They will either need fake numbers or re-designating, similar to BML, as there isn’t enough 350’s to run the services with 8 car consists.

 

i understood about about the game play packs but its not clear on attional services DTG Alex can you confirm what gen8 are getting yet the article isnt clear all

 

Maybe I talk for myself here, but the sub class differences in this case do not bother me aslong as there are appropriate sub class numbers to cater for the bulky timetable.

Will the formation of the Class 350 be corrected to 8 coaches from 4? I feel like this is one of the biggest immersion killers along the route.

 

A.I 390's running at the correct speed is definitely a positive, felt weird running alongside with the 350.
I wonder now, what exactly were getting with the gameplay packs.
Beyond the freight wise.

 

Yes 8 and 12 car, there's already a few 8 timetables,nice to have a few more Alfie.

 

If I were to put my guessing hat on ... thinking it'll be reskins and stuff that exists mainly that they can do easily ...

- Class 390 Special Liveries with some scenarios
- Class 350 Special Liveries with some scenarios
- The 710/3 5-car unit
- A surprise Class 66 Santa livery which will be the big 20th December announcement

 

DTG totally see the Pendolino as a major selling point. When TSW5 was announced they went to great lengths about how it was "the most requested train for TSW", and about how massive an icon it is. Far more fanfare than usual for an EMU.

 

If that's what it ends up being, they should fire their whole marketing dept. That's like actively trolling your playerbase.

My guess is on nothing for the 390 but the 710/3, GBRF 66 & something D stock related.

 

In their defence, I don't think most of the people on this forum grasp the difference between a gameplay pack and a full add on. "Gameplay" is just that- additional gameplay using what's already there. They could just release a scenario pack and it would be an appropriate name.

Wasn't one of the TSW3 gameplay packs literally just an ICE 3 with a small rainbow on the side? I'm positive this is also just an extra livery or two. Question is for what trains?

Avanti have two beautiful special liveries on their Pendolinos- the climate action one and the Pride one. I can't imagine the 350 getting a new livery due to the licensing issues. Have the 710s ever wore any other livery apart from their main one?

 

You can already have all of this if you play on PC and happen to have been living under a rock for the last few weeks

 

Not really much bigger than any other loco DLC, if it was the ‘bread and butter’ as you say then the 350 would have been the DLC, in place of the 390.

 

The 390 was made the DLC precisely because of it's popularity. I'm willing to bet hardly anyone bought WCML without the 390.

Oh of course how could I have been so stupid?? Let me just shell out most of my wages for a new PC....

 

Imagine how good this Game could be IF DTG simply just went into every Development project with this mind-set of "offering something great"... unfortunately, this stuff only happens when the Content is at rock bottom.

 

You're entitled to your opinion, but most DLC, in fact most PC games come with post-release patches.
Many of the routes I've bought weren't at "rock bottom" before they had these patches. WCML was a bit of a mess, but I don't think that applies all the time.
If your luck really is that bad, wait until a DLCs got reviews and You Tube videos to see whether you're happy to buy around the time of release.

 

If this was to me then it seems you missed what I was referring to, which was simply the "total effort" put into the Content on Release. I'm not talking about "a patch", because this isn't really your normal "patch" but kind of a "rework" in some sorts.

Getting an updated Timetable is not something that really EVER happens, and if they simply had high standards in the first place, they would release a high standard product.

So when I say we don't get stuff like this unless it's at rock bottom, then I'm not talking about "getting a patch" in general. We don't see these sorts of "patches" because most DLC get ok reviews, so DTG release a few tiny fixes, and then move on. That's not my opinion, that's just how a business operates.

When something hinders Sales, they need to make that extra effort to reverse that, especially when a Route such as this is sitting in "Mostly Negative" which is not going to help their Sales.

 

As I understand it, the Class 805 Evero will not be in the update?

 

Some good news,it's getting an update and fairly quicky ,should have begun with a big extensive timetable in the begining,My only question is the freight services are being reworked ,and I saw the words"DTG freight pack" with what seems like wagons that already exist in the game,I hope it's layering and not extra cash !!!,otherwise for the rest all sounds good to me

 

This is probably the main reason DTG are rushing to fix WCML South.

