Check in your controller settings that you haven't turned off the option for AWS etc under controller speaker.

I just tried the wiper in both training center and in game and, for me, they work fine both inside and outside. There is a small issue for us with Raildriver, the run up will not hold. You move the lever into that position, and it quickly reverts to hotch up. I have to keep moving the lever up and down to get this feature to work. Run down works fine, move the lever into that position and it runs down.

I was running the BR blue one. Will have to try the IC version.
Confirmed, we will have to stay with the BR blue one for now. Seems strange that the blue one functions with rd and the IC does not.

Anyone else been caught out by the quick 30-15-30-15 speed changes on approach to Morecambe? I have! Ooops.

On Xbox One S, whenever closing the routemap a giant white number, usually 0, appears momentarily

If you were driving a 101, I saw this yesterday in a JT stream running this branch.

I have an issue with the class 87 spawning with mk2 coaches and not mk3 coaches in timetable mode. Anyone have the same issue?

Issues with Morecambe bound services at Lancaster. Told to close doors and RA but with red on platform starter. Seems to be for an arrival into P1. Noticed with ai traffic and player services.

Both levers need to be in the on position for the AWS to work correctly (AWS and change ends)

I bought from JT directly when I got home at 3PM GMT. Just played the initial training modules and experimented with other stock in free roam. The 87 is arguably the best loco in TSW although I am not a fan of the way they rigged the tap changer. (Manually move back and forward with delay!) vs the way AP did the tap changers on their TSC 87 and 86 EP. (Hold button + press A/D to notch, tap changer automatically returns to hold when keys released)

As for Mk3s though. I do feel they lack a bit in terms of functionality. Sure it is nice we have actual loco hauled Mk3s in-game now but I have some major oversights/issues with them.
    1. The train lights cannot be controlled from the appropriate stations in the vestibules, lights can only be toggled via RCH signals from another coach that has a working light control key station (e.g. Mk1 BG or Mk2a)
    2. The lights are active irrespective of ETH status. In real life Mk3 coaches have their lighting powered by the train supply through a motor alternator (MA) set. In the sim however it seems like they behave as if they were traditional Mk1/Mk2a coaches with the lights powered by batteries charged by axle driven dynamos. Mk3s do have batteries but they only power small equipment iirc and those are not charged by axle generators but are also charged by the ETS fed MA set.
    3. End gangway doors are unable to be manually toggled open/closed by the player. This presents a potential interoperability issue in formation designer/free roam. The unmodified Mk2a coaches share the same problem, they are permanently locked closed unless coupled and the coaches consider the other vehicle a "friend" upon which the doors will open. When seeing them couple you can actually see the gangway doors are animated entirely wrong, in real life they swing inwards and lie flat against the end bulkhead. In-game however the whole gangway door assembly simply just slides sideways into the wall. I also say unmodified for the Mk2s because someone made a mod for Mk2 coaches that unlocks the doors and allows them to be manually openned/closed by the player.

If these problems could be rectified then I would be grateful.

Definitely on, as it works with other loco's and routes, just tested.
Seems to be third-party routes that are mainly affected.

Loving the route and class 87! Set off with dynamic weather on, it was clear from Preston until I got to the top of shap summit and then stared snowing slightly until Carlisle. The class 87 is really good fun to drive and as previously mentioned the sounds are great, especially when braking!

Just a shame I missed all neutral sections apart from one....!

what a route ! JT setting the bar once again for what a train sim world 5 product should look like. the scenery, class 87, stations are all close to perfection and whilst the route could do with a final bit of polish, it’s still an excellent dlc. congratulations to everyone involved in making this happen

Initial impressions very good, tip top job on both the route and the Class 87.

    Some positive constructive (hopefully) feedback.

    1. Getting a heck of a lot of sound bloop and rubber banding which kind of spoils the great job done with the audio. This was noted on the stream and a core issue DTG need to get to grips with. Hopefully it might improve after a run or two and the shaders are set up.

    2. I am convinced having driven AC electrics in the other sims that the tap changer is set up slightly wrong. Quickly tapping into Notch Up or Notch Down from the Hold position should spring back to hold. Holding the controller should put it into Run Up where it should stay until physically moved back through Notch Up to Hold.

    3. A sub screen showing the ammeter and throttle/tap position would have been useful.

    4. AI Class 87 hauled trains did not appear to have the centre high beam headlamp switched on. That could be me, so will investigate further.

    5. As noted, DTG need to look into having neutral sections appear on the minimal HUD.

    6. I got 87012 on my first run but no nameplate on the loco (maybe it's an unnamed one).

But overall big smile on my face and looking forward to spending lots of time on this one. JT have shown how it should be done, limits of the host sim considered.

I've done some runs on this route, so far I really like it ! Excellent work on the Class 87. The Class 101 also has got a great rework. The scenery and tracks are well made.

I'd like to report two issues (on PC) :

    - On the Class 87, the number 1 end cab and the number 2 end cab behave differently. The AWS acknowledge key and DVD reset key are bound to the same key on the number 1 end (which is wrong), but they are bound to two different keys on the number 2 end (as they should be).

    - The Bare Lane level crossing opens when leaving Bare Lane towards Morecambe :

Only done the 2 hour long freight scenario so far.

But. From what I've experienced, the route is fantastic. The 87 feels a challenge but fair at the same time.

Just finished 6M61 Mossend to Clitheroe with the Tees Valley class 37s.

Only took the best part of 3 hours, as I was dumb and set the weather to heavy snow, so endless wheel slip everywhere.

