found this on facebook this morning, ‘nowhere near done’ implies lots of work will still be done on it. will this be sound popping, bug fixes etc?
Not sure about the sound popping but more bug fixes will of course be coming, thats goes for the other routes too.
I would hope so, it is in a horrible state as per when I reattempted playing it after the last patch and although I managed to finish the run, I have not even wanted to return since. Ever so glad I didn't pay for this.
“We are nowhere near done with WCML” Perhaps you should have been before releasing it to the paying public.
I was just able to finish a 350 run from Euston to MKC without any drama, but doesn’t look like the incorrectly set up (or spurious) AWS ramps have been touched.
" We are nowhere near done with WCML ". This " pay now, we'll fix later " mantra seems to be the established business plan with DTG. A few bugs and minor patches post- release is normal for any software, but it sounds like this route was barely half-finished when it was launched. That's unacceptable by any industry standard.
Playing this currently on PS5. The contrast between this and Midland Mainline for example, is stark. WCML is a stuttery mess in comparison and it’s not just in and around London, this service is from Tring and it’s been noticeably stuttery throughout
That's like an apples to oranges comparison. One route is much larger than the other, has much more assets and much more traffic so it's expected to have lower performance
MML certainly has a more in depth timetable with more layers. Also Ratcliffe will take a rather large chunk, yet the route still performs well. Length wise fair dos, but BPO has 48 miles (If I remember rightly) again with significantly more timetable depth and a couple of large assets, yet still runs smoothly.
Yes the unofficial spokesperson is out in force. If you’ve ever watched Polar Express, try reading his posts in the voice of the irritating know it all* kid from the movie. It helps! Just checked the character listing and that’s actually what they call him, too.
Did someone just say that a larger route with more trackage and assets will always perform poorly compared to something shorter and less complex? Well, I guess I really shouldn't be having so much fun with Blackpool Branches then, while Glossop is gathering dust on some closet shelf. Mm. Well, next time someone offers me a Porsche for the same price as your average family car, I'll stick with the little runabout then.
Ear worms are my speciality… Popped a link to the Wurzels “Combine Harvester” on the Farm Sim 25 FB page earlier, trouble is now I can’t get it out of my head either.
I was playing tsc last night and getting 180fps stutter free on one route then 20fps stuttering mess on another. And that got me wondering why is tsw the same? Does one not learn from one's mistakes.
I think WCML South is beyond saving at this point. When you see a retaining wall coming inside and through the body of a class 350 on one approach track to Euston, and a tunnel mouth hitting the cab on a separate track, it's not a great sign. No way is DTG going to move entire walls away from the tracks. It would mean remodelling two entire sections to fix. I'm thankful for XBOX Gamepass, meaning I got to experience the route without having to buy it. Would be really annoyed if I'd dropped £30 on this disaster.
Many of the AWS magnets have been set up wrong so you get a hone instead of a bell or beep at a green signal. So you need to pay attention and cancel the horn even though it is the wrong indication. One of the many items DTG and Rivet need to set to and actually sort out...