Losing route DLC sales is bad.

Loss of route DLC sales causing loco DLC sales to also be lost is a disaster for DTG.

 

I know it’s probably not a important topic for WCML. But I have downloaded a good amount of awesome liveries from Creators Club for WCML. It seems that all AI trains such as the Class 390, Class 350, Class 377 & Class 710 on WCML are disabled from having any type of custom liveries. Will this issue be resolved in the upcoming update? It’s disappointing not being able to see them

 

This is only for PC, PS5 And XBox SX

 

The later batches of 377/1s may be externally similar to /4s but internally are quite different, which is no represented in the game.

I applaud this news greatly as I was one of the community that campaigned most fervently because I live in London and know the real WCMLS very well.
What came with TSW5 as a core route was not any WCMLS that I knew, hence I did not buy it as I regarded it as semi fictional.
Now it's great to see DTG making this wise decision and they must be given credit for it. Especially the 800 new services.
I am off to the steam store to purchase the route after this.

You're suggesting that software houses don't put total effort into content upon release? Sure there are examples where it's hard to see how it passed quality control. That happens with software of all sorts. It's usually because everyone's been working so hard putting-in "total effort" but something was missed. I think there's a significant difference between a "patch" and a "rework". Only two UK DLC has had a "rework" (Cathcart & WSR) and perhaps the Trenton pack could also be described as such. I have mostly UK DLC in mind.

Ever? You're excluding SEML, Fife Circle, Cathcart Circle, Bakerloo Line and the forthcoming WCML enhanced timetables obviously.

"Tiny fixes" are "patches". The UK routes with perhaps the exception of the Cornish one have had multiple patches that I'm personally happy with now.

Well of course some software is released in what feels like a hurried state and of course all businesses try to minimise negative reviews and maximise profits, that's how business works. But it's incredibly disingenuous to question the effort put in by creators of DLC in general terms. You've not even given any examples to work with, just sweeping generalisations.

 

This is very good news because the route was nowhere near busy enough.

 

Very happy to see these improvements. DTG made a MASSIVE mistake in releasing WCML the way that it did originally. Given how in demand WCML had been for TSW, to think they could get away with what they released was pure madness.

I’ll be interested to see how these improvements impact performance. Many players were experiencing crashes on WCML (I only got a crash when fast travelling within the route) so anything that could impact performance will need to be carefully tested before release.

I’m glad DTG has listened to the community, but it’s a shame they only did so after release. Given the historical feedback we’ve all provided, they should have already known that cut down timetables simply don’t cut it.

 

Can anyone shed some light on the new services? Are we thinking full Overground/Bakerloo timetable etc?

To be fair I was under the assumption all the certain crashing was happening on Gen8, which I suspect was Solicitr’s point too.

I don't want to talk out of turn, but in my mind this is on the verge of being a stupid question/initial suggestion. Before you come at me all guns blazing let me explain why: this, as you say, is an update not a new DLC and so why would they be building a whole new unit for this update. Of course an 805 may come to the game, but not as part of this update as it will be its own DLC, and that is not for Liam to announce here either.

Fair dos, I thought it were rather widely thought/known that it were also choppy as the big blue sea on PC and Gen 9, even if crashes weren't an issue.

 

DTG Liam Have there been any changes to the timetable on Xbox Series S or will that timetable remain the same? Is there an option for a full timetable or reduced timetable? Thanks.

 

I do recall someone telling me my feedback about this route won't make a difference to DTG, they will just ignore what I said..Mmmmm. Sure doesn't look that way does it? Way too many people complained about wcml, DTG have responded to be fair, but this is how the route should have arrived in the first place, sales would have taken off.

We shall see how it plays?

 

I second this. To be sure, I posed a question about Series S layers concerning this update and also the new WCML North on the roadmap thread, but the query went unanswered. I would appreciate a response, even if the response is that DTG doesn't yet know what will be on Series S and what won't. We didn't know how TSW 5 would run on Series S until after it released. I don't think that is a fair situation for Series S owners.

 

Will the class 377 transformer buzz be removed when in DC mode, as it should only be present in AC mode?

 

Unless there's a different buzzing sound I'm not aware of, the 377 will always have a buzzing sound from the transformer.
