Even though I withdrew for a while and still don't quite deal with tsw, I still asked myself the question. What would you wish for if this old DLC would update (Even if we know very well that exen humans would react to the earth before) What is of course clear are the following points -Physics improvement -New sounds -Realistic engine room (Mybe a expert version) At least that's what I'm thinking about it. But what are your thoughts?
Honestly, since it is an old DLC I don't look for anything revolutionary ... Plausible (and bearable) audio Basic cab functionality in line with the Br185 Decent physics, again similar to the Br185 standard I don´t think it´s to much to ask for, and not a giant task for the developer if only they cared
First of all, Skyhook should assign the rights to the 187 to DTG, then DTG should completely delete everything (apart from the locos body and bogies) and gradually rebuild the 187. In parallel, a 147 could be built in this process. This new pack could then replace the old 187 DLC, owners of the old 187 get a small discount, all others pay for example 22,99€ to compensate the costs for the new pack.
In my opinion above everything else the proper lights should be used. The fact the loco uses the upper lights instead of the lower ones is a big immersion breaker for me. Even if the rest was perfect (which it isn't) i still would not drive the loco with the wrong lamps on. DTG / Skyhook, please do a quick search with Google Image search or bahnbilder.de or anything - it's the bottom lights that need to be on.
Sounds interesting and actually a good idea. Because personally I can say that this is already a form of fraud that you offer such a defective product. But I also hope that something will come at some point.
So, what I personally hear and read very often here is that people are annoyed by the lighting design locomotive, which is also interesting, because yes, I admit that it is completely wrong what happened but also completely questionable that something like that was allowed to be released at all
At least give us some response like: "Hey we noticed the trouble with the 187, we look into it" or "from Skyhook there are no plans to make a 13.99 Euros dlc playable". Would be nice if DTG takes a look on what other 3rd partys do with theire addons. I mean Skyhook seems to have enough time to make two new cargo lines. Wasted potential for a potentialy nice loco. I hope at some point there will be a route with a new 187 so i can delete this abomination.
I wish TSW was more like TSC and just focused on the “driving the train” part, way too many gimmicks in TSW and that means we get shorter routes because of it, as dev time needs to accommodate these features also. I don’t think timetable mode is all that important also, I’d be quite happy just picking a time of day, weather/season and day/night and drive from there. I don’t need to see 150 services from all times of the day, all that does is burn out and adds more strain on the memory and FPS. Rather TSW used a more updated version of TSC when picking your preferences when loading into a route.
I have bought the 187 three times and had it refunded twice. The first time at release, the second time shortly after its "big patch" and the third time during a 90% sale for 1.39€. However, I haven't touched it for years.
Yes, as a free patch for the original Br187 which is unplayable to me in this state. If we are talking a new DLC I would want it to be more like the Vectron in quality.
You raised a good point all the time you only get cargo lines dlcs And no updates, at least not for the things I know. I mean, of course, you have to see where you stay. Production is expensive, but you fool players with it. I think somehow DTG should take care of the 3p developers and see what they do there but Sky is apparently only for profit
Interesting point and personally said I can say, because I only use German DLC I find the conductor mode completely superfluous and the topic with the routes I also give you quite simply a time of day, choose a weather and done. What else do I do when I play this game either. There are so many useless things on which you have concentrated, with which the quality just goes down.
Then that would make tsw pointless for being just an upgraded tsc. It would end up being even less value for money and people wouldn't buy it when they can play the same in tsc. Do you really want to pay $40 for 6 scenarios?
True, but that’s why TSC far superior to TSW. ‘Sticking to the basics’. If you put 100 train simulator fans who play both TSW/TSC in a room and ask the them the very simple question. “What do you enjoy most in a train simulator”? … The most popular answer will be driving a train. Just sticking to that one principle alone is why any train simulator fan will tell you they enjoy TSC more. It’s not conductor mode and all the other nonsense they add to the game every year let me tell you. I did find the premise quite fascinating at first, but after trying it a few times it got boring and I knew what I wanted to do more ‘driving a train’. All these gimmicks don’t really add anything in the long term, they’re cool features to add to the game, but ultimately in the long term people go back to the basics ‘driving a train’. No I would never pay for scenarios. I would learn to make my own. The only third party content I bought is the AP and RW enhancer 2 mods. If TSW build their game on the principles of TSC then we’d have a better system in place. They wouldn’t be charging people ridiculous amounts for scenarios because players could make their own, like they do now with TSW. I haven’t tried making a scenario in TSC as of yet as it’s far more complex and I would need to follow a dummy’s YouTube guide to get me up to speed. You’ve got the whole Southeastern Network on TSC, so I would definitely plan to start there in making a scenario.
Luckily driving a train is better in TSW than it is in TSC so I dont see your point. you can both drive a train and have more stuff going on. Why complain about more features? Also timetable mode is good for its variety and consistent AI. It provides you with realistic day to day operations of a railway with all its quirks
As a paying customer of this game I have my right to express my honest opinions. In this case I feel like DTG is limiting the quality of game by adding more features. Just look at the current state of the game, is it in a good shape? Has it been since TSW2? TSW2 was the most stable and it’s all gone downhill from there. Just read the comments on the forums, people are fed up as I am. Timetable is hit and miss on some routes and not always 100% realistic. Timetable mode isn’t that important though, TSW could save a lot of resources by just simulating a timetable on the go, and if you wanted realism you could just set up the route to the appropriate settings to match your desire.
