The current state of the game it needs a Mastery for just being able to complete a run without a crash or some other bug stepping in the way. With the award being £10 off TSC (or a route) or a £10 voucher off SimRail…
Wow, what are you playing and on what device?. I already have 75 hours logged on TSW 5 (PS 5) and had only two outright crashes.
am I going to have to create a new profile to get the collectables. I'm on 100% for all my DLC collectables at the moment and I don't really want to buy a new route just to do this part of mastery.
Not going into that here as it will drag the thread too far off topic. But just browse the other forum sections to see the issues many are having on all platforms, with complete radio silence from DTG - except when it comes to marketing fluff like this of course.
I get that. Just describing my own experience. The game is far from perfect but also perfectly playable, if you work around some stuff. On topic: therefore it is also perfectly possible to complete the november mastery.
Can we stop with the “mastery” rubbish and vein attempts to divert the communities attention away from the fact they are so reluctant to fix the game or have the courtesy/decency to keep us updated. what’s the point of a community manager if they aren’t going to communicate about issues with the game us people (the community) have paid for (not to mention the DLC)?
I would like to take part in the challenges, but currently on PS5 consoles the textures are blurry and the game is unwatchable. Rather, I will delete your game that I paid for a license from my console and go back to TSW4.
Hi volks, I'm a German player and this time I have a problem with the November competition. What the hell are ‘collectables’ supposed to be in TSW? Can someone give me an example?
Quite. When there's an issue with medals, achievements or " mastery ", whatever that is, the DTG moderators are all over it like white on rice. But mention major gameplay issues and their heads go back in the sand. Well, at least we've gotten away from the fluffy plush toys....... I hope.
This mastery is annoying me. Last Sunday 3rd I did a scenario within which I hit 80mph, which counted (BTW DTG Harry your post above and the graphic says complete 2 scenarios after reaching 80mph, but Dovetail Live online and in game shows it as 1). I did another 2 or 3 timetables which didn't count and picked up 5 collectibles which did count. At some point during the week, I looked online and my 80mph scenario had been reset to 0/1, my collectibles to 0/5 and my scenarios/timetables up to 3/5. Today I did a couple of timetables and picked up 5 collectibles, but nothing counted at all. At all times I was logged into Dovetail Live, as far as I could tell. Honestly, if I don't get the November one despite doing all the tasks, I'll cease to engage with the whole monthly mastery.
The game is very unstable dude. I played on Xbox Series X and yes crashes do happen. Even on PC when I do play occasionally with a RTX 4090 with 64GB of RAM I still experience crashes. The Game is simply put... poorly designed in terms of optimization. DTG will say it's something with the shaders not loading in fast enough or some bs. But I know this is bad optimization. Yet I still play it. Even on some of the older routes crashes are fairly common (NY Trenton, BML, etc...) Also yes the mastery challenges have issues with completing them. Sometimes they don't even track it correctly. While mastery is nice, I have since stopped playing TSW. Content is lacking and not interesting and still more rip offs for what you get. The only third party I recommend is JustTrains. They put quality over quantity.
Same, PS5 with only around 28 hours but no crashes. Not much time spent playing, but even with TSW4 on PS5, with almost 300 hours logged, I had two crashes at most? Same deal with TSW3 (435hrs). I really don't know what game everyone else is playing lol
I have found the collectable and done the 80 mph, but it is not picking up how many miles i have done or timetable/tutorials. .
What is counted as collectables? I've been doing a bunch of route tasks, but it still says 1/5. Is it not tracking? PS5
All route tasks should count. Sometimes tracking is a bit off (mastery could complete, while the counter is still 1/5). Sometimes it helps to log out of dovetail live and log in again.
I was signed out of the forums and did an ICE scenario for the reaching 80 mph and I unlocked the November mastery. I got the blue decal and all. Then I signed in to post a comment and went back to mastery in the game to report that "In the fast lane" and "Work in progress" never showed as complete. And now I don't have it unlocked again. What is going on here? I know that I did more that the requirements to achieve the reward.
Mine is also doing strange things. I ran 5 timetables yesterday. Only one of them tracked for mastery. Only 3 of them showed up in the drivers logbook on Dovetail Live. Distance seems to have got stuck at 11000 and the scenario over 80 mph hasn’t unlocked at all despite multiple attempts. At this point I’m just playing what I want to rather than trying to unlock the decal which I’ll likely never use. It would be nice to know why mastery sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t though.
Managed to get the 'scenario over 80mph' ticked off today, it didn't count towards '5 scenarios/timetables' though. Nor did the 2 timetable runs I did, albeit they were very short, but surely a timetable run is a timetable run? Picked up multiple collectibles from several routes, none of them counted. This is seriously messed up.
Same issue. Everything is completed now, but it still says In Progress. I have raised a support ticket.
Happy to report that the collectibles suddenly showed as completed when I played yesterday, and the scenarios/timetables target was met with no issues. Thanks DTG, let's hope December is less fraught to complete!
Something I noticed that could be related to this. The timetables now says 00/00 services. The timetable missions are all there, but they're not being counted. The scenarios and tutorials are showing the right numbers. Also, why is the grey bar next to the red number one shorter now? (To the left under my avatar)
