Hello and welcome to the TSC Roadmap (we're doing it ourselves here :) )

In case you haven't noticed, another huge freeware route has been released - including 103 scenarios! And no - you don't need a subscription! ;) You're getting a network almost ten times the size of the original DTG Liverpool - Manchester route.

    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...cheshire-phase-6-ready-for-publication.82465/

Installation went without issues, a script will copy / extract the Geo files for the large amount of repainted assets.

I am having a look at the route now. Thanks to the authors for contributing to keeping TSC ever going!

Just for reference, it's South Lancashire and North Cheshire.

I think New Cheshire is probably a little known island archipelago somewhere in the South Atlantic :D

Should note this is an "old days" route. I researched this a little some time ago and noticed that Geoff also did a video on part of this area that has since been removed. It's interesting to note that some of the turns are connections between two different routes at the time and that today's incarnation (I believe through Boston) was never one solid line.

Then do apologise like a proper Canadian would. As opposed to the States, you had chosen to stick with the Crown, didn't you ;)

You do realize that Canada was a British colony that proved itself during the first world war and only gained true independence many years later, yes? The Canada Act of 1982 ended the British Parliament's role in Canadian law and granted Canada full sovereignty, also implementing the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

I was therefore born under British rule, but today live in a country with full sovereignty.

Yes, we have that. Our government model is very similar to the UK.

Now let's get back on track. ;)

We set the route in the early 1980s, partly because Nick and I could both remember some sections at that time and partly because I am a Class 40 fan and wanted to create a route on which 40s could be run during their heyday period, over the years South Lancs has become the monster that it now is - I'm guessing that you mean Bolton? The line to Bolton heads off near to Agecroft Power Station after running parallel for a while and then rejoins near to Hindley....both lines are still there today but the area is unrecognisable in coparison to the 1980s, have a look on googlemaps/earth....

Not sure what you mean by the route thru Bolton not being a Solid line?

The main line from Manchester Victoria splits off at Windsor Bridge North Jn (Salford Crescent) with the main line towards Bolton. The line continuing via Lostock Jn to Horwich and Preston. The line heading to the left at Windsor Bridge North Jn goes via Atherton to Crow Nest Jn. At Crow Nest Jn, near Hindley, the lines from Bolton via Lostock Jn joins with the line from Manchester via Atherton and the carry on to Wigan NW & Wallgate.

Found what I was thinking of. It was Boston I had in mind. Notice the routes removed going north and south of that, and even to Skegness the turn off of another route to join that route at a junction where those two routes used to extend (I believe in the topic route).

No..Boston is 130 miles or so from Bolton, on the other side of the country so absolutely nothing to do with the topic route.

Hmm. I remember seeing Boston in a TSC route before. I am apparently forgetting which one.

I knew it was a Lincolnshire route, in any case. And yeah, I have to try both sometime, especially this one now that it's Phase 6. And the update to East London Line. And the North London Line update. And I have yet to run Conwy, and it's also updated two months ago. And the Waterloo and City Line! I have a lot to try out when I finally get a new setup going.

Maybe download a map so you could see where places are before telling us something that is factually wrong.

Post #6 "It's interesting to note that some of the turns are connections between two different routes at the time and that today's incarnation (I believe through Boston) was never one solid line." You somehow confused Bolton in Lancashire with Boston in Lincolnshire. Having a Map would Help

That was a general comment about a lot of the tracks that no longer exist across the entire area. A similar comment could be made about the Weardale/Teesdale network that used to connect the WCML to Darlington. I couldn't tell you on the fly about a specific missing track, though.

But the area you are talking about is unrelated to the area this thread is about.

Because I did not realize we were discussing two different routes. That is where I was mistaken. I thought the Boston to Skegness area was on this route and did not realize this was a different Lincolnshire route. I accept that error.

Yes, I know. I've studied the route to Blackpool as well in timetables. Both six letters and starting with B. Easy mistake.

Yeah, and East and West both end with "st" so that makes it even harder to tell them apart.....

Why people have difficulty with "left" and "right": both end with T. :D

So stop the nonsense and play the route kids. I wanna see screenshots. (My own journey has taken me from NL to B and now F (Corse) currently, will be a while until I return to the UK... there's also SFM Torino Reloaded that I've installed but not played yet...)

I do have a lot of RSC Class 86 reskins, but the first scenario on that route wants a 86 BR Blue Domino version. No idea where it's from. APC86 and APC86EP installed. Usual suspects DP, VP and TSC checked.

Just swapped it for the def BR Blue for the time being...

    Route's looking great!