Timetable mode IS important, most users play timetable mode in this game. I really like timetable mode and dont play TSC cause it doesnt have this. No one told you you dont have to right to express your honest opinion? always such a strange thing to say when i'm also just expressing my opinion on what you said in a public forum but whatever. The current state of the game is fine imo, im having a ton of fun still. you didnt say the problems were the bugs or whatever you just said that TSW should focus on the driving experience which I think is in good shape. This release had its problems but having extra features isnt one of them and I doubt they majorly took away from fixing the issues we are currently facing. TSW is simulating a timetable on the go? its just pre-planned, its either this or an even worse lag fest (or barely any traffic at all) What an incredible silly take ot have. Why dont you play TSC if the basic features in this game dont even appeal to you
I’m disappointed Skyhook Games haven’t revisited the 187. It’s a loco I would have liked in my collection, but given its current state, it’s not something I’m likely to buy (even at a substantial discount). Skyhook really stepped up with Midland Main Line and turned what was a poor release initially into one of the best routes in TSW. It’s a real shame they haven’t done that to the 187 or the other routes they’ve released. LucaZone - Are there any plans to revisit the 187 or your other DLC/Route releases?
How is timetable mode not important? The timetable is the bread and butter of any route and I absolutely hate it when parts of the timetable are sacrificed or if a timetable is built using computer generated timings.
Are you a coder, developer, work in the gaming industry? You know how to this game functions down to its core do you? I don’t so, so simulating a random timetable, randomising AI traffic could be done if it was done properly. There’s nothing silly about it, timetable is just another gimmick that players like yourself latch on it. Bugs… Do I really need to list all the current bugs for the game when you and I both know what they’re are and have plagued TSW since the beginning. Yes the driving is in good shape, no argument there, but sacrificing the route length to accommodate other features is my main argument. TSC WCML goes all the way to Birmingham vs TSW WCML terminates at Milton Keynes. Imagine if they just focused on the driving the train and nothing else, more development time would go into making longer routes. People have already said that driving the Avanti on the WCML is underwhelming due to how quick the services end. Yes, I haven’t touched TSW in over 3 weeks, only waiting for the Tadami line and Just Trains WCML. I play TSC a lot more, it’s a much better sim IMO. I respect your opinion, but for me I don’t think it’s important. Pretty much saying the same thing as I said to the other guy, but yeah, randomly generated timetable mode I could live with and accept. Having timetable mode imo just adds more strain on the game. If making your own timetable journey was a thing than you could just use real world data and create your own.
Train Sim World seems to discribe the complete simulation of a train from real life to me. 1. Driving a train, 2. Be a conductor, 3. Drive more than 1 train in one play through. etc. According to suggestions from the community conductor mode was much suggested, so it seems a bit pointless to now take it to criticise Tsw. All new features make the game a higher quality too.
Yeah it’s a cool feature to add to the game, it just isn’t for me. I got bored of it very quickly. I’m sure there are other players who play and appreciate this mode a lot more than I do. I suppose I’m a simple guy, plonk me in a cab and let me accelerate please
BR 101 Expert, BR 218, BR 411 (despite its faults)... I mean... also Vectrons... those are pretty recent and great... especially 101 Expert is constantly blowing my brains all around
If the 187 was given a major update, then I'd like to see the 147 for TSW as well. Then at least you could have two decent locos serving both passenger (147) and freight (187). Picture taken by myself
For the love of God, an IC2 variant. The creation club livery already shows how much demand is for this one train.
Why does an answer come now and not years ago? (This should not be demeaning, insulting or demeaning)
Wäre eine Option und ich glaube nach all dem Leid haben wir es eigentlich verdient Translation Would be an option and I think after all this suffering we actually deserve it
Wow, an answer back, that's exciting! I'm always open to the opportunity of changing my opinion of a DLC for the better, especially of such a staple piece of stock (I don't know about Germany, to be honest, but it sort of is a big deal of a loco in recent Italy, a coworker's husband occasionally runs on a DC3).
I think a Pack of the traxx AC 3 will be interesting could be included BR 147 DB (RED trafic) , IC2 + doppelstockwagen twindexx Major rework of the 187 on sounds, physics and fonction of the train it's a big project but a interesting project the BR 147 (IC2) pack could be included in dresden-riesa with a another timetable
Im not joking when im saying its nice to see a response for this one. The br 187 dlc is something why i at first thougt, "Seems like Skyhook isnt that of a nice 3rd party", but as it seems the uk dlcs are really good so this view has changed. For me i dont need the 187 to be a top tier loco like the vectron, but at least on the level of the 185.
I don't care about the dev Perse It's just a cheek that you have to ask several times to get an answer. I understand you have other things to do. The work is complex, but that you only face the problems after years. Well.
