Seems to me that the headlights are fairly useless on both the GWR High Speed Transport and the NEC ACS 64 during late night and bad weather runs in both journeys (GWR only) and timetables (NEC). Another poster suggested running ACS 64 with weather set to "winter snow", which does indeed help. But weather options fixed in journeys, so running the HST at 125mph in sheer darkness using only the heads up display is a little bit.....unrealistic.
Not sure how much the lights on a HST actually allow the driver to see That's a youtube of a cabride in a HST in dark of night and you basically can't see much at all
It becomes a matter of driving on instruments, and I use zoom function a lot to pinpoint stop markers.
