There are some licensing issues with DTG that are preventing us from getting some really cool trains, routes, and locomotives. I have a couple of license ideas that I hope DTG could obtain in the future. For example, when they got the BNSF license, that was exciting. Plus we got Cajon Pass with BNSF locomotives and rolling stock.

    -License wishlist #1: Conrail:
Conrail was founded in 1976 as the Consolidated Rail Corp. Conrail was a government-owned Class 1 railroad that was formed to take over bankrupt eastern railroads such as the Penn Central and Erie Lackawanna.
In 1999, Conrail was split between NS and CSX. However, there is the Conrail Shared Assets Operation (CSAO).

    -Possible Conrail Locomotives:
    -C40-8/C40-8W
    -C39-8
    -SD70MAC
    -SD60/SD60I/SD60M
    -SD50
    -SD40/SD40-2
    -GP38-2
    -GP40-2
    -SD45-2
    -SD70
    -SD80MAC
-Both the CSX Conrail Heritage ES44AH and NS Conrail Heritage ES44AC

    -Possible Conrail Route:
-A Conrail version of the Horseshoe Curve route with the 3rd track removed from the Curve.

    -License wishlist #2: Metra:
Metra is Chicago's commuter rail network. Chicago has a long history of commuter rail services with C&NW, CB&Q (later BN), Milwaukee Road, and others. Chicago today is also a major rail hub with all of the largest US railroads having trackage in the city and surrounding areas. Now, UP, BNSF, and other railroads run alongside Metra trains.

    -Possible Metra Locomotives:
    -F40PHM-3
    -F40PH-3
    -SD70MACH
    -F59PH
    -F59PHI
    -Bi-level Cab Cars

    -Possible Metra Routes:
-Metra BNSF Line/Racetrack: This is the Metra route that I want in game. It has everything: BNSF freights, Amtrak Midwest, Amtrak Long-distance trains, and Metra commuter trains all packed into a busy, higher-speed, 3-track (hence the name Racetrack), 37.5-mile-long urban route between Chicago and Aurora on former CB&Q/BN tracks. Metra uses F40PHM-3s and F40PH-3s for their trains on this route. As for BNSF, we need a C44-9W, ET44C4, GP60/GP60M-3, and/or GP39-3, plus freight rolling stock. For Amtrak, we need a Midwest SC44 Charger and Venture Coaches, an ALC-42 Charger and Superliners for long-distance trains, and/or a P42DC or P32-8BWH.

Some companies don't want, and never will, give a license to use their branding. For various reasons.

and if they got license they might not make the items people want. why because the railroad would have to pull that locomotive from serves for few days. also the staff would have to take trip to the us for few weeks to get sounds and references material.
now they could ask the community for help but i think it tuff for some reason. another idea if dtg has thought about is buying like ho locomotive scaling up in 3d program. because ho scale locomotives detail has come very very long way. scale trains locomotives are very very detail. same with rolling stock.

As long as capital and money speak, it depends on whether DTG can satisfy the appetite of big companies.

Trenitallia only have a 30% stake in the company though so it'd come down to how much say they had in the decision over first group.

I think that with regards to route possibilities some of the best licences to have would be TPE, Greater Anglia and ,one that'll probably never happen, Cross Country.