Not a single bug or problem encountered all the way from Carlisle to Preston, so absolutely fantastic! :)

At Bare Lane one of the station name signs is behind the lamp-post, not on the front.
It's at the Lancaster end of Platform 2.

Btw, I would have thought there would be platform number signs here. I can't see any.

Same here on 2 services I tried, crashes just outside Carlisle. I think it may need a bit of Series S optimisation. I remember Blackpool Branches had crashes around Preston initially which were quickly fixed.

Only noticed 2 issues on my first run
Graphical - Bridges and the small tunnel do not make the cab go dark
Route "roof" speed limit seems to be set at 100mph, meaning the sections of 105/110 do not show

They both are on, but when the 47 comes up to a signal, the bell or AWS does go off, it’s just when setting up, the AWS alarm warning does not go off to say that it’s active.

I believe there are different speed limits depending on the consists? I think the mk3s are cleared for the full 110 on loco hauled services and the mk2s were only cleared for 100mph?

Someone feel free to correct if I'm wrong :)

Only a small gripe for me. Along with the other track superelevation issues I have reported with the Clifton and Lowther crossovers. There is no superelevation on the curves leaving Preston north bound until after the Barton & Broughton passing loop. Albeit there should only be very slight superelevation in that section but it should definitely be there on that section.
Otherwise I am struggling to find fault other than those that others have reported about a level crossing not closing.

no it is not, you can see it not be sprung in this video, the driver moves the handle to Run down (as can be seen by the amps slowly dropping) and lets go, before finally moving the handle to off a few seconds later

    or again in this video

I’ve had a lot of fun today with this route on my PS5 and everything has been excellent. I have a couple of bits of feedback about the controls though.

    1. The brake lever in the Class 101 moves too quickly with the controller. It’s almost impossible to tickle a bit more brake in or out like on the other 101s in the game as even a slight touch moves the lever too far and results in a bigger change in vacuum before you can return to lap. The control may have been a bit too slow in the older versions but the new version is far too quick.

    2. I don’t think there is any need for the tap changer to be mapped to the dpad in the Class 87 as it already has its own controls on the normal throttle control buttons and is easy to use there, and it being on the dpad has somehow messed up moving the reverser into the off position, and that’s the only control the reverser has on the controller. Now it has none that’s fully usable. I think it should be removed and the dpad up and down should only be used for the reverser as normal.

Anyone else is having the Class 87 layered on the East coastway route ?
    IMG_3769.jpeg IMG_3770.jpeg

Quite difficult to move it under third rail, apart from that, that route is a proof that waiting a year for a route from JT is worth the wait ! They never miss, I’m really enjoying the route, especially the 87 which feels so immersive that I feel like I’m driving it for real.

The old atmosphere was well recreated and everything about the 87 is beautiful from the modeling, to the sounds.

Thank you JT for another beautiful route.

    My first impression on PS5.
    1. Passenger timings on the platforms is off. Noticed driving thru empty stations with empty platforms and when I arrived in Preston the station was a ghost town. Walked around in Preston and it really took a while for the passengers to appear.
    2. Performance is again disappointing on a TSW5 route.

Okay, I bow to the experts on that one. Definitely a case of RT(Real)FM it seems. Just seems strange that in TSC, tapping from Hold to Notch Up on the 86 or 87 does spring back, as you would expect for a one at a time function.

In which case sound hitching remains the number one issue for me and is going to need a solution from DTG. Easy to dismiss it as potato PC but if it’s also happening on consoles with fixed hardware then something is amiss. Either the core is borked (and it does seem worse generally since TSW5) or something was missed building the route. I just hope in the clamour to produce a well detailed route, JT haven’t inadvertently done a Sherman Hill where we know in its first iteration the builder had continued to place high resolution grass a great distance from the track, with the resultant horrendous hit on performance. Driving along WCML evident many of the fields have been given actual grass and crop assets so perhaps a review of how far out these go, LOD or the asset and material itself might help.

In the meantime I’m going to see if changing a few settings help, the nuclear option of pegging FPS down to 30 being the last of them. Also note running vanilla here, no God mode or any other environment changes or mods active.

Seems to be a Core issue, happening to a variety of trains across the game.

Guard mode seems to be broken on the Mk 3's, as whenever I buzz the driver and the train leaves I get a 'Service Failure: Guard left Train' message no matter what I do

Edit: it's a Mk 3 issue, not a guard issue, as the Mk 2 services work fine
Edit 2: seems not to be a global issue, as I've tried another NHA service from Preston and that worked (although the UI glitched out). I'll test some more, but it's definetly not working as it should...

Edit 3: okay, I've narrowed the issue down to NHA services from Carlisle. These don't work, as soon as you buzz the driver you get a 'Service Failure: Guard left Service' message. Mk 2 services are fine (as these work with a whistle) and NHA services from Preston are also working but with a glitchy AI

Edit 4: confirmation, every service where you use a whistle works but as soon as you have to use the NHA buzzers it breaks

In addition to my previous comments. I have found another small section with no superelevation. As you approach Lancaster from the south there is no cant on the track that is a 75mph section as it crosses a couple of crossovers. I have checked a couple of cab ride videos and ot definitely should be superelevated track.
It's strange as the curves immediately before and after the section are superelevated normally.
I know there used to be an issue doing superelevated curves on cross over sections in the past. But I think it has been possible in the editor for quite a long time now. There are also other cross ver sections in the route that are superelevated ok.

My apologies if I sound like a broken record.

This happened to me in the 170 on the Fife Circle Leven update the other day. Hasn't happened since, but suggests there's something broken/changed in TSW rather than the routes...?
