritised Ludmilla over the 420, not least because it’s probably easier to find a home for.

But it is not that easy to prioritise something that is just not ready to be done. The 232 is a side project with not scheduled completion date. For a reason of course. The 3d art is still in progress and i will not go further before that part is done. Remember, the loco was build a second time from scratch 3d art wise, also for some reasons. That all needs lots of time an patience. The economical side of that project is already as worse as it could be. My goal is to have it done somewhen next year. No promises.

Good to hear its still got a possibility of coming, the DB content is what keeps TSW alive for me at the moment with UK content being extremely hit and miss.

I really hope you get around to finishing it. It would be nice to finally see a big european diesel in TSW. I also like the way it looks as it is really similar to the soviet M62 - as a side note, is there anything common in them, or they just look similar?

I think you mismatch something here. The 232 is not really a M62. The DR 120 (DB BR 220) ("Taigatrommel") was a M62. The 232 was a new construction with direct requirements from the DR. Some bits are the same of course like some electrical stuff. But overall the 232 is a new and very own locomotive.

Yeah, I know they are not the same. But that was the point of my question - if they have anything in common, or they just look really similar (especially the design of the roof and the sidewalls)?

    I don't think so...just for comparison...

Just for example...main front light in the body (232), and on the roof (120), the grille is in the (first) half and on the roof in the (second) half, quite extensive (232), while the other has a quite small grille just in, let's say, one fifth or even less than that of the loco, windows to the machine room in one half of the loco (232), while the other has windows to the machine room more or less on the whole side of the loco. One leaves a more 'edgy' impression (232), while the other is slightly more 'round', somehow (220)...front windows tend to be more a square shape (232), while the other has more a rectangle shape...so what is similar...both are six axle locos, and the side window of the driver's stand...I would say...

So sad that this being a British game. DT G needs to pull their socks up.
I don’t normally buy German content because much of it looks the same to me, but I would deffo buy a German diesel freight loco.

If you're on PC, the All-Star Modding Team has released an absolute kickass enhancement pack for WCML with a huge new timetable, rebuilt assets, new liveries, even whole new trains (an Avanti 805 and a Southern 377/7)

Now with the latest update, several trains can't be operated anymore (380, 801, more to discover). Why can't you test your stuff before release? You can be so glad your community is so forgiving, you really don't deserve that imo.

DTG, you really are a bunch of amateurs.

That's the effing way to do it!

Let's see what the next build number will be. Today we had 339 and 341.

It seems they push the updates directly after compilation, without testing anything. Chaotic processes. No wonder this game is so bugged.

Forza Horizon 5 map is a barren wasteland, and Motorsport is a broken mess... So you're kinda screwed either way.

I'm taking a break from TSW the game isn't fun anymore for me and it seems every update it breaks something else, still no guard mode on BCC after being told 3 separate times it was working and i'm still getting derailments with the 390 at Euston. It's not good enough DTG

I'll be back for Over Shap

I just had a blast with the vR 232 on Berlin-Leipzig. TSW doesn't deserve Maik's excellent work. The core is rotten :P

Funny, I did put FH4 aside for a couple of days to play TSW, now the situation reverses, though I'll probably do something in TSC.

Also got WRC 24 downloading to try out tomorrow, after hearing good things about it.
