Browsing rail-sim.de, it looks as if the 3CC route has received an extensive update a long time ago that never made it to Steam. A user from rail-sim.de contacted JT and they were surprised that the update they apparently handed over to DTG never went live. They are in talks with DTG about the matter. Speculating, if an update changes the track network, Steam Workshop content might become incompatible, which Steam wants to avoid. (Which could be solved by providing a clone of the route that installs separately.) All I know is there's scenery upgrades and ZUB safety infrastructure added. I've also sent a mail to JT. Original thread (last post is interesting): https://rail-sim.de/forum/thread/17135-dreilaendereck-strecken-update-v2-1/?pageNo=20
Thanks Spikee, that was good timing. I'd added this to my wishlist some time ago (I only buy just trains stuff when I'm in Germany as in Switzerland it defaults to a higher USD price and in Germany I can pay in Euros with no credit card charges). I'm currently in Berlin and go home soon, so your post reminded me to pick it up just in time!
Spikee1975 I just checked my version of 3CC (JT purchase) and the exe file is dated 2015 (download date) - I must have missed the JT update too!! However, I checked the JT website and the latest version is 205.exe ie the same version that I downloaded in 2015?? Is there a later update from JT? The Steam version shows the release date of 2015 too. pH
Maybe we should compare a file checksum as soon as I have more news. I had bought 3CC from Steam in Sep 2015. JT have confirmed that DTG have not released the update they've been handed yet. EDIT: Just checked my mails - I've sent my Steam purchase transaction data to them, and now they've added the route to my downloads from their store. I will check for the differences now. Gotta love JustTrains Installing while playing... Peter Hayes Here's the facts: The JT version is from December 2015, Steam's was compiled in July. Tracks.bin is different! Also, a Taurus is included Will check for scenario compatibility later. If not compatible, assign a new GUID for the route. Personally, I think if that update is in DTG's hands for nine years now, it's not gonna happen. Issue solved for me.
I have made a quick comparison, ZUB magnets have been added STEAM JUST TRAINS (ignore the right arrow)
That's alright if you live in the UK or in countries that use Euros as the ROW is forced to pay in US$ from JT/JF so I seldom buy from them now due to the exchange rate.
I'm talking about the differences in the DLC between Steam and JT. Exchange rates are a different matter.
Spikee1975 Thanks for the update info - very interesting. It seems trange that DTG have not applied the JT update for 9 years. Regards pH
Peter is very helpful, has knowledge and is not arrogant in any way. Trev, your country's exchange rates are off topic and nothing anybody in here can solve or cares about. This thread is about the differences between the route versions and a missing update which was forgotten. If this all is not of interest for you, can you just ignore it and leave the thread to people that are interested in the comparison. If you want to buy the Steam version it's ok, your business. All I did was to show you the difference. Instead of being thankful, it's you who's coming across as arrogant imho.
Here's two scenario packs from BeLuxTrains for 3CCR - found while browsing for assets in the archive http://treinpunt.treinenwereld.eu/RW/RW_2523_(BLXT) 3CCR_Pack01_v11.zip http://treinpunt.treinenwereld.eu/RW/RW_2524_(BLXT) 3CCR_Pack02_v10.zip
I am not "bullying you" I asked a question about your post. I did not say you have done anything wrong.
