I'm really new to train sims. Is there anywhere online where they have the starting order of each train. I mean starting each train from cold and what buttons and what order you use them in. Also, my fav train is the class 43. is there any way this can be driven on any other lines? is there a free roam type of mode? thanks
The tutorials give you the startup routine for each vehicle, and when such things are required in game they usually give you the tic tac toe There isn't a way to drive units on other lines as it stands
https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...etable-look-no-further.4008/page-2#post-90871 You can find the manuals for all of the routes on this page which will explain step by step!
Hello! Im new in the game too. I have a question about the crowd at the stations. The trains are Always empty with no crowd inside. Is It normal? (PS4 version) THX
Hi! At the moment i try only the spessart route and the trains are Always empty I dont know if there Is the same "problem" in others routes...
this is GTSW, what means ghost train sim world. Maybe is better this way because i dont want to see clones everywhere.
almost. ghost trains, i play some routes penninsula included and i cant see any passengers, well i saw 1 or 2. The clones is in LIRR i think passengers getting out of a train in the first station and there are 4 or 5 clones loool. Maybe DTG could be charged of cloning humans LOOOOOL.
Ahh I see what you mean. I've noticed it too on the NTR routes, not many passengers, and all dressed the same. Sergio-Tacchini tracksuit tops seem very popular too!
when the train opens the doors the npcs appear from nowhere inside the train, like they are teleporting and get out of the train and 3 or 4 of them are clones. loool
I also enjoy the class 43 HST (High Speed Transport), I'll sound my horn if I pass you between Reading and London Paddington. If you like complicated engines, try the double diesel lash-up in NorthEast Corridor scenario called "Trash collector". For added thrills, try a journey in the ACS 43 at night in a thunderstorm, fog or blizzard. And learn and use at least the gauge dimmer switch and/or cab light.
I've done the fog and blizzard trips and eventually found the gauge dimmer switch. I like the 43 because of the large view through the windscreen. Some of the trains have a very claustrophobic view of the track. I am trying to learn the complicated engines, I'm okay once the train is up and running, it's just the starting procedure that I'm having trouble with. ( I sound the horn at every bridge and station I pass through) lol
If you switch to the external free camera and position it just in front of the windscreen in line with the driver, you get a nice 'train's-eye view', and it's a lot easier to see in dark or wet conditions. Not as realistic as the driver's view, of course, but fun.
I think the problem with this is that each passenger is an "asset" which means that it has to have a spawn point, a lifetime and an end point For the purposes of the game (from what I've seen) there are random passengers on the platform who mill about until a train arrives, and who then walk towards "a door", but then they despawn and effectively no longer exist. Passenger numbers on the train are randomised at carriage spawn, but don't seem to change so again, assets But, the other way round would require each individual passenger that was to exist from originating station to end point to always be there. They don't despawn when you change camera views, so rather than devoting memory and CPU time to animating trains, spawning track etc it would be taken up with 100 passengers you may never look at. Thats the thing with this game, everything is a trade off in processor power, attempting to give you what you want right at that moment without sacrificing what you're not looking at right now
